Concordia University and InterDigital joined forces for a research collaboration on AI-enabled Immersive Media Delivery over 5G Networks.
Concordia University’s Intelligent Next Generation Networking and Multimedia (IN2GM) Lab announced a multi-year research and development collaboration with InterDigital, Inc., a mobile, video and AI technology research and development company.
The collaboration will give PhD and master’s students an opportunity to explore tools that support AI-enabled end-to-end delivery of immersive media over 5G networks. The collaboration aims to design an end-to-end immersive media transport system, addressing media delivery, and media consumption, media packaging, media ingesting, that abides by media coding standards set by IETF, MPEG, and 3GPP.

The program invited Concordia master’s and PhD students with expertise in immersive media, next-gen network systems and applications, networking and media delivery protocols, AI/ML for networking and media delivery optimization to contribute to the program.
Concordia University application deadline for international students
For Fall Term 2024, the application deadline is over, and for Winter Term, the application deadline is November 1. The international students are requested to apply by September 1 to allow sufficient time for CAQ and study permit application processing. The MBA application deadline for international students is June 1, 2024.

Following is the application process for admission to the MBA 2024:
Step 1: Select your program: There are nearly 130 graduate programs to choose from apart from the master’s, PhD, diploma or certificate program at Concordia. Before applying, make sure you understand your tuition fees as they vary by program and student status.
Step 2: Confirm requirements: The following are the basic requirements for the programs -
- A bachelor’s/baccalaureate or equivalent with high standing to pursue Master’s, diploma and graduate certificate programs.
- You must have completed a master’s/magisteriate or equivalent with high standing to take admissions in Doctoral programs.
Step 3: Start your application: Begin by creating your Concordia account (Netname). You can use your Netname to log back into your application if you need more than one session to complete it.
You may need to submit a portfolio, additional documents and test scores with your application, or secure a supervisor before you apply. English is the main language of instruction at Concordia.
Step 4: Follow up: After you apply, keep monitoring your application status. Once you have applied, you should receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. The email will include your eight-digit student ID number.
