Don't romanticize the struggles but prepare for a stressful but rewarding experience.

Tips: The university is very liberal, so sometimes viewing things from another perspective can be seen in a negative way. There was a sentence from my tutor, at the very first meeting of the year, that summarises the entire course: 'You get what you put into it'. If you work hard and put your effort into getting as much as possible out of the course, it will be a great experience. The subways and buses get you anywhere. All public transportation is easy to use and get familiar with. There is also the option to get a complete transportation pass, which you can travel on most public transportation with for free, if you're under 25.

Dislikes (Internships): There is not much guidance regarding internships. They are only mentioned occasionally, and the career service does not do a great job. It's not a target school for all subjects, so that might depend on your course. The study trip to Brussels is a good opportunity to network, but it might not be relevant for non-European students.

Education along with personality development.

Tips: Glasgow is very diverse and inclusive, and so friendly that I felt at home quickly. The University was also very helpful in my transition. I was looking for scholarships and unfortunately missed the deadline to apply for one. However, there are many people who got scholarships earlier. I'm still very satisfied with the university, and it's given me a lot of good opportunities to build skills and meet people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Likes (Public transportation): The campus is in the heart of the city. There are subways nearby, a train station is 20 minutes away, and there are bus stops in multiple locations. There are student discounts available and, most importantly, there are student pass facilities. The transportation is very convenient and decently affordable.

Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fee is too much if there is no scholarship provided. The expenses on student accommodation, yearly living expenses, and extra-curricular activities all come to a lot of investment when it comes to the return of job opportunities. It would take a lot of years for us to recover in terms of money.

There is a major housing crisis in Glasgow.

Tips: Public transportation through buses is free when you are under 22 years old, and they provide you apply for the YoungScot card. While the university is great, there is also a major housing crisis in Glasgow and therefore, the cost of living will be high. Provided that your personal statement displays individuality and your grades are good, you should be able to avail a scholarship of 7000 pounds with ease. My only concern is the massively problematic cost of living crisis. But overall, I am content with my experiences.

Likes (Student Life): There's a wide range of student societies at UofG. Makes for excellent avenues for networking and socialising. Moreover, most spaces are safe and inclusive. The nightlife is quite great as well. The student campus is quite diverse and liberal. It's a very inclusive space.

Dislikes (Post study jobs): Most practicing psychologists require a master's at the least. However, job prospects beyond this are excellent. But my course has still bestowed me with excellent research skills, which are highly sought after by employers.

People Make Glasgow. The university is the heart of the city.

Tips: Being an international student I expected to take time and settle in Scotland. To my surprise, everything looked easier as soon as I landed there. People were friendly, college services made my living expenses and budgeting cut down and professors were approachable.

Likes (Public transportation): The university is the heart of the city. As the banners in Glasgow quote - "People make Glasgow", it means the same too. There are a lot of buses connecting students to the university. Students have heavy discounts throughout their valid student cards.

Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): As we all know, the visa rules changed in the UK over the span of 3 years due to political change in the economy which is why permanent settlement and acquiring a VISA has become a little difficult for students. I would definitely love to stay in the country.

Tips: I am quite satisfied with my university and my course. I did not receive any scholarships. I would have liked the course to be a bit longer because one year for a Master's feels a bit short. By the time you get used to your life in Glasgow, the year ends. I had received the university experience that I wanted to.

Likes (Student Life): I had 3-4 classes per week, each of 2 hours. There were multiple social events from my department and the university as a whole throughout the year. There were many different societies and clubs which organized events throughout the year and I attended most of them and they were great for socialising.

Dislikes (Part time work): There are on campus and off campus jobs available but it is also quite competitive to get and is not very easy to get hired. Part-time work *for me* was manageable as my contact was flexible. And I got paid minimum wage for part time which changed every April and was decent enough for me, personally to sustain (this might vary according to everyone's financial situation).

100% would recommend studying here!

Tips: With the number of international students here, it's a very easy transition just the weather is a little cold so be prepared for that. Other than that, feel right at home! Scholarships are available if you apply for them early on in the process. Overall, quite happy with my choice of course and University of Glasgow is a beautiful place to live, would definitely consider studying here.

Likes (Public transportation): Easy bus and subway access - bus around is 5 pounds return and subways 3 pounds per day. Bus passes and subway passes are available (free bus for students under 21). Bus pass would make the bus around 2 pounds a day and subways around 1.5 (depending on the duration of the pass you would take). Personally prefer the subways, but the connectivity of it is not very good.

Dislikes (Internships): Not too many opportunities, but have to be actively looking for them. Computer Science jobs are quite easy to get at the graduate level. Internships itself though are not as easy, but possible regardless. Placements as available in India are not a thing here so be vary of that.

Tips: I faced a cultural shift starting from the accent even if my IELTS score was quite well, it was so difficult for others to understand my accent and so was it for me but gradually I learned and adapted. The scottish culture is good. I like everything about it from people to their bagpipes I love it here! There is an international student scholarship given to students but it isn't much. Teachers are good and they teach in a research oriented way. Placements is okay-okay but when post study visa is there it does help to secure a job. The infrastructure is very good as I said I like being here this is one reason architecture is very old and sometimes this place or Edinburgh seems like you are straight out of Harry Potter book!

Moreover, given that the University of Glasgow is more academically oriented, they should be prepared to spend a lot of time reading and studying.

Likes (Internships): The university has a job board through which students can apply for part-time jobs and internships. Although they should also check LinkedIn regularly for any new openings. Often, professors and university staff post vacancies on LinkedIn as well as emails, so keep a tab on your emails as well.

Dislikes (Post study jobs): Although the UK has started providing a two-year post work visa, commonly known as PSW, students need to be proactive and network aggressively finding jobs related to their field of study. The university will not help with placements, though it has several career-related resources that can assist students in landing jobs.

The University provides a lot of support. Apply at least 6-8 months before to get a scholarship.

Tips: The exposure you get helps you a lot in becoming the best version of yourself. The University provides a lot of support in all aspects. Apply at least 6-8 months before to get a good scholarship. Connect to people on LinkedIn who have got scholarship. Start applying for Graduate roles as soon as you start your studies. The connectivity of ScotRail and the Subways is the best. There is a subway station right next to the University, approximately a 5-7 minute walk. Monthly passes are the cheapest and the best option. There are buses as well, especially passes like Young Scot for students under 22 years and young people, which gives them free bus travel across Scotland.

Dislikes (Post study jobs): Many companies are offering sponsored jobs around 10,000 plus. But it has become more difficult to get a sponsored job after 2024, due to changes in the rules and the new salary limit. If you are interested in these types of jobs, you will need to be very proactive with your job search. You should also take the time to prepare a solid resume, as it can make the job hunt much easier.

Tips: Getting along with the culture of this country was pretty easy if you were open to accepting changes. The university is a very friendly place where everybody is willing to help you at any time. I was offered a 5000-pound scholarship based on my undergrad scores. I love my university, this country and its people. I have never felt like not getting along with the local people here, I have made pretty good friends locally, other than people from my country. The Scouse accent was a bit hard to understand because it's very different from the rest of the accents in England. But I got used to it. Finding part part-time job at university was not easy, and I haven't gotten any opportunities. But the university itself is right in the middle of the city, so you will get other options around if you try.

Likes (Value for money): The university has very good faculty members, great learning outcomes, and you also get plenty of resources to help you study on campus. The classrooms are great, and the labs are well-equipped. The lecturers and tutors are very knowledgeable and helpful. When it comes to infrastructure, it offers a lot of space for students to feel comfortable. There are two libraries where I often spend time reading or studying. There is also a common place called a guild, where you have bars, a cafe and a gaming area, and it is also a place where I choose to spend my time working on assignments and projects. I have never regretted choosing this university or spending this money on it. It is ranked 147th in the world, is in the top 20 universities in the UK. It is also a Russel group university, which is why the fee can be justified.

Dislikes (Internships): Finding internships through the university might not be as easy as we imagine. I would recommend finding internships on your own via LinkedIn and other job platforms. To gain experience, unpaid internships are easier to obtain. It all depends on how consistent you are in applying for jobs and your skills.

Tips: The University of Liverpool is a world-class institution that is fun-loving, environmentally friendly, and supportive of its students. As an alumnus, I suggest that you, as a student, prepare for a challenging and fulfilling life at the university where you will be involved in academic activities, sports, student societies, and so much more. I was lucky enough to receive a 2500 GBP scholarship that was a Commonwealth scholarship given to students from Commonwealth countries. I was very satisfied with the university and the great course I took. If you’re an international student, be prepared for an adjustment period, but don’t worry, you’ll get used to things. I recommend that international students not let any doubts about the country deter them from attending.

Likes (Safety): Liverpool is a safe student city. It is safe if the student is within his limits of enjoyment; otherwise, every place has bad incidents going on. Be responsible wherever you go. I have never had a bad experience because I knew what I was doing and was always together with friends. It is safe if you are always in a group and not roaming around late at night alone to explore.

Dislikes (Internships): Internships are easy to get if you have a basic experience of 1- 2 years. There are many number of opportunities for internships in all fields. If applied on the right time and if it aligns with your background you will surely get it. Internships are available in my field, too. Just have to learn to apply sooner and connect with higher level employees on social media like LinkedIn.

The job market is in crisis, and it is difficult for international students because of visa.

Tips: The system is clear and easy. The assignments are given priority and are easy to do as well. Just have to give enough dedicated time and effort to clear the assignments. The exam system is handy as well, and easily scoreable question papers. I had a scholarship of 2500 pounds because India falls under the Commonwealth countries. I'm having a hard time finding an internship. As a Master's graduate, I've been finding it tough because companies provide internships to undergrad students instead of us. The job market is in crisis right now, and we international students are having an even harder time than usual because of Visa problems. Companies aren't ready to sponsor us, no matter what they say. Overall, I am very satisfied with the university campus and the beautiful atmosphere for students.

Likes (Public transportation): Public transport in Liverpool is so easy to use. The buses are cheap, charging only 2 pounds to take you anywhere within the city. Even the trains are cheap. Everything is so accessible, and you have all the facilities you need right at your fingertips. It all adds up to a fast and convenient life here in Liverpool.

Tips: The transition was pretty smooth. Initially, I needed some understanding of how things were working, and once I grasped that, I was able to learn new things and develop myself. I received a scholarship from the university, which is given along with the university application itself. The amount is 5000 pounds. I am very satisfied with the university, the course, and the country, where I gained a new perspective on things and began to learn independent while understanding different cultures.

Likes (Safety): I found the area to be quite safe and never faced any safety challenges. The other safety facilities include CCTV surveillance, well-lit streets, emergency helplines, and so on. Even the student accommodation needs access to cars multiple times to enter the premises. One positive experience was when I went to my friend's place late at around 3 am. The street were deserted, but I observed some police surveillance in the area during this time, which made me feel safe.

Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK offers a structured and transparent immigration system with a clear process for obtaining a visa and permanent immigration options by being in skilled workers visa category. My chances of getting permanent settlement are fairly good, as I am pursuing a Master's degree in a high-demand field, specifically Data Science and AI. There are several opportunities for roles related to this degree in the UK. Obtaining a proper job with the necessary skills and meeting the requirements of the skilled worker visa would help in securing the Permanent settlement option. Yes, I would consider it seriously. The quality of life and opportunities in the country are immense for the role I am interested in.

A mistake during covid time. Think twice before joining this university.

Tips: This course is not worth the money. You can look for other universities within the same fee range. The university does some scholarships, you don’t need to apply separately but make sure that SOP is perfect. I was fortunate to receive the ULMS Future Leaders Scholarship worth 24500.

Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation is very good. Frequent bus service from all parts of the city plus train service from nearby met cities. Quite affordable, bus tickets are 2 pounds for a single and a day pass is around 5 pounds, which is quite reasonable compared to other cities, but trains are expensive.

Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There is uncertainty regarding visa rules and the government. The UK job market is not stable at all and it is better to look for other countries at this point. The job market is saturated and clearly, it's a joke. I would personally recommend Australia, the US and Germany.

Getting a part time maybe a bit difficult for the first few months but if you get one its gonna be sorted actually. University is really big with around 30,000 students with lots of activities and sports facilities, you will not have the time to feel bored if you go for all the activities.

A good choice if you can bare the fees.

Tips: Being one of the Russel group universities, this university of Liverpool is really a good choice if you're considering UK. The reason I choose this university in the first place was that it is academically oriented, its a party place, it has many sports clubs if you want to experience an overall university feel, this could be the one or else there are other universities with less fees.

Friendly and helpful university.

Tips: University environment is really friendly and the staff guides you to help you in all the ways possible. I haven't faced any racism after coming here and in fact I became the president of badminton club. Coming to the studies, every student needs to do their own research and work at least 2 hours a day on their own to get good grades.

This is a really good University and we have many programmes to enhance our skills.

Tips: I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship from the University of Liverpool, which greatly alleviated the burden of my studies. The scholarship process involved submitting my academic records, a personal statement and letters of recommendations. My course is intellectually stimulating and offers a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications.

Likes (Public transportation): It's 32 for each trip, easily accessible buses. National Express runs to and from different cities anytime. The transport is easily available and the station is nearby. The trains are also available but the station close at 12 midnight hence traveling by bus is really easy.

Dislikes (Part time work): The part time options are limited. You usually have to go far in search of work also mostly you get work as a warehouse operative. You need to travel to different nearby cities and getting job in city centre is a bit difficult. You can join agencies and work at different places.

Gold standard teaching with all the resources you might need during your graduation.

Tips: Definitely a cultural shift. Learn cooking but adapt to local food as you won't get much time to cook. And if you get a part time job then just forget about cooking you will be eating outside almost every day. Life is pretty fast here as compared to India.

Likes (Quality of faculty): Better feedback loops and overall quality of teaching. Most of the modules are up to Date and are revised every year. Faculty members are well trained and all of them have PhDs. They will only teach you what needed. Also the way they teach here is quite different from India in a better way.

Dislikes (Indian Food): There is only 1 or 2 shops where you can find Indian food and spices. Although the western options at other places are good. Try to change your eating habits. Try to bring as much as you can as it took me about 2 months to get around with the food here. Definitely bring atleast 6 months stock of spices if you tend to cook.

Tips: University of Liverpool is one of the most prestigious universities in the world and it has a really good QS ranking. The lecturers have good experience in their fields but few of them are not competent. But Masters is about doing work on our own and getting greater knowledge that can be only done by good reading materials and support, so as long as you strive hard, you're in good hands.

It's a good choice if you wanna do data science

Life here is smooth yet a bit challenging at times.

Tips: Liverpool gives you a different type of experience with the people and academics. So don't have to worry about anything. The lives of international students are actually good. It's not too hard or too easy. Before coming here just make sure you can survive here without your family.

Likes (Quality of faculty): The staff are the best in this university. They give their best in academics and other things. They are very helpful and the way they teach us is very interesting. It gives us motivation to study and gain knowledge in the subjects. Some staff are strict which you need sometimes.

Dislikes (Safety): I've seen some roadside fights and people using guns. So it's not that safe here. At night there are my kids or people my age creating problems in the roadside making it difficult for the other people in the area. Thieves are there so we have to always keep an eye on our cycle or car or anything.
