How to register OET exam? To make a booking for the Occupational English Test, you need to create an online profile on MyOET (Official Website). The OET exam has been designed for healthcare professionals wanting to work or study in foreign destinations. The OET test is priced at AUD $587. Those appearing for the computer-based exam in the USA will have to pay US $455. As per a survey conducted by OET officials, 85% of those who registered for the test stated that it was excellent or more than the average value for money. There is no age limit to appear in the OET exam. If you fulfil educational qualification criteria then you can appear for the exam. In short, candidates of any age can apply for the exam. However, the exam is specifically designed for healthcare professionals, so applicants must have a medical degree. 

Q:   Do I need a degree to appear for OET Exam?

There is no official announcement about educational qualification for OET exam. Q:   Is passport required to register for OET exam?

No, it is not a mandatory document to have at the time of OET registration. You can use a valid national government-issued ID as well such as an Adhar card. How to Register for OET?

Candidates looking to apply for the OET exam would have to follow the steps mentioned below

  • Candidates would be required to visit the new OET official website: https://oet.com
  • On the top right-hand side of the page click on 'Book a Test'
  • On the next page enter your test location and click on 'Find a Test'. Depending upon whether you want to take the computer test or paper test, select your test centre and click on 'Book now'. Create an OET login. 
  • OET test-takers would be required to create a profile by providing the candidate's personal information, a profile photo, proof of ID, and a valid email address
  • Candidates would be then required to follow the instructions to select the OET test date and the OET test centre and go ahead and apply for the OET exam
  • Once the test taker has selected and reviewed his OET test details, he will be required to proceed to checkout
  • As a final step, the candidate would be required to pay an OET exam fee of AUD 587 / USD 455 and complete his OET registration process
  • Note that the booking closing dates refer to OET on paper. Bookings for OET on the computer at a test venue close 10 days before the test date (11:59 PM UTC time); bookings for OET Home close 7 days before the test date (11:59 PM UTC).

OET Special Accommodation

CBLA – the conducting body of OET is committed to providing suitable arrangements to all candidates with special requirements. However, there is a procedure for the same. All requests for special arrangements should be made with all the required details and the same should be supported with documentary proof. The special arrangement request should be made as early as possible for the benefit of the candidate registering for the OET test as well as the conducting body. CBLA guarantees that all requests would be looked into personally. However, in case special arrangements are not fulfilled, then the test venue or test date would be deferred to accommodate the candidate, gratis or the candidate can apply for a full refund.

OET Exam: Important Points to Remember Before the Test

Candidates need to report at the test venue before the reporting time mentioned. In case a candidate is late in reporting to the test venue he or she may not be allowed entry into the examination hall. Personal items that are only mentioned in the official website guidelines are allowed inside the examination hall. OET Exam 2024 Fee

OET registration: Candidates looking to register for the OET exam would be required to pay an OET Exam fee of AUD 587 or Rs 32,660 (AUD 1 = 55.64) as part of the registration process.  At the time of OET registration, candidates would be required to keep their Credit Card or details of their payment mode handy, a digital passport photo, and a valid passport as documentation proof. Candidates would be required to carefully fill in their details in the online application form, upload a digital passport photograph by the photo guidelines mentioned on the official website, and above all provide a valid passport as document proof. As mentioned earlier, candidates are required to pay the OET Exam fee of $587AUD which includes a booking fee of $7AUD and GST.

How to cancel your OET Registration?

A lot of times candidates register for the OET exam however they are not able to appear for the reasons known best to them. In such situations, candidates should be informed that applicants can check the official website for their withdrawal policy and withdrawal fees. Those candidates who have registered for the exam and would like to opt for a different date or venue or both would have to pay an extra fee for the date change and/or an extra fee for a venue change, subject to availability. OET Rescheduling Fees

As with all exams, candidates who are looking to reschedule their OET test dates due to reasons best known to them can do so with an added fee. Candidates looking to reschedule or defer their OET tested dates would be required to pay an OET rescheduling fee as mentioned on the official website.

A:

The fee for OET at Home is AUD 587 (INR 32,160). The amount is the same as OET at a test centre. Note that you will not get any reimbursement for arranging the computer setup required for taking the test. You need to manage this by yourself.

At the time of the test, you must have your valid passport and your Aadhaar card for verification.

Q:   What is the cancellation fee for OET exam?

A:

The OET cancellation fee varies depending on the timeline of cancellation of your test. You can cancel your OET on Paper test for a refund up to one week before test day. Similarly, OET on Computer test cancellation is allowed at least two before the test date.

If you cancel after the booking closing date:

  • OET on Paper: AUD 200 + AUD 7 non-refundable booking fee
  • OET on Computer or OET at Home: AUD 200.

OET Slot Booking 2024

At the time of the OET registration process, test takers are required to select their OET Exam Date and OET test centres. Candidates should keep in mind that it is always advisable to book your OET exam slot before time to avoid any last-minute hassle.

A:

OET registration is one-time process where you create your new profile using personal details, and photo id. On the other hand, OET slot booking, You can book multiple slots for the OET exam after registering.  It allows you to choose your preferred test centre and test type. This is the identical OET exam that is conducted at a test centre. However, the OET at Home would be an OET computer-based test that would be conducted from the safety of the home of the candidate. The OET at Home - computer-based test is currently available in select destinations and for Medicine and Nursing subjects. More subjects are being added to the facility.

The initiative has been done to make the OET exam more inclusive of healthcare professionals who are planning to go abroad to work or study and need OET scores as part of their application process. Candidates who are planning to book their OET at Home test are required to check the mandatory system requirements needed for the OET exam. Candidates would also require to have a test conducive environment during the entire duration of th OET exam.

Q:   What is OET at Home?

A:

Applicants of the Occupational English Test can now take the OET exam at home by sitting at their home in their comfort zone. With the help of this facility, you do not need to step out of your home to go to the OET test centre. All you need to do is arrange all hardware and software requirements.

Q:   What is the highest score in OET exam?

The highest possible score for each of the four sub-tests in OET is 500 in ten-point increments. It is not one of the toughest exams but you need to prepare well to achieve a high score.
