Diverse and different university experience.
Tips: Moving to Melbourne was a big change but a great cultural experience. The city is diverse and welcoming, though at the university, most of my classmates were from Asian countries, with very few Australian classmates. which was a cultural shift for me. I received the FBE graduate scholarship of approx. $25,000 AUD fee remission by applying directly at the university.
Likes (Indian Food): You can usually find lots of restaurants with different cuisines. One time meal costs anywhere from $23 to $35, depending upon the restaurant, cuisine, etc.
I usually prefer a blend of both, cooking at home 5-6 days and eating outside 1-2 days a week.
Dislikes (Value for money): Studying at the University of Melbourne felt like an interesting cultural experience, but academically and financially, it did not meet my expectations. The tuition fees are extremely high, and I didn't feel the value provided was justified at all. Many subjects were just plain theory rather than practical, leaving me less prepared for employment than I had hoped.

Supportive college environment.
Tips: Do not come here expecting to land a part-time working gig as soon as you arrive. Things like that don't happen easily and take a lot of time. You eventually handle yourself after finding some initial difficulty adjusting to the cultural and ethnic changes in the city. Overall, Melbourne is one of the most accommodating places I've ever been to.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Students can have the time of their lives here. There's literally everything here that a student can ask for. With over two hundred clubs and societies, UniMelb forms one of the biggest student communities in the country, students are given the freedom to explore themselves.
Dislikes (Student Life): The faculty has complete knowledge about their subject, and even beyond that, they're the perfect mix of teacher and mentor. They also know how to maintain their boundaries from students and aren't very over-friendly or in your face with regards to your personal life.

The university is quite expensive.
Tips: Do not expect to land a part-time role as soon as you arrive. It can take a lot of time. The education culture of Australia is experience-based, so it'll involve a lot of group discussions and class participation. Hence, it is essential to do the required readings before class in order to make the most of your learning experience.
Likes (Indian Food): There is a variety of options for Indian as well as any other country's food, so you won't get that feeling of homesickness. Since I've come here, I've had the best of experiences trying out different cuisines like Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Argentinean, and whatnot.
Dislikes (Value for money): I feel like the course is expensively priced, and it costs more than double what it does to a domestic student. Although I'm sure the courses provide value for money, I still feel they're at a price that might not be comfortable for everyone to bear.

Finding part-time work can be challenging if you live in the city.
Tips: My transition was rather very personal and socially based. Things get very overwhelming when you leave the shadow of your parents and manage everything alone. Making friends was really difficult for me, and my studies consequently got affected. But over time, you realise that you won't get loyal friendships here. One of the funniest culture shocks was the Unisex Washrooms. Rest, people aren't conservative here, but I suggest you be safe from junkies, since they attack a lot. I couldn't get any scholarship from Unimelb despite getting 92.5% in 12th grade - CBSE. But from other students I know as of July 2023, you can get a grant of 10,000 AUD. Personally, UniMelb is too strict and stressful with studies. There aren't a lot of options if you're seeking courses like fashion studies. I'd suggest Monash for business-oriented subjects. The classes aren't interactive or individual-focused focused especially if you have an Asian tutor.
Likes (Public transportation): If you reside in the city, trams are super convenient, and student accommodation is well-located near the university. Myki cards with a concession cost $5 and are affordable, but many students don't use them often. There are also free tram zones that don't require a Myki card at all! If you need to travel from the suburbs, trains and buses are also super convenient, costing AUD 10 per trip.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is fairly difficult to secure on-campus jobs. Finding part-time work can be challenging if you live in the city. I've been searching for a job myself for the past year, although I did have a part-time job for three months during my first semester. Managing part-time work alongside academics is not difficult at all.

The University of Melbourne is quite academically oriented.
Tips: The University of Melbourne is quite academically oriented when compared to other universities in Melbourne. So, most probably you might hear your friends from another university saying that they don't have exams. But it's quite important to think that exams are a more preferable mode of analysis and can give value to our degree. It also makes sure that we won't steer away from our studies. I was automatically granted a scholarship of 10000 AUD off my fee, but as mentioned, it was assigned to me based on my track record back in India.
Likes (Safety): The campus is extremely safe for students. There are phone booths around the campus, and they provide easy access to security if you’re ever feeling unsafe. The staff of campus buildings are generally very supportive. And the campus security guards do a good job of making the university safe for everyone.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The job market right now is changing drastically, and many courses are being taken off from the PR options, but I believe the university provides enough resources for us to find jobs and utilise the most of it. Ultimately, I wish to get a job in Australia itself, as biotechnology has a great market.

The Universty of Melbourne provides a lot of facilities and amazing opportunities.
Tips: Melbourne is a fun city, and the people are wonderful. University life has been amazing so far. There are so many clubs that you can join and be a part of, and the academics are also so rigorous and hands-on. I was offered the "Business and Economics Graduate Scholarship". It was given based on my undergrad performance. I really enjoy the course that I am doing, the city is wonderful, and so is the university.
Likes (Part time work): On-campus jobs are really competitive but high-paying. For off-campus part-time jobs, you need to go and hand your resume in at the store for a higher chance of success. Managing part-time and university was a bit challenging in the beginning, but you get used to it as time goes by. The average payout for part-time work is $24/hr, and for casual roles, the pay is usually higher, around $30/hr.
Dislikes (Internships): There is a lot of guidance available for finding internships at university. They have university-source and self-source internships. But the university-source internships are really competitive and hard to get. There are so many internship options of internships available in my field of study.

Come if you’re financially secured as the city can be very expensive.
Tips: I got a 50% scholarship plus a $10000 grant. This was availed through automatic consideration. Aussies are very easy-going and respect people a lot. Be ready to feel alone and homesick in the initial days as well.
Likes (Part time work): I work as a chief in a restaurant part-time. It's off campus, easily manageable, and pays $800 to $900 weekly. On-campus part-time jobs are also available, but fewer in number. I landed the job by handing out physical resumes, and I get annual and sick leave.
Dislikes (Value for money): In my opinion, the Master of Management program is far too expensive for what it has to offer. The overall module structure is very easy. The course selection has limited options, and not everything in the curriculum matched my skill set. But I have to admit that the professors are nice and knowledgeable. The course focuses more on theory and case studies than actual practice.

Tips: The social life here is unique in that it’s like a circle of friends who are already familiar with each other. So it’s hard to make new friends. There are scholarships available, but they’re really competitive for international students. On the other hand the campus is very pretty and the university is great, so as long as you’re lucky you can make some great friends here. There are job opportunities available it can still be difficult to find work with the amount of competition. However, the university does have helpful services and websites to aid in the job search. All things considered it's still a pretty competitive market. I am satisfied with my experiences.

Tips: The campus life is amazing and the people are so loving, very warm and welcoming to students. The exams are a bit hard, but you can push through. There are so many parties, functions, and other activities. Plus, you get free food almost every day. There are few on-campus jobs. However, a good number of off-campus jobs are available if you look for them the right way. Part-time work is manageable if you are a good student. The average pay is minimum wage, which is 24 dollars per hour if you are 21 or older, and 19, 20, and 21 dollars if you are 18, 19, and 20, respectively. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Migration is not a fairytale.
Tips: There are multiple things people need to understand before going to a different country. It is not a fairytale. Students work like labourers here, especially at the University of Melbourne. The curriculum is hard, compared to other universities. If you want a job you will need references. I'm a government-sponsored student, I was awarded a 100% scholarship from the Maharashtra government. You can find more details on the sjsa.com website. To avail of this scholarship you should have a family income lower than 6 Lacs per annum, almost above 90% in graduation degree and should be SC caste. Overall University of Melbourne puts a lot of pressure on students, Infrastructure and teachers are good, but student support for career guidance could be improved. On a scale of 1-5, I will give 2.5 for university satisfaction. I will highly advise not to take any management course in any of the unis in Australia as it has no PR or job security. 1 for course satisfaction. Australia as a country is extremely good, clean, friendly people,
Likes (Safety): The University of Melbourne is extremely safe, and there is an extremely low crime rate in the city. This is not particular to this university; every reputed university in Australia is safe. There are security people roaming around the city, and there is no gun culture in the entire country.
Dislikes (Value for money): The courses are extremely expensive and provide very low ROI. Job opportunities are very limited, and it is extremely difficult to find a job or internship. Even people with 10 years of experience in management can't find jobs.

Tips: The university offers grants and scholarships. Students should check them out. Stores here close by 5 pm and most cafes by 3 pm, so if you are not an early riser, you need to change that. I am quite satisfied as the university teaches me and also makes me research to gain better insights.
Likes (Student Life): The university does provide a lot of events and activities on campus to keep the students engaged. There are networking sessions, games, and free food. There are so many clubs to join and engage in their activities. I participate once a week in an activity. The clubs are from cultural, academic as well as hobby backgrounds.
Dislikes (Part time work): The University has not provided us with much options for part-time. Students mostly seek part-time jobs outside. It is quite manageable if you keep your classes for 3 days and work 3 days. You can balance work and studies. The average payout for part-time work is Aud 450 per week.

A very homely and wholesome experience.
Tips: It's one of the most livable cities in the world, and it's very student-oriented, which makes it easy to make friends. The university itself has a QS ranking of 13, which makes it the best university in Melbourne, and definitely one of the best in the world. I recommend that you try to make friends in each class you have. If you're an introvert, there are lots of activities that don't require you to mingle with people so much. I'm very satisfied with my experience at the University of Melbourne.
Likes (Internships): Internships here are very popular. While it may be hard to find a paid internship, there are a lot of companies that offer unpaid internships. If you do a good job, you may be able to parlay that experience into a paid position after graduation. I suggest that you download LinkedIn and start networking with people in your field.
Dislikes (Part time work): For Bachelor students, it's a bit hard to get a paid job because Australia mostly considers Australian work experience. However, you can move your way up by joining university clubs and internships, even if they're unpaid. Basically, you just need to engage yourself in activities.

Tips: You are on your own to find a job. The course is difficult and you have to be constantly working during the semester. You should have good financial background and good academic skills. In order to secure a job, make sure you work hard throughout the course, and maintain a good WAM. If you want to go into the industry, try to get some professional experience beforehand. A lot of people are considering a Ph.D. after my course.
Likes (Safety): The country is safe as everyone knows. Generally no thefts or risks to women. Of course, it is not crime-free. The chances of your cycle getting stolen are high. Also, there are people on the street under the influence who can be a nuisance sometimes as they sometimes shoot but often they don't do any harm.
Dislikes (Internships): No internships are provided by the university. You have to find one yourself. However, it is generally hard to find an internship. It is not that tough to find part-time jobs but still requires some work. Good connections can be really helpful for finding a job.

My college is friendly, professors are just amazing and transportation is smooth,
Tips: I did experience a culture shift when I moved to Australia, but I was able to mitigate it by living off-campus with one of my professors. I was able to celebrate Indian festivals with them, which helped me feel more at home. I was not able to take advantage of any financial aid, so my parents took out a loan to pay for my education. I am satisfied with my experience because I was able to get a part-time job to help pay for my living expenses.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at Melbourne are astonishing, they are just excellent. There are also many Indian teachers teaching here who helped me a lot in finding part-time jobs. The teachers here are well educated, and their practical approach is evident in their teaching methods.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): We are facing difficulty since elections for permanent settlement as the newly elected government makes the process of immigration more difficult. No, I would like to come back to India after my studies as I wish to open my own clinic earlier and then an entire hospital for neuroscience.

There isn't a placement system here, so it gets really hectic finding a job or even a part-time job, so be prepared for that. The university is amazing, very beautiful, very resourceful. Make full use of your time.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is top-notch and really helpful. They are accessible through emails and also offline appointments. The teaching is mostly case studies, assignments, and interaction-based, which gives an overview of how you will be using the subject knowledge in the real world. The faculty is diverse, with many guest lecturers with expertise in teaching all over the world.
Dislikes (Safety): The attacks on Indians, especially students, are increasing day by day. The college is located right in the heart of the city and poses a risk of theft, attacks, casual racism, etc., due to its proximity to the city centre. It gets a little more unsafe after dark. Transportation is limited to a certain time.

Tips: Embrace the cultural shift. Develop a strong sense of civic responsibility. The environment is generally safe, but remain vigilant and cautious. While I didn't receive a scholarship, securing one is highly beneficial. The university, people, and course are all excellent, and the country is great too. However, approach the job market post-graduation with an open mind and a flexible attitude, as it can be very competitive, even for part-time positions.
Likes (Indian Food): The Indian restaurants are priced in the mid to high range. I enjoy cooking myself, which influenced my rating. The raw ingredients for most Indian dishes are readily available; you just need to look for them. There are multiple options for everything, and a decent variety of places to eat, allowing for creativity and exploration of other cuisines as well.
Dislikes (Internships): There were no internships provided or easily available. The college did not help arranging those even the dissertation companies were not interested in the interaction. Basically there's no hand holding or favours. You have to be reseilient, persevere and get what you want.

Great student life with many on-campus events.
Tips: There has definitely been a cultural shift. Students address teachers by their names, rather than "Sir" or "Ma'am." Students can leave class eat or drink soda without explanation. Basic civic courtesy, such as holding doors and making eye contact, is also common. Following these norms is crucial to avoid negative perceptions and the potential for increased racism.
Likes (Public transportation): There are tons of things to do. The Trinity Sports app allows participation in around 44 different sports. I enjoyed climbing the 36-foot climbing wall in the college. I also attended badminton social sessions, which occurred every two days. Apart from sports there are various social and cultural events such as "new to Dublin" events, festivals and talks. A global room hosts these events. Participating in these activities will allow you to learn a lot and have fun.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The recent unprovoked attacks on Indians are a growing concern. I haven't personally experienced any racial incidents it's been observed that local teens are essentially immune to the law. They often get away with wrongdoing without facing proper punishment. My main advice would be to stay in groups especially at odd hours.

The quality of education is very good; they provide excellent education.
Tips: I've transitioned to my full potential and I was a completely different person back then. Now I feel more confident interacting with people and working independently. There is definitely a cultural shift. The way education is handled in India is very different from here. People greet you differently and everything seems very nice and welcoming.
Likes (Value for money): The quality of education is good they provide excellent education. The course is well structured and always informative. Students receive new assignments every week during their coursework. The professors are very polite and humble. It is value for money.
Dislikes (Safety): Safety is good but it is important to be vigilant. The city is safe even at night but we need to take precautions. Do not carry valuables in crowded places and avoid prolonged conversations with strangers. Following the rules is essential for staying safe.

Student life is excellent at TCD.
Tips: In the beginning, you may find it difficult to adjust to the Irish culture and the rules here, but eventually you'll get used to it. There are plenty of opportunities to avail of scholarships from TCD. Overall, the university provides a rich academic experience with a focus on extracurricular activities as well.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is excellent at TCD. I spent most of my time in lecture rooms and the library studying and completing assignments. The university also offers a wide range of options for sports enthusiasts, including a nice park, canteens, and a bar. Events organised by TCD include career fairs, induction programs, and many other events.
Dislikes (Safety): The campus is secure from outside threats, and students feel completely safe inside. It's just that certain areas around the university tend to not be safe at times. The teenagers have no laws associated with them, and they take advantage of it and try to mess with immigrants. So it's better to stay away from them if you spot them.

Tips: Do look out for scholarships and get in touch with seniors to know about the scope of your course and opportunities after completion. Make connections beforehand. Do not shy away from participating in cultural and extracurricular activities in and around the college campus. The campus and library are beautiful, so spend time there. It's in the heart of the city, which makes going to class every day something to look forward to.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is excellent. Visiting faculty members are from all over the world with an enormous loads of knowledge and experience. Even Ph.D. students are very helpful. Scheduling a meeting is simple and systematic. Opportunities for Ph.D. S are also offered through faculty referrals.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian restaurants are plenty, but they are pretty expensive. These restaurants have adapted to the European taste and offer a comparatively local experience. Options are plenty, but it's better to try new cuisines. South Indian places are generally better.

The university is just average.
Tips: Ireland has a tough market to crack, with numerous challenges, including finding a part-time job, managing studies, and applying for full-time corporate jobs. The place is overall good, people here are very friendly, they are always helpful, and there is no discrimination here are such.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation in Dublin is excellent. It is very cheap, the whole city is very well connected, and most routes run almost 24 hours a day. The city has three modes of public transport: LUAS (light rail), trains, and buses.
Dislikes (Internships): Not much of internship opportunities are there as a master's student. You won't be hired as an intern in Ireland. They are generally given to Bachelor's students in the penultimate year of their studies. The market is a little tough to crack at this moment.

Trinity College Dublin is great if you have your backup plan ready.
Tips: Students should know that you must have certification and prior experience ready to go through the fast-paced courses in order to succeed. Ideally, your main reason to come to Ireland would be to find a job as quickly as possible. And if you cannot find full-time work, then you should at least be prepared to work part-time to cover at least the cost of living. Keep in mind that even though the people are nice and the campus itself is welcoming, you should take your whole education very seriously.
Likes (Student Life): Trinity College Dublin is the best college in Ireland, so naturally, it also offers the best campus life in the country. Its campus is located in the city center. The campus itself is very large and very green.
Dislikes (Value for money): I am yet to find a job in finance, so I rate this place low in terms of value for money. It's not my personal experience, either. Many immigrant students from my cohort are in the same boat. Some of my friends haven't been able to find jobs, so they've gone back to India or are on their way there. Jobs are scarce, and the Trinity College Dublin tag doesn't help much.

Think twice or even thrice before joining for your good.
Tips: Students should know that there are barely any scholarships when compared to other colleges and quite a few cultural shifts. Get ready for a lot of public speaking and assignments which is a dead scene in India. College does not care about your post-graduation work. Minimum career guidance, everything is self-made and self-done here.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The market is very bad at the moment, with hardly any opportunities. Would not recommend anyone to come here at least at the moment. Sponsorship is another problem that you'll face but one good thing is that you won't need sponsorship for the first 2 years of graduation. Salaries are comparatively low in the US where a just graduation gets on average 100K Dollars but here it is around 27-32K Euros.

Fun, challenging and great learning experience.
Tips: The job market is in a pretty bad shape as of now so decide carefully if you are willing to go through that much amount of pressure and struggle. In addition, finding a part time is quite challenging as well, and have a clear picture in your mind about whether you want to settle abroad or not before going.
Likes (Safety): The country is relatively safe and peaceful. There's public transport that works all time round. And I have been home pretty late at night and it was all safe. Regardless, there are teenagers who caused trouble for a few people I knew but again it all depends on your locality.
Dislikes (Part time work): It was not easy to find a part time job in Dublin. I didn't find one as of now and I am getting rejections for those as well despite having a good CV. I will still apply though until I find one and I will advise you of the same. Go there only if you want to settle down or spend a few years, if you're confused then maybe think about other opportunities.

Excellent College, but the city is expensive.
Tips: Foreign Education differs massively from our Indian Education System. They are very liberal and open-minded towards their curriculum and have exponentially more global exposure. I wasn’t able to obtain any scholarship to study at Trinity but many students in my cohort got scholarships. I’m extremely satisfied with the University and the course, leading to both PhD and Job Opportunities, though Dublin is one of the costliest places to live in but not in the Schengen region.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty are extremely nice and open in my department. I’ve never felt out of place asking doubts or getting help from both students and professors in my class. The lectures were organised Mon-Wed to help us have a longer weekend and study better.
Dislikes (Internships): We are encouraged to apply for Internships and support is provided by the college in creating contacts with industry partners via TQA. But being a student from India has made getting Visa to work in other countries very difficult. Most of the students choose to do a PhD after this course though.

Tips: A big cultural shift is a lifestyle where we have to do everything at home, including groceries, cleaning, and cooking apart from college and assignments. There are scholarship options provided by different colleges and the government of Ireland in general, have a look at those while applying.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Great faculty at Trinity college dublin, highly qualified and approachable for any issues. Teaching methodology is great but different from how it’s done in India. Teaching here is a lot more research-oriented, need to read a lot of research papers and discuss them in class. Apart from research, there are a lot of individual and group projects on real-life research subjects.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are fairly less opportunities on campus for part time jobs, compared to the number of students/people looking for these jobs. Having said that, it is not impossible to get one, just have to be on the lookout for one when it’s available.
- since it’s a one year course, so it’s difficult to manage time for part time along with the course. But could be done once the students are comfortable with the course and lifestyle.

Tips: There is no scholarship for this course. There are no exams which is a good thing. Programming knowledge is mandatory. The faculty are current industry leaders who teach with their working experience and not with theoretical experience because of which you learn by applying what has to be thought.
Likes (Indian Food): You get everything Indian in every area of Dublin, even near the college. There is an Indian Society. The majority of the students are Indians in most of the courses. All the Indian festivals are celebrated. The Indian community here is really strong. Mini India store is near the campus.
Dislikes (Part time work): The average pay is good (12.7/hour). But finding a part time on campus or anywhere near the campus or the city centre is impossible. The process of finding a part-time job is extremely exhausting. If you do find a part-time, managing expenses and studies shouldn't be an issue.

Trinity College Dublin: The post pandemic era for Indians has opportunities given you have skills.
Tips: Keep in mind the cost of living. And personally, for the first time being outside of India there was definitely the culture shock but in a good way. Only suggestion would be to research universities based on the course that you want to take as they hold a very key role in how the course modules are set. With that being said you are going to be involved with cultures from all around the world which is a great opportunity to learn a lot about the outside world. And against popular belief in order to get a job around here is not a cakewalk, it's going to be demanding and make sure you hone the skillset and always portray yourself as the most valuable asset. Until you get into the company it's always going to be what value you are to the company and not the other way around. All serious talk side, a very good country and there's nothing a coffee can't solve. A note, the salary you might be getting right after graduation can be very much below your expectations but most companies do a regular revision of plays and you can climb up the ladder sooner than you think. But also the taxes are a bit on the higher side depending on what your salary is. I'd just recommend planning your expenses accordingly as you touch base.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): I wouldn't immigrate to this city as my main motive was to gain knowledge from what the university had to offer and explore. But comparatively, a permanent residence in Ireland is not that difficult if you are willing to put in the effort required. There are different permits which you will get to know as you get through the visa process. The first step is just getting a Stamp 1 which happens when you land a job and the company is willing to sponsor you. If your role comes under the critical skills list this is going to be the least of your worries. And from there on it's just adding more days to your residence and applying for a Stamp 4 which is equivalent to a permanent residentship and following that will be your Irish passport.
Dislikes (Safety): As it goes without saying it's going to be an entirely new city and it all boils down to being self-aware. Apart from campus security, there are going to be caretakers in case you live in a student accommodation that isn't provided by the university itself. Otherwise, you are always going to have the local cops. The city in itself is beautiful to explore and the neighbouring countries are also not that far off for a weekend trip. There are a lot of hikes around, a lot of local pubs, and a lot of activities surrounding the city. As long as you are aware of your surroundings you are going to be safe and sound. It would be a big plus if you had more people along with you.

How Trinity nurtures student life: Crafting futures beyond graduation
Tips: Since the weather here is cold and gloomy, so initially, one may take time to get accustomed to the weather and atmosphere here, because the culture and living standards here are completely different from India. Initially, one may feel that it is difficult to adjust here, but eventually, you will start getting habitual to this place, and you will like living here. Since I got into this college through the student exchange programme, so I did get an education scholarship with tuition fees of about 25%, based on my grades at the university in India. I am satisfied with the teaching pattern of this college because there is more emphasis on practical learning, so one must brush up their concepts before coming here, so as to catch up with the pace of learning here. I have also got accustomed to the weather here and the cuisine here, but I am only dissatisfied with the job market because there is a struggle after studies to find a job.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transport available here is very affordable and feasible for the students. Since the campus is in the heart of the city, so there are a number of available modes for public transportation, mainly the buses and the luas to each part of the city. For students, public transportation is extremely cheap, and if one travels several times a day, so there is a system of capping, where you are not charged after a certain amount has been spent in travelling on a day.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): For fresh graduates, the job market is challenging here and most of the companies are quite unwilling to sponsor visas as compared to the situation of experienced professionals. There are various graduate roles available in the IT sector, but again job market is competitive for graduates, although the salary offered is good.
