Queen Mary University of London is good with great academics.
Tips: Academics here are challenging, so understanding your course will help. The workload is intense but rewarding, with strong support services, including academic help and mental health resources. Living in London can be costly, so budgeting is crucial. Many students choose on-campus or nearby housing to manage expenses. QMUL has excellent networking opportunities through career events and workshops, which can help secure internships or job placements. For international students, scholarships are available. Some may cover part or all of the tuition and even provide living allowances. Apply early, as it's competitive. Adjusting to life in London's multicultural environment may feel like a cultural shift, especially if you're from abroad, but engaging with different people and campus activities ease the transition. Overall, QMUL offers a supportive and inclusive environment that most students find rewarding- your experience will largely depend on how you engage and explore.

Adapting to a competitive and culturally diverse university experience.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that the academic environment is competitive, and on-campus resources are essential for success. Adjusting to the new cultural norms can be challenging, especially in communication style and socializing. I applied for a merit-based scholarship that provided partial tuition. Overall, I am satisfied with the university course and country, but adjusting took time. The educational quality is high, but managing costs and cultural differences can be tough.
Likes (Post study jobs): I read 4 for post-study jobs as soft companies offer decent opportunities including those that sponsor shipwalk visas though availability varies by field job roles are typically in engineering and business with average starting salaries regarding from 30 to 35K per year.
Dislikes (Part time work): I rated three because while part-time opportunities are available on campus they can be limited and competitive. Off-campus jobs are harder to secure for international students as balancing work and academics is challenging and the average pay is moderate around 10 to 15 pounds.

Best Russell Group University.
Tips: There is nothing to worry about while joining QMUL, as you'll be provided with everything. They provide you with an email account where they send all the important information. You just have to keep a lookout on your email. Everything is quite easy to do. The faculty is warm, friendly, understanding and will help you any time. Public transportation is easily accessible and convenient to use. I am satisfied with my experiences.

Good university with supporting and knowledgeable faculty.
Tips: Students should be prepared for a cultural change, as London is very different compared to other cities in India. The weather can be harsh sometimes, and it gets difficult to start early for college during cold weather conditions. Also, check all the scholarship opportunities that are available before starting your journey here. Try joining the college early, as it can increase your chances of getting campus-based accommodation, which is much safer and would make it easier to manage college life with less travelling.

The university is great with lots of opportunities to grow.
Tips: Before coming to Queen Mary University of London, students should check if they are eligible for scholarships and apply for them as soon as possible. Some scholarships are known by university representatives, so be sure to talk to them about them. Shifting to a new country is exciting, but it can also be lonely. Try to socialize as much as you can. Also, make sure to stop converting British pounds to Indian rupees, or you might find the cost of living too expensive and start to feel like you can't enjoy your experience.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is amazing and easy to connect with. They understand that we are already facing difficulty in shifting to a new country, and they are friendly. You can mail them and expect a prompt reply. They are always ready to talk about any query you have, you can be your real self in front of them.
Dislikes (Part time work): Availability of on-campus jobs starts before the start of the course, and at that time not all students realize they need one. By the time we reach the university, all jobs are full, and you need to compete a lot for the available jobs. Payout is amazing as they provide a London living wage. They also provide opportunities for off-campus part-time jobs, but they are for a limited time span, such as 80 hours in total, and cannot be reapplied through the scheme.

Great college environment with friendly people and supportive faculty.
Tips: Queen Mary has a robust ecosystem. I'm incredibly happy with the faculty who have been so kind and considerate of all of us. The facilities that the college offers, like the library, are world-class and provide students with a great safe space to study together and other activities as well.
Likes (Student Life): Queen Mary has a very receptive crowd and faculty. They make you feel welcome from the first day itself and I never felt the need to overtly make friends because everyone was just so nice to each other. I spent a lot of time at the cafe which actually has some incredible food for great prices.
Dislikes (Safety): Mugging rates have increased. My friends and I have faced a lot of crimes in 1 year. Otherwise, as well, London has become pretty unsafe for Indian Subcontinents immigrants. Phone snatching has become very common, making walking alone at night pretty scary.

Pretty expensive and good experience.
Tips: Students should not focus on college rankings. Instead, they should go to LinkedIn and search for students who have taken the same course. Talking with those students will provide the best guidance because the college ranking doesn't reflect the quality of the professors or the college's performance.
Likes (Public transportation): I really like the public transportation in London. The buses and trains run on time, and the tube stations are everywhere. There's a tube station within 10 minutes of my house and my university. The buses are also very convenient, and there's a bus stop within two minutes of everywhere.
Dislikes (Part time work): University will not help you to get part-time, instead, you have to search and apply for it. The university can show you the websites where you have to apply and can show you how to make a CV. They will help you with your CV changes but they can’t send you somewhere to get a job directly.

Fun-loving and multi-dimensional experience at QMUL.
Tips: Make sure to apply and accept your offers promptly. This will give you an advantage to stay at campus-based accommodation, which makes it easier to attend classes and provides a safe environment. I advise you to familiarize yourself and obtain insurance for personal belongings. Managing part-time jobs would also be recommended as the living costs in London are very high.

Overrated with respect to value for the tuition fees being charged.
Tips: There was a drastic cultural shift and it came as a shock and it took me around 6 months to cope up. There was an immense scholarship I could avail and was eligible but wasn't aware. I am not that satisfied with the university as my course was very theoretical and lacked teaching basic financial skills required in the corporate world. The United Kingdom a country was a desired destination to study but over the period it has overcrowded there are very less job opportunities and requires extreme time and energy to land a job that another ideal country wouldn't require.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is amazing and is very well connected. The university is just outside of zone 1 of London and otherwise in core London so its very well connected transport-wise. For an immigrant, it might be expensive but surely value for money as it is 24 X 7 available.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It is a mature market to look out for jobs. The market is filled with over applicants and one does not even get a chance to interview. Mostly the students out here come directly after graduation so the quality of students is also not quite great as they are less industry-experienced. The demographics of the classroom are quite less diverse in tier 2 and below colleges as most of the students are either Indians or Chinese. Investing 20-25 Lacks here and then going back to the country is a very bad investment because in return you are not getting anything fruitful except for the experience of living abroad.

MSc in Economics - Batch of 2023

Great university with good and helpful faculty but limited internship opportunities.
Tips: My course was M.Sc. Economics. I had a very small cohort of 20-24 students, so one can expect a high level of diversity. Therefore, incoming students will need to put in effort to understand different cultures. There are very limited scholarships for any master's degree in the UK. However, the M.Sc. Economics programme has its own scholarship for which every student who applies to the programme is considered. I received this scholarship. It was a partial tuition fee waiver of 10000 Pounds. Overall, I am satisfied with the university.
Likes (Value for money): The tuition fees are quite reasonable, and they are justified by the quality of teaching one receives here. The university also provides ample facilities that will enhance your student experience. The library has sufficient reading material, which means you don't have to wait for books because of unavailability.
Dislikes (Internships): Due to visa restrictions, you can't pursue full-time internships during term time. Additionally, because the master's programme in the UK is only one year long, we don't get many holidays in between the terms to do internships. Hence, don't expect that you will be doing internships during your course.

Lively university campus. More resources and opportunities.
Tips: The university is really good, and the location is too. Be prepared to have jobless days, but the harder we try, the better we will get. I didn't get any scholarship. There's no option for an internship for people who are doing a one-year master's degree. It's not allowed in the curriculum because it is a one-year course. Because of this, you have to convert the internship into part-time, but most companies don't want to do that. The campus is located in a prime spot that is safe and always lively. Plus, the lecturers are highly knowledgeable and are experienced industrial experts. Overall, I'm satisfied with the education, but there aren't any good reviews for the placements. It's a very good place to learn and grow.
Likes (Student Life): London is a very happening place, and there are places to explore. It’s more lively, with good resources and many events happening, which will help students to socialise and network more. There are clubs like the finance club, the ethnic club, and the marketing club. Plus, events related to courses and other activities happen as well.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The UK is in a recession, and London has gotten expensive. There aren’t enough jobs for graduates. Landing a job is hard enough; expecting a sponsor is unrealistic. Marketing and IT jobs are easier to find than ones in finance. Networking is important.

I am happy with the delivery of the course.
Tips: UK is an amazing place to migrate because the transition to this country is very easy. I was on a full scholarship all my expenses were taken care of by the government. of UK. I was a Chevening Scholar and I am very happy with the delivery of the programme. I strongly recommend it.
Likes (Indian Food): If you go to any town or village in the UK you will find Indian food without worry. There are various options under many pricing options. If you don't get a restaurant you will get all Indian groceries and you can cook yourself. So don't worry about food, I prefer cooking myself during my stay.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): For a country like UK to migrate you need to have a sponsorship. A very few employers hire students from universities which depends from programme to programme and the ratio is really low in Law. Very competitive and stringent conditions to migrate. I will be happy to migrate.

There is independent learning and plethora of opportunities
Tips: Queen Mary is the only campus university in the London city which I feel is a plus point. Choosing the right course for yourself is very important for you to succeed in this university. Also, the university has a good recognition by being a part of the Russell group.
Likes (Public transportation): The city is very well connected via underground tubes and buses at a very reasonable price. Just with a student oyster card (rail card), you are free to go wherever you want at a student's discounted price. The public transportation sites are all safe and secured.
Dislikes (Safety): London being not a student town and also the hub of UK, isn’t totally reliable. Students have to make their own way out of danger of any kind. As the crime rate in outer parts of the city is arguably high. Honestly, it’s nothing to be scared about. Majority of the students make their way out of it. Few things to keep in mind are like you have to move in groups wherever you go and try to go where you can identify more people.

Very fulfilling, yet a remote place.
Tips: I came here without knowing what to really expect, but so far I have not been disappointed. You'll get a slightly small-town feel to this place, but campus life is filled with events and games. Have a healthy work-life balance as it is easy to close yourself in the midst of work and assignments.
Dislikes (Internships): Haven't had much luck from the university when it came to internships, and I did land a decent internship in India, but that was also on my own. Professors can help out and keep an updated LinkedIn as well. Attend career fair and you should study the market as well.

Very transformative journey.
Tips: The format for every class is different, but most of them encourage discussion and debates, so whether you like it or not, you'll have to participate. My scholarship of 10,000 USD helped make things a lot more affordable and smoother for me; otherwise, I would not have been able to come here. UNT is a public university where there's a lot of opportunities for International students.
Tips: After moving here, I think it has been very easy to transition. There was no culture shock. I wish they had more scholarships for international students especially Indian students. Though, I am satisfied with the curriculum, and I think it is flexible enough to help students in this day and age.
Likes (Indian Food): We have a lot of Indian restaurants where Indians and International students are crazy about, especially Indian food trucks around the campus have high demand among all the students and on campus communities where it is crowded and busy in the evening times every day.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fee at University of North Texas is expensive compared to other state universities. It is designed as the course structure is labelled. There are different electives to explore in each and every course which is out of their department group.

A supportive and practical learning environment.
Tips: UNT is a public research university in Denton, Texas, with strong programs in business, engineering, computer Science, and the arts. The campus is large and lively, with affordable living costs compared to other U. S. cities. Students should be prepared for a structured but manageable academic workload. Denton is a safe, welcoming college town with easy access to Dallas and Fort Worth. Early engagement with campus resources like the Career Centre and tutoring helps academic success. Transitioning to UNT was smooth. The American education style emphasises participation, critical thinking, and independent work. Professors encourage questions and discussions. The campus diversity made cultural adjustment easier. Support services and student groups for international students provide community and guidance. I received a merit-based International Excellence Scholarship of $4,000 per year, awarded based on my academic record during admission; no separate application was needed. Scholarships at UNT help reduce tuition and are renewable with good academic performance. I'm very satisfied with UNT. The courses are relevant and taught by experienced professors. Facilities like labs and libraries support learning well. Career fairs and networking events provide good industry exposure. The campus life is vibrant and inclusive, and Denton's affordability is a big plus. Overall, UNT offers a strong academic and cultural experience.

A perfect blend of academic excellence, global exposure, and personal growth.
Tips: Students should know that this college focuses strongly on both academic excellence and overall personal development. It is important to be proactive, manage your time well, and take advantage of the wide range of resources and networking opportunities provided. When I first joined, I did experience a cultural shift, especially adapting to a more independent and research-oriented study approach compared to my previous education. It took some time, but the support from faculty and peer groups made the transition smooth.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The campus environment is vibrant, inclusive, and full of opportunities to grow personally and professionally. My typical day includes attending interactive classes, group discussions, working on lab projects, and spending time at student clubs. I particularly enjoy the collaborative culture and the events organised regularly, from tech fests and cultural programs to hackathons and speaker sessions. The campus hosts various student-run clubs related to coding, robotics, arts, entrepreneurship, and more, allowing everyone to pursue their interests and connect with like-minded peers.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The professors are not only highly qualified but also very accessible and supportive. They encourage open discussions, offer regular office hours, and are always willing to mentor students beyond the classroom. The teaching methodology involves a balanced mix of theory and hands-on learning, including case studies, live projects, and interactive seminars, which helps bridge the gap between academics and industry expectations. The faculty is diverse, with members from different nationalities and professional backgrounds, bringing global perspectives into the classroom.

This is the most affordable and best university in Denton.
Tips: This college has a lot of Indian students and faculty. If you want to experience the culture of Native Americans and interact with them, you might want to go to a different university. However, if you like Indian food, this is the place for you. There is a lot of competition for a few positions. To get an internship, you need to have the right skills and knowledge. Unlike India, this country seeks to employ people who have core skills in the particular subject they are dealing with.
Likes (Indian Food): There are more than 30 Indian restaurants in Denton, as well as many Indian grocery stores and food trucks. You can even find Pakistani and other Asian cuisines in some places. It's a great place to try a variety of Indian food.

Vibrant transition to this place.
Tips: Before coming to UNT, know it's a lively place with lots to do. Adjusting here means getting used to a new culture, which can be fun but tricky. I didn't get any scholarships, but UNT offers them based on different things. Overall, I'm happy here. The classes are interesting, and there's always something going on, but getting used to American life took some time.
Likes (Student Life): I rate a student life a 4 because it's lively and diverse. A typical day involves classes, hanging out with friends, and attending club meetings or campus events. I love the sense of community and the variety of activities available. Events range from concerts to academic conferences and I try to participate when I can. UNT has a wide range of student clubs catering to various interests, making it easy to get involved.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time work at UNT offers opportunities but can be a bit challenging to balance with academics. Vibrant opportunities with room for growth
Tips: Before coming to UNT, it's important to know that it's a lively place with lots of opportunities, but it's not perfect. Adjusting here was both thrilling and challenging, especially with the cultural difference. I didn't apply for any scholarships, but UNT does not offer them based on different criteria. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my time here. My course is interesting, and being in the US has been eye-opening, though it's taken some getting used to.
Likes (Internships): I rated internships at UNT a 3 because there's some support available, but it could be improved. Advisors and career services offer assistance, but it's not always customized. The internships available vary in relevance to my field of study; some are a great fit, while others might not be as closely related.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I rated food options from my country of origin a 2 because they're not as widely available in Denton. Local restaurants offer a mix of cuisines, from Mexican to barbecue, with prices ranging from budget-friendly to more upscale. I enjoy eating out for the variety, but I also like cooking at home when I have the time.

Tips: Before picking UNT, explore its community vibe and what it offers. Moving here was cool, but adapting to norms was tricky. I got a scholarship for good grades. The university is pretty good, the courses are interesting, the country's hills and you can find some good Indian restaurants here.

Thriving at my college: A satisfying journey
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know about campus facilities, academic programs, extracurricular activities, and campus culture. After transitioning here, I experienced some cultural shifts, but I adapted over time. I received a scholarship by working as a teaching assistant, which waived my 50% of the course fees. Overall, I am very satisfied with my university, course and country.
Likes (Indian Food): The rating of 5 was give for food options from my country of origin because there are several Indian restaurants like Desi Adda, Namasthey Denton, Babai band etc. offering a wide variety of Indian cuisine. The average pricing at these restaurants is around $20 per person. However, as a student, I prefer cooking myself because it is more affordable than eating outside.
Dislikes (Public transportation): I rated the public transport 3 because it is okay and needs to be improved, there is a service called "go zone" with which we can travel in Denton and also in Lewisville with just 2 dollars for each booking, apart from that if you want to travel to other places public transport will not be helpful.

Diverse culture, several opportunities!
Tips: The university offers diverse culture and opportunities to its students. The faculty members at UNT are quite helpful and friendly. As per my journey till now, I have been introduced to so many wonderful peers and professors, all of them rooting for my successful career in Data Analytics. The campus life is not dull, you can join several clubs to meet and greet new people. There is only one problem, that is parking. Since there are a lot of students enrolled, it is difficult to find a parking spot after the morning classes. So if you are planning to take your own vehicle, try to be here as early as possible!
Likes (Value for money): I would say UNT is good value for international students, as it provides quality education. The professors are very good and knowledgeable. They hold good academic and industry experience and are quite helpful. However, if you feel it is expensive for you to study at UNT, you can enroll on various scholarships offered by the university.
Dislikes (Internships): To land on a good internship opportunity at UNT is a bit difficult. However, you can enrol on various courses organised by UNT, such as resume or cover letter workshops, mock interviews, etc. To help you upscale your skills. Personally, I connected with a lot of university alumni in my field to get a good internship opportunity at their company or startup. After contacting them, I received a few good opportunities from the alumni. If this approach does not work out for you, you can also take part in various events organised by the university to get an internship with the industry partners of UNT.

Great Alumni base, supportive faculty and life at UNT.
Tips: UNT is welcoming, clean and full of opportunities. The faculty and staff are incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and supportive. My interactions with the dedicated staff members and mentors proved to be transformative. The best thing about UNT is its extremely diverse student population. I also appreciate the variety of academic programs and extracurricular activities available. During my time at UNT, I feel I really developed myself and I am grateful for the opportunity. I highly endorse UNT, if you are thinking about it!
Likes (Public transportation): UNT campus is quite huge and car parking is difficult to find during peak hours. Also, the parking pass is quite expensive. Bus is the cheaper option to travel and additionally, you do not have to worry about searching for a parking spot. Also the pick-drop to college is free provided you show them the student ID of the university.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The professors at UNT are amiable and experienced in the subject matter they teach. However, some professors at UNT push political views which could have a negative effect on some students. Besides that, the professors encouraged critical thinking, promoted engaging discussions and provided valuable insights. I was impressed by their expertise and their willingness to support students.

Be patient, this is a great place to be.
Tips: Try to land an on-campus opportunity because that way you'll be getting a good allowance and fee waiver. Keep an eye on events that are happening in the university and please go through the official mail if you come to UNT. The documentation process is a bit cumbersome, come with a bit of patience. The good professors are always in demand so be there in their classes early as all the seats get filled. If you are coming for an IT or CS major then it's high time! Frisco Dallas is blooming and booming with top companies and I'm sure that if you have the skills, you'll land a good job here! You'll also get a SIM from the university but don't use that sometimes its network is not good so is the data service, get yours from outside! It is a bit pricy but definitely worth it. Oh! And there's also a vegan cafeteria on campus which made me feel good every time I passed by. All in all, it was a good experience for me and has helped me to be where I am today.
Likes (Student Life): The college has many students coming from diverse backgrounds so it was always a treat to interact with mates in and out of classrooms, got to learn so much about different cultures and countries via word of mouth. UNT has many student clubs too, since my graduation many things have changed and they've become better only, more structured. Campus bustle during Superball games, Basketball, Basketball is good and it was always an adrenaline rush to cheer alongside Scrappy the eagle which is the college Mascot. Outside of the campus too, nightlife is pretty good. I don't think that a student coming from any part of the world will feel bored in and around the university.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are not many Indian restaurants in Denton. Back when I started studying in UNT, if I or my friends ever craved Indian food, we had to travel to Dallas or Forth Worth and both of these cities were around 40 miles from Denton. Gradually, Sangam restaurant opened in Denton and I've had food there which as per my taste buds is good! I wasn't expecting that since there aren't many Indian restaurants around and surprisingly, the monopoly turned out to be good. Biryani and samosas are good there. Now Indian green can treat their buds without having to travel too far.
