University of Queensland is great for people aiming to pursue research in there career.
Tips: The biggest cultural shift was the fact that people are more laid back and chill. I got an international high achievers scholarship for students with good academic records. It reduced my fees by about 10%. I'm very satisfied with the course since it's world-recognised and the university is ranked 1 in Australia in its field. Also, the research sector here is great.
Likes (Safety): Public transport is good and feels safe. People are nice, and I have never felt unsafe even when walking home late at night. I also work overnight shifts, so I often travel by car late at night, but I always feel safe. I don't have many bad experiences to recount.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are very few opportunities for new graduates in my field. Plus, there aren’t many companies in this city that even hire people with my background. It looks like the options I have are to be a research assistant, a quality assurance manager, or a research scientist. If I get hired, I could be making as little as 45,000 Australian dollars a year, or, if I’m lucky and experienced, as much as 91,000 Australian dollars a year.

The university of Queensland is very student-friendly and has lots of clubs and events.
Tips: The University of Queensland is mainly research-based, but it also teaches you to be industry-ready. There is a high achievers' scholarship available for Indian students, and a professional experience course that is basically an internship placement course that can really help you step into the industry. You should check to see if your course has it for better post-study placement options.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation is nearly free, which is the cheapest in Australia, but bus frequency and range are an issue. You might have to change multiple buses if you live in a cheaper location away from the city. I recommend staying near the campus, so you don’t miss out on campus activities.
Dislikes (Student Life): The campus is open 24 hours for students. We also have good libraries and tons of research materials. Also, the university is very beautiful. They have student activities, wellness sections, and free food. Multicultural events are organised, and there are over 200 clubs for students who enjoy different sports and ethnicities.

There are lots of events too, and they even celebrate Indian festivals.
Tips: I have had a great transition. I have become so self-independent. I try to do all my work by myself. I didn't experience a cultural shift as I found people like me. Their company never makes me feel like I am far away. I did not get any scholarship.
Likes (Student Life): I love spending time at the college; the campus is beautiful and the library is the best. There are lots of events too, and they even celebrate Indian festivals. I performed an Indian ghoomer, and I also volunteer. There are over 100 clubs there.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The restaurants around provide more Thai and Mexican food, with less Indian food to be found. Food costs at least $10. I prefer to cook my own food, as I love cooking, and I can get Indian groceries easily. It saves me money and gives me the taste of India, so I don't have to adjust to new cuisine.

An academically focused university with a fun campus life.
Tips: There are multiple scholarships that can best suit you if you are looking for one. Keep an eye out for the right one for you. The bit that was challenging was food. You get Indian options here, though not every place is as nice as home. You need to keep pace with it and make your own stuff. The university campus life is great. We have many activities and events on campus. We also have student bodies that look after those events.
Likes (Safety): UQ has a dedicated service for campus security that runs safety buses around the campus. They also offer a chauffeur in case you need someone to walk you to a place where the safety bus does not go. On-campus accommodation is fully secure, and so is the library.
Dislikes (Internships): The help available is limited to how the application goes, but it doesn't assist in securing one. My field of study is currently experiencing a setback, and is mostly selective hiring from the current employee network only. The number of graduates far exceeds the number of jobs.

UQ - a well rounded university with great faculty.
Tips: When you're transitioning from India's universities to Australia's, it takes time. Once you're settled in, though, it gets easy. You just get used to the things around you. Be smart. Be organised, have a rounded personality, and everything will be fine. For international students, you can use the IAS scholarships. The student fees are very expensive, but the quality of the education is great. The professors and the teaching staff are well-experienced, so they're really helpful. The assignments, while practically oriented, can be boring. The country and the universities have made me happy. Getting a part-time job will be tough initially, but networking is the key. It also helps to get to know more people. I took advantage of being in another country, and now I've mingled with people from all over the world who are in all kinds of courses. Don't stick to your friends from home or anyone who's Indian.

Tips: When you come to this university, be willing to do everything yourself. You'll be better off if you come here with no expectations, but you should know that if you put your mind to it, there's a lot you can accomplish. Also, prepare to move around if you are an international student. There are many student jobs, but don't expect to live luxuriously. Student accommodation is expensive, so you might consider moving to an inexpensive locale for six months before moving into the university.

Tips: You should be ready to embrace new cultures and eager to learn and meet new people. Networking is key, and you must put yourself out there and try to meet as many people as possible. The teachers will teach you via PPT, but it is up to the students to learn more by themselves.
Likes (Internships): There are many opportunities within the campus as well, but one needs to actively seek them. You will have to network and meet people via networking events organised by the university to be able to secure an internship that aligns with your professional goals.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Public transport is good. Buses are 50 cents only, and if you live near the university, you could probably walk or cycle. Living far without a car could be challenging, as it could mean more travel time and might add more to your academic workload.

Worth every penny you spend.
Tips: The university provides 10,000 dollar scholarships for high achievers, while you are selected by the university. There is not much cultural shift, it is homely and friendly. They have a lot of communities and societies where you can hang out with your community or multi-dimensional students. Just try to engage and interact more with your peers and faculty.
Likes (Safety): The university campus has high security rules and ensures the well-being of the students. The city, anyway, has a few limitations on how you behave; if you are sweet and lovely enough, the city treats you well.
Dislikes (Internships): The university does not provide students with an internship. It is completely up to the student to do networking and get the internship. I don't know much about other fields, but data Science doesn't provide any internships, they do offer a part-time job if you score a 7/7 GPA as a academic tutor.

Great transportation facilities and friendly people.
Tips: Please go through the course structure on the website and check whether what you want to learn is actually there. You will be able to find friends, do not worry about that, and the people here are nice, you will have fun. Sometimes it may feel lonely, but that's a challenge you have to get over. You can check for scholarships online or ask your counsellor as well. In general, I really like it here and hope to get a good job soon.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transport system is very accessible in the city and is well-connected, efficient, and there is a variety of options to choose from as a mode of transport, including buses, trains, or ferries. In Brisbane, currently it is very cheap to travel because of the 50 cent rule, and now you can travel any distance in Brisbane for a very low price. Enjoy travelling without spending a lot each month.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is quite good and approachable. It is just that the way to contact them can be a hassle at times. For example, in India, you could just go and ask the professor your doubts or queries. Here, you have to inform via email, take permission and in general seems like a hassle. You also have to be careful with which TA is teaching you, as good ones will take you far with their guidance, but a not-so-good one can be a headache without clarity.

Tips: Transition was quite smooth, and UQ was quite helpful in ensuring everything was briefed to us. I did not get any scholarship. A scholarship of 5000 AUD was automatically applied for all Indian students.
Likes (Safety): Everything is quite safe here, even at night. UQ ensures additional safety for students at night who stay on campus late. Public transport is functional late at night, around 12-1 AM, depending on what day of the week it is. People are generally friendly.
Dislikes (Internships): It can be difficult to find internships for students who don't have previous work experience. I think if you're actively trying to look, you should be able to find something, but it might take some time, as it could be challenging for foreign students in Australia to land a job.

Tips: Students should know that the education system is entirely different. You need to work on the assignment by doing research, and don't copy from others. Be open to the change. Life is all about going with the flow and having fun, meeting local people and adapting to the culture.
Likes (Student Life): Most of the universities have different clubs, activities that allow the students to meet new people and create contacts. UQ offers free breakfast and dinner, which allows students to save money. There are clubs for different countries so that you can meet people from your country to cope with homesickness.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): While opportunities exist but competition is high, and most roles require local experience. Limited companies sponsor visas. Tech jobs are in high demand. Students can opt for courses related to tech or sustainable energy fields.

Scientia ac Labore - The university truly lives by this motto.
Tips: I lived most of my life overseas, so it was a bit easier for me to fit into the crowd. The cultural shift was immense. There are so many new phrases and so many new habits that I had to get accustomed to, and it is better to learn this and fit in. But you have to remain original, as Aussies love it. Quite a complex balance. But you'll figure it out as you go, trust me. I did obtain a scholarship, as my university is partnered with my alma mater, and I had to request this separately and specifically after doing my independent research, so do your own independent research and be certain that there will be various scholarships that the university is happy to offer to the right candidate fitting all the criteria. The university has transformed my life in every aspect; it has broadened my perspective and provided me with a new perspective of life, of industry, and of academia, and it has been truly transformational. The course has been one of the best because this is what I wanted to do, and it had the exact balance of courses that will help me excel in my career. Since I have found my purpose, I can be confident when I see that the courses I learned have helped me in the right direction. There is more learning left. That is one of the main learnings that the university has provided me. I can't speak for Australia as a whole, but as for Brisbane, it's a beautiful, beautiful blossoming city nestled right in the centre of Eastern Australia, which makes it perfect: a tropical climate, not too cold, not too hot, beautiful people, easygoing, and there's not a lot of hassle and busters that you see in some of the major, well-known cities like Melbourne or Sydney.
Likes (Safety): The St. Lucia campus takes security very seriously. Imagine an emergency app or security dedicated to the office emergency point of call. Emergency vans are ready to evacuate you. Establish evacuation procedures that are brief for students well in advance, if they are working or if they are studying. Cameras throughout the campus are monitored by security officers 24/7, 365 days a year. That is some strong dedication. I have worked at the university as a staff member, and I know the amount of work and training that the university puts into ensuring that the students feel safe in the university. On the other hand, I have also felt some incidences of students not behaving right outside the campus, and that is beyond the control of the university; however, this is very rare and is very unfortunate when it happens, but Brisbane overall is a safe city within the city premises. Doesn't necessarily apply to the outskirts, where there isn't a lot of safety.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Asphalt companies offering sponsor visa work don't have too much of high hopes, but do come prepared and ready to take on a challenge, and you will certainly be rewarded with not only a job but also a transformational confidence and self-esteem in yourself. Furthermore, companies prefer hiring local citizens as it is easier for them to process the visa, and quicker hires can be done rather than extending the process, which hurts the company and the processes, and practically speaking, they put more money out of their pocket, which any company in this capitalistic and practical environment wouldn't want to do. With that said, I heard a lot of success stories through recruiters from Indian international students, and they eventually got their permanent residency as well. So don't lose hope, and there are more chances if you break into the market early on. So once you're here, keep chasing your internships and get higher quickly in the field of your work and build on your resume, and trust me, you are all set to succeed. A salary package of 75,000 certified Australian dollars is common. A grey job can even land you a six-figure salary as an entry-level package.

Not the best place to study and gain knowledge but a good place to gain experience.
Tips: I have availed the UQ High Achievers’ award, where I have a 20% academic scholarship. However, there has been a massive cultural shift and a rather immense personality shift. The way we look at life changes rapidly, and yeah, I'm not hating this experience, it’s alright.
Likes (Public transportation): Transportation is good if you use public transport, since Brisbane has great rates, it's 50-cents flat charge for any travel within Brisbane. However, on-campus parking is expensive. Travel within the city is okay, and the campus has good last-mile connectivity.
Dislikes (Value for money): The courses are underwhelming at this college. They don't have the best structure, the materials aren't updated regularly, and the lectures aren't very good. The professors can be difficult to work with. They will answer the required questions, but they can also be mean about it. The workshops and tutorials don't work very well.

Strong curriculum and diverse faculty.
Tips: There are very few scholarships available for Indian students at UQ, but you will receive an email during the application process, so there is no separate application needed. I faced hardships with the transition from the Indian education system to the Australian education system. It's so much different. I suggest that you attend all the induction sessions at the beginning. They share a lot of information about how to plan and study, which is very helpful and important. Overall, I am satisfied with my studies at UQ.
Likes (Value for money): At UQ, you get what you pay for; the high tuition makes sense with the quality of teaching staff and education you receive on campus. The facilities on campus also make the school worthwhile. However, if you only want a degree, it's not a good choice because the teachers are very focused on interaction and student performance, which may not be good for everyone.
Dislikes (Part time work): Getting a part-time job is pretty convenient if you work off campus, but it may take some time. You'll have to apply for a lot of different jobs to get hired, and you may experience rejections. It's hard to find on-campus jobs because they want employees with experience. If you work off campus, your salary will be around 32 dollars an hour.

Tips: The University has a lot of options from free supplies to volunteering opportunities. It's upto you how much you can benefit from. Obviously it's going to be rough initially but with the right people and support, it become easy. The key is to socialize and trying to accept the new reality. The faculty is amazing and supportive. Everyone is really helpful. One thing different from India is that things here are really systemic, so one might not feel more connected with the faculty. Meeting the faculty member requires taking an appointment in advance here. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Internships): The university provides proper guidance for internships, but it's a bit competitive. You need to perform well in one or the other criteria to get an internship. The issue is not getting paid internships because of a visa limitation on working hours, so finding the right internship becomes a bit difficult.

Tips: I wish I knew how independent learning is key here. At UQ, my day includes lectures, study sessions, and time with friends on campus. There's great career support, industry connections and events, so networking helps a lot. Getting involved early makes UQ even better. There is a dedicated team that assists with resume building, job and internship applications. They also provide support by responding to companies when we use their email as a reference. There are internships available in my field. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my course, university and the country.

Tips: For new students, UQ offers lots of interesting events to feel involved in; my advice will be to attend those and make connections. Of course, there will be cultural shifts in society which you can observe after coming here and adapting to those will be beneficial. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my University life, and my sustainable energy course also enjoying by going to lots of travel places in Queensland.
Likes (Safety): UQ has its own safe zone app for the security of the UQ community. Brisbane is quite welcoming for new students and filled with lovely people but not to say, everyone should be aware of their own safety as in rare cases there can be some incidents, especially at night.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Australian Immigration policy changes every time and it's a little hard to get a permanent settlement as long as you are not on the priority list. Given a chance, I would like to spend some time in Australia not necessarily looking for the parmanent immigration.

Diverse and different university experience.
Tips: Moving to Melbourne was a big change but a great cultural experience. The city is diverse and welcoming, though at the university, most of my classmates were from Asian countries, with very few Australian classmates. which was a cultural shift for me. I received the FBE graduate scholarship of approx. $25,000 AUD fee remission by applying directly at the university.
Likes (Indian Food): You can usually find lots of restaurants with different cuisines. One time meal costs anywhere from $23 to $35, depending upon the restaurant, cuisine, etc.
I usually prefer a blend of both, cooking at home 5-6 days and eating outside 1-2 days a week.
Dislikes (Value for money): Studying at the University of Melbourne felt like an interesting cultural experience, but academically and financially, it did not meet my expectations. The tuition fees are extremely high, and I didn't feel the value provided was justified at all. Many subjects were just plain theory rather than practical, leaving me less prepared for employment than I had hoped.

Supportive college environment.
Tips: Do not come here expecting to land a part-time working gig as soon as you arrive. Things like that don't happen easily and take a lot of time. You eventually handle yourself after finding some initial difficulty adjusting to the cultural and ethnic changes in the city. Overall, Melbourne is one of the most accommodating places I've ever been to.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Students can have the time of their lives here. There's literally everything here that a student can ask for. With over two hundred clubs and societies, UniMelb forms one of the biggest student communities in the country, students are given the freedom to explore themselves.
Dislikes (Student Life): The faculty has complete knowledge about their subject, and even beyond that, they're the perfect mix of teacher and mentor. They also know how to maintain their boundaries from students and aren't very over-friendly or in your face with regards to your personal life.

Tips: Do not expect to land a part-time role as soon as you arrive. It can take a lot of time. The education culture of Australia is experience-based, so it'll involve a lot of group discussions and class participation. Hence, it is essential to do the required readings before class in order to make the most of your learning experience.
Likes (Indian Food): There is a variety of options for Indian as well as any other country's food, so you won't get that feeling of homesickness. Since I've come here, I've had the best of experiences trying out different cuisines like Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Argentinean, and whatnot.
Dislikes (Value for money): I feel like the course is expensively priced, and it costs more than double what it does to a domestic student. Although I'm sure the courses provide value for money, I still feel they're at a price that might not be comfortable for everyone to bear.

Life at UniMelb as an international student.
Tips: I received a scholarship. Initially, I felt a bit overwhelmed, and it took time to adjust to the new culture. However, things improved once I became more familiar with the place. The university is truly welcoming of multiculturalism.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation in Melbourne is said to be one of the most well-structured in the world. There are three options: trams, trains, or buses. It's easy to travel to any suburb, and intercity trains are affordable and easy to use.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The chances of permanent immigration are very low in this country. The skills in demand are limited, and fields like PR and commerce, as well as related areas, don't contribute to them. Additionally, it's difficult to find an employer who can sponsor you to stay.

Finding part-time work can be challenging if you live in the city.
Tips: My transition was rather very personal and socially based. Things get very overwhelming when you leave the shadow of your parents and manage everything alone. Making friends was really difficult for me, and my studies consequently got affected. But over time, you realise that you won't get loyal friendships here. One of the funniest culture shocks was the Unisex Washrooms. Rest, people aren't conservative here, but I suggest you be safe from junkies, since they attack a lot. I couldn't get any scholarship from Unimelb despite getting 92.5% in 12th grade - CBSE. But from other students I know as of July 2023, you can get a grant of 10,000 AUD. Personally, UniMelb is too strict and stressful with studies. There aren't a lot of options if you're seeking courses like fashion studies. I'd suggest Monash for business-oriented subjects. The classes aren't interactive or individual-focused focused especially if you have an Asian tutor.
Likes (Public transportation): If you reside in the city, trams are super convenient, and student accommodation is well-located near the university. Myki cards with a concession cost $5 and are affordable, but many students don't use them often. There are also free tram zones that don't require a Myki card at all! If you need to travel from the suburbs, trains and buses are also super convenient, costing AUD 10 per trip.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is fairly difficult to secure on-campus jobs. Finding part-time work can be challenging if you live in the city. I've been searching for a job myself for the past year, although I did have a part-time job for three months during my first semester. Managing part-time work alongside academics is not difficult at all.

Also, living in Melbourne can be expensive, especially near the CBD or the main city, so budgeting and early accommodation planning are crucial. I received a 25% scholarship based on my Bachelor's merit. The university also offers several other scholarships based on several eligibility criteria. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the University of Melbourne and Australia.

Tips: The University of Melbourne is quite academically oriented when compared to other universities in Melbourne. So, most probably you might hear your friends from another university saying that they don't have exams. But it's quite important to think that exams are a more preferable mode of analysis and can give value to our degree. It also makes sure that we won't steer away from our studies. I was automatically granted a scholarship of 10000 AUD off my fee, but as mentioned, it was assigned to me based on my track record back in India.
Likes (Safety): The campus is extremely safe for students. There are phone booths around the campus, and they provide easy access to security if you’re ever feeling unsafe. The staff of campus buildings are generally very supportive. And the campus security guards do a good job of making the university safe for everyone.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The job market right now is changing drastically, and many courses are being taken off from the PR options, but I believe the university provides enough resources for us to find jobs and utilise the most of it. Ultimately, I wish to get a job in Australia itself, as biotechnology has a great market.

The Universty of Melbourne provides a lot of facilities and amazing opportunities.
Tips: Melbourne is a fun city, and the people are wonderful. University life has been amazing so far. There are so many clubs that you can join and be a part of, and the academics are also so rigorous and hands-on. I was offered the "Business and Economics Graduate Scholarship". It was given based on my undergrad performance. I really enjoy the course that I am doing, the city is wonderful, and so is the university.
Likes (Part time work): On-campus jobs are really competitive but high-paying. For off-campus part-time jobs, you need to go and hand your resume in at the store for a higher chance of success. Managing part-time and university was a bit challenging in the beginning, but you get used to it as time goes by. The average payout for part-time work is $24/hr, and for casual roles, the pay is usually higher, around $30/hr.
Dislikes (Internships): There is a lot of guidance available for finding internships at university. They have university-source and self-source internships. But the university-source internships are really competitive and hard to get. There are so many internship options of internships available in my field of study.

Come if you’re financially secured as the city can be very expensive.
Tips: I got a 50% scholarship plus a $10000 grant. This was availed through automatic consideration. Aussies are very easy-going and respect people a lot. Be ready to feel alone and homesick in the initial days as well.
Likes (Part time work): I work as a chief in a restaurant part-time. It's off campus, easily manageable, and pays $800 to $900 weekly. On-campus part-time jobs are also available, but fewer in number. I landed the job by handing out physical resumes, and I get annual and sick leave.
Dislikes (Value for money): In my opinion, the Master of Management program is far too expensive for what it has to offer. The overall module structure is very easy. The course selection has limited options, and not everything in the curriculum matched my skill set. But I have to admit that the professors are nice and knowledgeable. The course focuses more on theory and case studies than actual practice.

Vibrant and fun campus life.
Tips: The social life here is unique in that it’s like a circle of friends who are already familiar with each other. So it’s hard to make new friends. There are scholarships available, but they’re really competitive for international students. On the other hand, the campus is very pretty and the university is great, so as long as you’re lucky, you can make some great friends here. While there are job opportunities available, it can still be difficult to find work with the amount of competition. However, the university does have helpful services and websites to aid in the job search. All things considered, it's still a pretty competitive market. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Student Life): The University of Melbourne provides a vibrant, diverse, and engaging campus environment. With around 200+ clubs, events, networking sessions, cultural events, and many more, students can easily find their communities.

Tips: I really enjoy the culture at the University of Melbourne, even though it's very different from home. I didn't get any scholarships, but the exposure to new things and the opportunities that have opened up for me are priceless. The University of Melbourne is located in the central business district, which is a safe area that is always well-lit and has people around. The university also provides safety measures, such as security guards who will walk you from class to class or to your on-campus accommodation. These measures help to ensure that you feel safe and secure while you are on campus. The classes are very large, with up to 500 students, so it's hard to get individual attention from the professors. Also, the professors are from many different countries, and some of them are not very fluent in English, which makes it hard to understand them. In addition, I find that my particular course is too math-oriented and doesn't require enough critical thinking, which is not a good fit for my personal aptitude. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

The university provides a lot of on campus events and seminars to connect and maintain connections.
Tips: The campus life is amazing and the people are so loving, very warm and welcoming to students. The exams are a bit hard, but you can push through. There are so many parties, functions, and other activities. Plus, you get free food almost every day. There are few on-campus jobs. However, a good number of off-campus jobs are available if you look for them the right way. Part-time work is manageable if you are a good student. The average pay is minimum wage, which is 24 dollars per hour if you are 21 or older, and 19, 20, and 21 dollars if you are 18, 19, and 20, respectively. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Migration is not a fairytale.
Tips: There are multiple things people need to understand before going to a different country. It is not a fairytale. Students work like labourers here, especially at the University of Melbourne. The curriculum is hard, compared to other universities. If you want a job you will need references. I'm a government-sponsored student, I was awarded a 100% scholarship from the Maharashtra government. You can find more details on the sjsa.com website. To avail of this scholarship you should have a family income lower than 6 Lacs per annum, almost above 90% in graduation degree and should be SC caste. Overall University of Melbourne puts a lot of pressure on students, Infrastructure and teachers are good, but student support for career guidance could be improved. On a scale of 1-5, I will give 2.5 for university satisfaction. I will highly advise not to take any management course in any of the unis in Australia as it has no PR or job security. 1 for course satisfaction. Australia as a country is extremely good, clean, friendly people,
Likes (Safety): The University of Melbourne is extremely safe, and there is an extremely low crime rate in the city. This is not particular to this university; every reputed university in Australia is safe. There are security people roaming around the city, and there is no gun culture in the entire country.
Dislikes (Value for money): The courses are extremely expensive and provide very low ROI. Job opportunities are very limited, and it is extremely difficult to find a job or internship. Even people with 10 years of experience in management can't find jobs.

Tips: The university offers grants and scholarships. Students should check them out. Stores here close by 5 pm and most cafes by 3 pm, so if you are not an early riser, you need to change that. I am quite satisfied as the university teaches me and also makes me research to gain better insights.
Likes (Student Life): The university does provide a lot of events and activities on campus to keep the students engaged. There are networking sessions, games, and free food. There are so many clubs to join and engage in their activities. I participate once a week in an activity. The clubs are from cultural, academic as well as hobby backgrounds.
Dislikes (Part time work): The University has not provided us with much options for part-time. Students mostly seek part-time jobs outside. It is quite manageable if you keep your classes for 3 days and work 3 days. You can balance work and studies. The average payout for part-time work is Aud 450 per week.

A very homely and wholesome experience.
Tips: It's one of the most livable cities in the world, and it's very student-oriented, which makes it easy to make friends. The university itself has a QS ranking of 13, which makes it the best university in Melbourne, and definitely one of the best in the world. I recommend that you try to make friends in each class you have. If you're an introvert, there are lots of activities that don't require you to mingle with people so much. I'm very satisfied with my experience at the University of Melbourne.
Likes (Internships): Internships here are very popular. While it may be hard to find a paid internship, there are a lot of companies that offer unpaid internships. If you do a good job, you may be able to parlay that experience into a paid position after graduation. I suggest that you download LinkedIn and start networking with people in your field.
Dislikes (Part time work): For Bachelor students, it's a bit hard to get a paid job because Australia mostly considers Australian work experience. However, you can move your way up by joining university clubs and internships, even if they're unpaid. Basically, you just need to engage yourself in activities.

Tips: You are on your own to find a job. The course is difficult and you have to be constantly working during the semester. You should have good financial background and good academic skills. In order to secure a job, make sure you work hard throughout the course, and maintain a good WAM. If you want to go into the industry, try to get some professional experience beforehand. A lot of people are considering a Ph.D. after my course.
Likes (Safety): The country is safe as everyone knows. Generally no thefts or risks to women. Of course, it is not crime-free. The chances of your cycle getting stolen are high. Also, there are people on the street under the influence who can be a nuisance sometimes as they sometimes shoot but often they don't do any harm.
Dislikes (Internships): No internships are provided by the university. You have to find one yourself. However, it is generally hard to find an internship. It is not that tough to find part-time jobs but still requires some work. Good connections can be really helpful for finding a job.

Tips: Students should know that the most important part is understanding that academics are much more challenging than one can imagine. And to add to this, you have other challenges like financial and social challenges to deal with. As a student, you need to manage and hold everything together. The country is safe to explore and the transportation facilities are widely available. Try to opt for part-time opportunities to maintain your budget.
Likes (Safety): The city is very secure and it is one of the best cities to live in the world. It is safe because people follow laws, rules and regulations and you would not see anyone on the road with a knife so until you are a good citizen you are safe here.
Dislikes (Value for money): Even after receiving a scholarship, the fee is too much. If you are not from a very well-to-do family and have taken a loan to be a part of a prestigious university, even if you get a good job, you have a huge amount to pay back. So it is not about what is provided, it's more about how much it costs.

Tips: Students should know that the college offers strong academic support, a diverse community and plenty of extracurricular opportunities. But it's important to stay organised and proactive. Transitioning here was smooth for me, though I did experience a cultural shift in terms of communication style and classroom participation. Overall, I am satisfied with my university, course and the country; the learning experience, quality of life and the global exposure have been truly rewarding.
Likes (Safety): The campus feels very secure, with regular patrols, CCTV, and STOP 1 in case of any emergency. In addition, ID checks, late-night transport, and mental health support add to the sense of safety. I've had only positive experiences in the city.
Dislikes (Student Life): The campus is vibrant and engaging, with diverse events and clubs. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, attending classes, and participating in cultural and tech events. There is always something new to explore at the university.
