Excellent faculty and a diverse environment.
Tips: I have more freedom, less judgment and safety for women helped me experience more good things like travelling both locally & internationally. You have to do everything alone, and everything takes time due to bureaucracy, which teaches independence, patience, and perseverance. Loneliness does hit hard, especially during festivals and the winter season, but that is common and natural for international students to experience. There are many ways to deal with it. I have become more confident and sure of myself after coming here. It's a completely different country with different societal norms, people, and culture. So yes, I did experience a cultural shift. People here are colder as compared to Indians. They are more reserved. One cannot make friends with them easily, especially not without learning the language. No scholarship. Very satisfied with all three. It has its ups and downs but I am happy.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Accessible via email. You cannot call their personal number. They are approachable to a certain extent. We have a lot of practical exercises that complement the theory very nicely. The assignments and exams are very application-oriented. They make you think, even though a lot of questions are theory-heavy too. It's a good balance. Not diverse. All my professors are German. But the class is very diverse. Half the students are usually from India.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Most are restaurants serving food like pizza, done, and burgers. There are other Asian restaurants, like Vietnamese and Thai. Indian restaurants are also there. But they are not as frequent as the Western ones. I prefer cooking food myself. It saves money. I do meal prep, which saves time and energy.

Growing, learning, and finding my place.
Tips: Students should know that the college is academically strong and the workload can get intense, so time management really matters. When I first came here, the transition was smooth but there was definitely a cultural shift. People are very independent, straightforward, and everyone minds their own space. It took me a bit to adjust but eventually I learned to handle things on my own and became more confident. I didn't get any scholarships personally, though the university does offer options depending on your profile. I'm quite satisfied with my university, my course, and the country. The environment feels safe, the teaching quality is good, and the course matches what I wanted for my career.
Dislikes (Part time work): The student life here is genuinely enjoyable and balanced. My days usually start with classes followed by group study sessions, small campus hangout or grabbing coffee with friends. What I enjoy the most is how lively yet peaceful the campus feels. The college regularly organizes cultural events, academic talks, sports days, and small community meetups. I don't attend everything, but I join the ones that interest me. There are also many student clubs, cultural clubs, research groups, sports teams international student communities so it's easy to find something you vibe with and feel included.

The Masters program experience at the University of Bonn was great.
Tips: Going abroad really made me more independent and I got better at work. The academics were awesome. Since it was a research-focused course with lots of options it helped me get the skills I needed in my field. The city and people were super welcoming and friendly.
Likes (Part time work): I have been working as a student assistant in one of the working groups at my University. As per my knowledge the minimum wage now is nearly 14 euros per hour, in institutes. It depends on the available vacancy and definitely the professor's impression of you, whether you manage to get it or not. The work was really flexible. I have no personal experience regarding off-campus part-time jobs. However, I have heard that knowing the language probably the A2 level is really important in fetching them.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The Indian restaurants are not as authentic as how they are in India. In addition, food is really costly with a minimum of 12 euros. You can find Korean, Pakistani and Arabic Restaurants too apart from German. I prefer cooking by myself. However if it is difficult due to the curriculum, I would opt for the University canteen which is amazing.

New beginnings and beautiful rewards.
Tips: It can be stressful at the start but that's all, since it's new and you'll have to adjust. You might notice a lot of new cultures, behaviour and ways of living but it's all worth the experience. With time everything settles and you'll start enjoying the beauty, calm and company you form along the way.
Likes (Safety): It's pretty safe no matter where you are in the city and on campus. Apart from regular campus security, there are well lit walkways, safe during the evening too, emergency contact points and a quick response safety team that's always available. Walking back home alone has always felt comfortable.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The public transportation here is very manageable but not exceptional. The campus is connected to the main parts of the city through buses and trams but the frequency can be inconsistent at certain times and mostly on the weekends. The system is safe delays could be expected at any time of the day.

Challenges, changes, and growth in Germany.
Tips: There will definitely be cultural shocks, including civic sense, food ethics, traffic rules, language barriers, night life, time management, independence, individualistic life choices, personal space and code of conduct. Rules to abide by, waste management. One has to be strong, confident, and ready to accept to lot of new changes in the structure of their life to be able to live a happy life in Germany. But there is a lot to learn and in the long run it gives a better shape to your personal as well as professional life. I didn't avail any scholarship. It required me to have a certain level of German proficiency. The level of my university is good, so it pushes me to put more effort. In that sense, I am happy with my experience.
Likes (Indian Food): There are plenty of options available around which include both South and North Indian cuisines. There are many Indian stores from where you can buy Indian groceries and cook them at home. So you get both options of cooking at home as well as eating out.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Post study job situation has plummeted after the economic recession hit Germany. I do not have any exact figure of how many companies sponsor visas and the salary packages vary a lot, city to city and company to company, according to your domain but overall the market has definitely tightened.

Very amazing faculty and student life.
Tips: Be prepared to be as active and involved as much as you can; these things make learning easier. There are no doubt cultural shifts, which are natural, but I guess one should take all of this in a positive aspect, and try to be as involved as possible to enjoy to the fullest. They have a BCGS scholarship programme, so you can apply for that.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): International student hub, diverse culture, social activities, events. It would be good to have some conversational knowledge of German beforehand to fully indulge in college life and events. A student gym, wellness activities are there and events in the Student dorms are also there.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Very friendly and adjusting faculty. Ready to help, separate office hours. Each course also has separate tutors, so students can easily clarify their doubts. A good experience, but students should remember that they put in their effort as much as possible.

Great opportunity with low tuition fees. Plan your courses and thesis.
Tips: Had the opportunity to experience various cultures. Staying in a different country by ourselves is tough, and it took me time to get used to the climate. I am, in general, very satisfied with the courses and the country. Learning the German language can be very beneficial, but the university does not offer enough places in its German course.
Likes (Public transportation): The city of Bonn is, in general, well connected, with trams and buses. The student ID gives access to public transport. But I heard that it has gotten harder to find accommodation, and people are finding it in remote areas of Bonn. This makes it tricky to travel to campus every day.
Dislikes (Internships): At least, when I studied, the Physics department was conservative in its practices. It was not easy to convince the department and finish related paperwork for an internship/thesis outside the university. Finding an internship depends on our planning. Germany offers internship opportunities in various subfields of Physics.

A warehouse of experiences and learnings.
Tips: The modules are designed in a way that gives you flexibility, so choosing the modules is crucial. Choosing a path before joining is also important, so you want to go on academia or go into industry. That will shape your modules. Knowing the fact that 1st semester is difficult for everyone. So, working very hard in the first sem will be very beneficial. Start searching for jobs in the second semester. 1st semester is to settle here, get to know things. Coming to Europe has its perks, like a good lifestyle or travelling through countries but the 1st priority should be studies. Bonn has taught me a lot. Being responsible is one of them. Through modules and projects, I have shaped myself in the financial industry.
Likes (Student Life): Student life here is a good package of international exposure, studies and experiences. Through living in dorms, we get to have various experiences by cooking together, making new friends, celebrating festivals and also studying together. University life is a good mix of local and other nationalities. Particularly, for Bonn, the faculty is very good, and the modules are well articulated with many options in electives.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Being a vegetarian, there are limited options in Indian food as well. It's always better to cook for ourselves as the restaurant doesn't have the value of money and taste, also not as expected. The restaurants are expensive for a student's budget. However, eating out once a week is totally okay.

The courses are difficult yet rewarding.
Tips: Courses are difficult, so be prepared for difficult assignments and a lot of hard work. Since we come from a different background, it is challenging to get accustomed to the education system here. Especially the compulsory subjects are difficult, so be ready to spend a lot of hours studying. That being said, the course is very rewarding and you get good internships or a teaching assistantship as a part time job.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation fee is included in the student semester fees (twice a year). So you don't need to pay extra for public transportation. Public transport is very well connected in the entire Germany and the app works fine too. Available modes are bus, tram and underground trains.
Dislikes (Indian Food): As a vegetarian, it is challenging to find options in Germany in general. There are indian stores and restaurant but finding authentic restaurants is a challenge. However, you can find all ingredients if you are comfortable cooking. I do like eating outside but limited, mostly cooking is the best option.

On-campus university jobs are rare.
Tips: The academic jump between India and Germany was huge, in terms of the syllabus, assignments and methods of teaching. This was hard in the beginning. The cultural shift was interesting too, but Bonn is a student city with people all over the world, so it wasn't hard to get used to. I am extremely satisfied with the university, city and country.
Likes (Student Life): Weekdays are usually paced with classes and assignments. Weekends are spent with friends and neighbours or exploring the city. We have to do our chores ourselves. There are not as many student events or clubs as compared to India, a few only.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus university jobs are rare. There are opportunities in the library and copy room, but German students are preferred here. Some labs are also there that have paid work, but again rare. Although there are tons of off-campus work opportunities. Both in companies and labs. And also things like delivery, restaurants, etc. The usual choice among students is 10 hours of part-time work a week. This is manageable. Even 4-5 hours is allowed, which gives more time for studies. Up to 20 hours a week is legally allowed. The average pay is 12-15 euros/hour. For 10 hours, it covers the monthly expenses well, providing a normal lifestyle where we cook for ourselves and are not extravagant.

Bonn is a very safe city with an extremely low crime rate.
Tips: It is good to know that STEM departments in Bonn are uncharacteristically rigorous and academically demanding even by German standards. I studied in an excellent Indian university and was generally familiar with most of my master's level curriculum but still struggled substantially with my exams in Bonn. In part, this is because failing courses in Germany is not taboo. Most people take at least one extra semester to graduate. Consequently, professors do not shy away from failing students either. I was awarded the Bonn-Cologne Graduate Scholarship which paid me 1000 euros every month. Other perks of the scholarship included guaranteed subsidized housing in a nice neighbourhood and expedited visa processing. The amount of funding that the University of Bonn receives for research and the sincerity with which research groups are organized are leagues above the resources that students in Indian universities can access. Being in the EU also makes it very easy to travel to nearby countries such as Switzerland, France, Portugal, etc. This allows students to network in conferences and workshops quite easily.
Likes (Safety): Bonn is a very safe city with an extremely low crime rate. In my two years there, I have not heard a single instance of theft, violence or talking. There is also campus police and ample of organisations to report violations. Germans take the law very seriously.
Dislikes (Part time work): I was on a full scholarship throughout my two years there and worked as a research assistant and academic tutor. These jobs were guaranteed to me via my scholarship contact. However, if one is unable to find an academic part-time job, then working in cafes or grocery stores. It might be necessary to have a working proficiency in German.

Supportive faculty at the University of Bonn.
Tips: Know what you want to do in life, the career paths you are going to choose, what makes you happy and at the same time earns money for you. Learn German it opens many doors for you. Try to find a mini/part-time job so that you are not exhausting your block account. A degree should provide you with essential skills that should land you a job. Tailor your master's programme accordingly.
Likes (Public transportation): In Germany, the Deutschland Ticket allows affordable travel on most public transport nationwide. The University of Bonn provides this ticket upon enrollment. Note that it does not cover long distance trains like ICE or EC. For them, you have to provide additional costs.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): German is key for securing jobs outside academia, where full-time well-paid positions are standard. In academia, limited German is often acceptable if you're proficient in your field. However doctoral studies-the most sought-after academic positions are typically part-time (50-60%), unless exceptions apply.

A journey of learning and belonging.
Tips: The main transition I had to undergo was the vast difference in weather and the shorter days. People keep to themselves mostly unless asked for help, and that might lead to feeling lonely at times. I did not apply for any scholarships. I am satisfied with my course structure, although it was quite hectic compared to my peers in other fields of natural sciences.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): So far, I have not had any major issues with my residence permit applications. The waiting time could be subject to your area or city but I would rate my chances of getting a permanent residence in Germany quite high. And when the right time comes, I might also seriously consider getting citizenship.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Usually, the options of meals in India are very varied, which might be a little bit of a cultural shock after coming to Germany, therefore I mostly get my cravings of that warm bowl of daal and price satisfied by cooking at home. Although there are a couple of good Indian restaurants in Bonn, but a little on the pricey end.

Inside MSc Astrophysics at Bonn.
Tips: There is an option to get scholarships under the BCGS framework but it is extremely competitive. The transition from an Indian system of education to the German one is significantly tougher than I had initially presumed. The course structure is awfully hard and the pace can sometimes overwhelm students. But it's an absolute goldmine for those who love this subject.
Likes (Student Life): A lot of student organizations regularly meet at different events and parties. They make sure you feel included. Lots of Beer, free pizzas and barbecue parties, board games, sports and politics are all very common here. You will never feel bored but you may feel overwhelmed.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian food restaurants usually make Indian food in a 'western style'. Authentic Indian food is costly and rare. Excellent university for starting a research or industry career in Neuroscience.
Tips: Learning German helps a lot, not during the course but after. Most jobs although in English require candidates to also speak German. Also helps to better integrate into society if planning long term here. I did get a scholarship but it is not available anymore. There are many other opportunities to gain like working as a student assistant in a lab for a thesis helped a lot in my case, money wise and professionally. I'm fully satisfied with my course and university. I even pursued my Ph.D. here after Masters and am continuing as a Postdoc researcher here at University of Bonn.
Likes (Indian Food): University Bonn is international and there are always activities going on throughout the year. Bonn is diverse and is excellent for student life. There are German language courses offered by the university for free for the university students. There are career talks, tutorials for students in courses and much more support from the university side.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Excellent infrastructure and research environment. Friendly faculty and faced equal attention from all faculty. Almost all courses offer hands on experience with techniques that are being taught. Lab-oriented courses and practical experience will be heavy. MSc in Economics - Batch of 2025

One of the leading universities for studying economics in Germany.
Tips: Before joining, applicants should be well versed with the courses taught and should do a little preparation so that they are prepared for the courses to be taught. M.Sc. in Economics is highly academic-oriented and is mathematically inclined, hence students should be prepared to do courses that involve a lot of math concepts. There are scholarships available and students should apply within the deadline to get a chance to avail them.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport is well connected and it is the cheapest form of transportation for students. As a student, our semester fee includes transportation costs so we can access all modes of public transportation for free. The semester ticket gives access to all local and regional transport within Germany.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There aren't a lot of Indian restaurants in Bonn, and the available Indian restaurants are somewhat expensive for Indians. There are some Indian grocery stores in Bonn, so there are options to buy Indian groceries, and cooking food yourself is more cost-saving. I think as a student it is expensive to eat outside every day, hence, learning to cook is an essential life skill needed to survive in Germany.

Most supportive and friendly college I ever been to.
Tips: Students should be familiar with the things they need to do after coming here such as doing city registration, opening a bank account, and adapting to the food and lifestyle of the natives. Also, it is better if they have basic knowledge of German. Moreover, the teaching patterns and lab rotations also are a bit different here.
Likes (Value for money): We don't really have to pay the tuition fees and the semester contribution fees that we pay include the public transportation for a large area so we get to travel a lot. Moreover, they also provide such a good atmosphere for study, use innovative techs for teaching and the internet and campus facilities which really makes it a great course to study.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The teaching faculty is great here. Most of them are Germans, so there can be problems with the accent for the Indians sometimes but that is rare. Moreover, most of them are quite friendly and also very serious about the subjects they teach. Sometimes some of them can be very strict with grading but since it's a course with restricted admissions you get to interact and learn more.

Best public university for student life.
Tips: Be ready to accept changes. The college will provide you with new opportunities and chances but you'll have to put yourself out there and make yourself available. The more connections you have, the more opportunities you have for your desired future.
Likes (Public transportation): It's always on time and very spacious and comfortable. There's always a place to sit and the temperatures are also very manageable. You get special assistance in case you are disabled and the announcements and LED screens provide you with all the needed help.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Eating outside is an option but the costs are relatively cheap when compared to other German cities. Can cook food at home. You'll have to find Turkish markets that offer you groceries at cheaper rates. There are many Italian, Turkish, and German restaurants but eating outside every day is not feasible.

Great university and people.
Tips: Very multicultural and inclusive. I did not avail a scholarship. The course is very theoretical but great even for students looking for a corporate job. The syllabus is well-formed and extremely useful. There is scope for a personal project and guidance throughout.
Likes (Public transportation): Trams and buses are all well connected. All trams and buses pass through the University. It is very affordable. The Deutschland ticket is included in the semester, so the students do not have to worry about the ticket cost.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Mostly Turkish, there are student bars, but people travel to Berlin. But you'd also find Italian and Asian restaurants. Since options are limited here, we cook at home. There are plenty of grocery stores, and prices seem low.

Dynamic and multicultural university.
Tips: Managing your things by yourself. Taking care of your health is your first priority, because getting a doctor's appointment is not easy and takes days. You cannot simply walk into any doctor's office to get the treatment. I didn’t get any scholarship. I was very satisfied with my university, moderately satisfied with my Integrated Automation department, very satisfied with my course, and moderately satisfied with the country.
Likes (Value for money): The tuition fees for my course were less than 100 per semester, which includes the city public transportation. Apart from that, there were no other fees. Depending on how many semesters you complete your course, the average is five semesters and the fees are around 500 which is totally fair.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time jobs within the campus are very selective. You can work with the professor in your department for research related activities, but very limited such jobs exist. For off campus jobs like working in a pizza place, bread factory, in Hermes for truck loading/unloading, at Domino’s, or delivery jobs are available plenty, but since every student is looking for part time it’s not guaranteed that you will get one easily. But you have to keep trying and visiting job agencies every week. Part-time job is totally manageable as one can work two days weekly, 7-8 days monthly to manage their total monthly expenses. But working part time in the first semester is not recommended at all.

Can complete your studies here, even on a budget.
Tips: A lot to learn as Germany follows strict rules even in everyday life. I did not receive any scholarship. Pretty satisfied with the course and the country. The difficulty of the subjects completely depends on the course taken. My course has pretty easy subjects but there are courses with difficult subjects.
Likes (Value for money): The city is located in a state that has one of the lowest rents in Germany. So you will save a lot on rent. Also transportation across the country will be free, as the ticket is included in the semester fee. Not technically free tho as the fee is added to the semester fee.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Not many good Indian restaurants in the city. There are many Arabic, Vietnamese and Turkish restaurants nearby which are cheap and where I occasionally eat. Other good restaurants are there as well but not as cheap. I normally prefer cooking myself but 2-3 times a month, I eat outside.

Amazing university with versatile courses.
Tips: Definitely, a cultural shift is observed in a very diverse city. I didn't get any scholarship during my studies but I was working at odd jobs for my monthly expenses and it was very easy to manage studies and work. I am pretty satisfied with the course; the only concern was that we had a batch of more than 100 students, hence it was more of an Indian batch rather than being international with hardly any Germans.
Likes (Public transportation): The city is well connected with the trams and buses, hardly need to walk more than a KM anywhere but still people prefer to have a bicycle, including students. Bicycles are allowed inside trams. The public transport is very affordable ever since the government launched the Deutsch Ticket, worth 58 Euros monthly.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Hardly 2-3 restaurants in the whole city and also the pricing is too high if you are a student. The food taste is also not typically Indian; it is a mix of German and Indian tastes. I had hardly visited those restaurants in 3 years. In my opinion, Indian restaurants in other cities are much better than these.

Strong academics and friendly campus.
Tips: Courses are good. My course, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is a little bit difficult. So you have to prepare for the exams. Every exams are hand written in the classroom. Not an online exam, no submission grades. I had no scholarship and actually didn't need one because it is a public university. One of the most affordable cities is Magdeburg and near the Elbe River.
Likes (Public transportation): Transport is completely free. It is included in semester fees. Well connected buses and trams. The city is also connected by regional trains. Almost every day, I use public transport. Every next bus and tram comes every 10 mins. Public transport is very convenient and modern. No need to buy a car.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Only 3-4 Indian restaurants in Magdeburg. The bill comes to approximately 15-20 per person. We mostly go to Berlin which is 2.5hr from Magdeburg. In Berlin, one can get all types of Indian restaurants, like Punjabi and South Indian. One more Good thing is, in Magdeburg there are 3 Indian grocery shops where we can get almost every Indian item.

No tuition fee for M.Sc. at OVGU Magdeburg since it is a public university.
Tips: One should have a sufficient German knowledge at least A2 or B1. Prepare mentally to face challenges in social and private life. Making good friends is highly important. Be active in studies and career oriented activities like internships & research.
Likes (Value for money): No tuition fee for M.Sc. at OVGU Magdeburg since it is a public university. However a justifiable semester fee which includes facilities like public transport and student facilities exists. This semester's fee goes towards discounted hostel stays, laundry services, discounted food at the canteen for students as well as to maintain the student organisation and its activities to support international students.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus part time jobs are available in certain departments as student research assistants or work students depending on one's capabilities. It is not hard to manage part time with studies. The average payout can be between 14 and 20 Euros per hour.

The university is friendly and amazing.
Tips: I am fully satisfied with my course and my university, but not with the country. Here, 90 percent of people only speak German, even though they know English. So that's the only thing that's making me disappointed. Otherwise this country is good to leave. I studied at a public university. So less tuition fees.
Likes (Safety): I feel safe here in Germany. Because my part time work ends at 8 pm. Normally I have evening shifts and when I come home after my work, I feel safe. Especially during the summer time, here daylight is more than night. So during Summer days, 8 pm feels like day.
Dislikes (Internships): I applied for more than 100 applications, but still full of rejections. Recommendation and Reference works more here. It is better to make connections to the people who is working in your field is a good strategy. Make your German skills stronger, like C1.

The university is great with highly qualified faculty in each department.
Tips: There is always a cultural shift when one moves from their native country to a new one. In Germany, life may feel lower but one can quickly adjust. The Indian community is strong and will be more than willing to help fellow countrymen. I am highly satisfied with my experience and have learnt and grown so much compared to when living in India.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is highly qualified and knowledgeable based on my experience. Each faculty member has contributed to multiple research topics and they are experts in their field of research. The faculty happens to be an excellent guide to the students. The faculty does provide research topics and guidance to students and they are easily approachable when the student has the necessary qualifications.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): This depends on the German Government and the immigration department. This is different for each case. At this stage, I believe my chances are uncertain. As a student, I have not yet entered the full-time job market or experienced the visa transition process. Factors such as securing relevant employment, meeting salary thresholds, and improving German language skills will play a significant role. Therefore, I do not consider myself the right person to accurately evaluate my chances yet. I am open to the idea, but my decision would depend on future circumstances such as career opportunities, work environment, and overall quality of life in Germany. Since I am still in the early stage of my journey, I would prefer to gain more experience before making a long-term commitment.

Academics and culture-oriented.
Tips: Do research about the city and university, and surroundings so that you will get to know what to face in the days when you move here. I didn't get any scholarship. I really liked my time in the university and the course was really helpful for my career and the country has created a huge positive impact on my own life.
Likes (Student Life): College is a mix of both international and local students, so it helps learn the culture and have a great social life. There are multiple Indian communities that host all traditional events and there are international cultural days as well. There are clubs for academics, cultural and sports.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian food restaurant options in Magdeburg are really less and do not taste great as well. There are Indian grocery stores where we can get all the things that we get in India. Since I prefer cooking, I didn't face any issue but still, the options as a restaurant are really less.

Tips: Firstly, before joining OVGU, a bit of German will be helpful as well since this is a Universität, and we have to study more theoretically than practically. An incredible journey of personal and academic growth.
Tips: University and degree are really good. The best four years of my life in Germany, Magdeburg. I was a work student in Berlin which paid good money for my living in Germany and also I lived in a WG which turned out to be the best decision I made in years, where I completely enjoyed.
Likes (Part time work): You get plenty of part time jobs, Amazon, Hermes, GLS, or any other IT companies that serve in the northern Germany region and also you get at least the minimum wage of 14 which is excellent since you can get most of your expenses covered with that money.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Cooking for myself and eating expensive Indian food in restaurants. It was honestly the best experience so far with cooking by myself, positioning the food and meals for the whole week, getting to taste European cuisines while living with others was completely wonderful.

Multidimensionally subject-oriented with friendly peers.
Tips: Obviously when you are coming to Germany, you have to learn the German language, and you have to be punctual. Germans prefer to work early in the morning so they can get free time in the evening and they use that time for themselves. There are some chances to get the scholarships but in Germany most of the universities are public so you do not need to pay the extra fees for tuition.
Likes (Safety): Everyone is safe because the people are very disciplined and they follow the rules so no need to worry about safety; people do not judge here. I personally do not have any experiences of good and bad but I heard some of my friends have very good helping people who helped them during their accommodation problems.
Dislikes (Internships): Some courses offer the mandatory internships where the university guides you to find and help you get into that environment, while some courses do not offer so you have to find internships for yourself. Most commonly the available internships are directly relevant to the internships.

Hardly any opportunities are provided.
Tips: I would suggest that everyone learn German before coming here. One should be independent. The shops here close by 8 pm so if you are someone who is a fan of nightlife, this is not the place for you and it can get a bit depressing if you are not mentally strong.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation in general is very good in Europe. In Germany, it's really good, well-connected to all the places. One does not need a car per se, as in other places abroad like Australia or Canada. Having a bike is also optional, and the semester ticket basically takes you everywhere.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): You have to find everything yourself. There is no one to spoon-feed, also, there are no on-campus hiring so you need to be active and find jobs yourself. There are some events for networking but it depends on the field of your interest. One needs to be really active here.

The university was most centric around a research-based institute.
Tips: This is a public University. There is no tuition fee; there is a semester fee associated, which helps you get a semester ticket including a transportation pass within the university locality. There are a lot of cultural shifts in terms of education and socialising. Most importantly, network building will help you land a good job. I am very much satisfied with the course that I took. Also, the university was the one that I shortlisted in the past after thorough research. Also, Germany as a country is a very safe place, and education is one of the most prestigious things in this country, and also economically it is the top in Europe, which can help you get good job prospects.
Likes (Student Life): I spend my day at University by attending lectures and practical classes. I enjoy attending classes with my friends and preparing for exams. Cooking food at home with friends after college. Discussing complex topics that were not understood. This really helps make us connected together and was definitely the best part of student life abroad. There are various job fair events conducted on campus, usually called "Job Mess" around October when the winter semester starts. I often participate by attending the campus after lectures and manage my time accordingly. I was usually part of the "SI@finance" campus club. It helps international students guide them through their journey in student life, about the study structure, and how to take up subjects each semester.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There is an Indian restaurant located a few kilometres away from the University. It is accessible by tram. However, there are many food eateries just opposite the university campus. I usually prefer buying groceries and cooking at home by myself, as it requires little skill to cook at home, where you set out. Also, it brings a sense of independence to manage food on one's own, which each individual refers to.

An eye-opening experience.
Tips: Try to focus on making connections in the university. The university itself is more research oriented, and the faculty are good. The courses are well structured and can sometimes be challenging with the amount of weekly assignments. It is definitely not easy to get a full time role after graduation, as you have to make sure that you develop industry relevant skills on your own.
Likes (Public transportation): Tram and bus options are really good. For a small city, the connectivity is really good, and you don't have to worry about walking for long. I would recommend getting a second hand cycle as there are situations when the transport company workers go on strike.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The university doesn't really offer many full-time jobs, as it doesn't have many collaborations with companies. Students are able to get HiWi jobs in the university itself, but the city also offers very less opportunities for working student jobs.

Tips: There was a cultural shift regarding the teaching methodology and opportunities for learning. And haven't experienced much in the initial years because of COVID. But the University helped us a lot with easing rules and regulations. Haven't used any scholarship. I'm very satisfied with the university, but the course was okay as it was very long.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty were always available via email to book an appointment. And open to ideas about projects. The course had a lot of lab work, which was mandatory, which helped in getting the practical idea of the course and subjects. There are professors from multiple countries, as far as I remember. But not more than 50%.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are not a great number of Indian restaurants, and the ones that are were a bit expensive. I used to cook by myself. We can get all the Indian ingredients to cook, and everything is available. Due to a lack of options, I preferred to cook.

The college is pretty good and very international.
Tips: I have become very patient and peaceful after coming here. Learnt to deal with everyday problems in a more stable and decent manner without escalations. The major cultural shift was in the food and language. Apart from that, due to strict timings of all the supermarkets and shops, one has to learn to plan ahead regarding buying groceries/other utilities.
Likes (Value for money): Very low or negligible tuition fees. The benefits received for paying the fees are very justified. The city is very student friendly, and there are basically discounts on everything if you are a student there. The rents are very affordable, and one can lead a very calm and peaceful life in the city.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are not many big industries, but the city is very close to industrial and start-up hubs like Berlin and Wolfsburg. With a solid German language, there is a high probability of landing jobs in medium scale industries located in the city. The salary packages range from around 42,000 to 50,000 euros per year before tax.
