Know all about OET scores below:
How to access OET scores?
OET Scores: Healthcare professionals who have appeared for their OET exam can check their OET scores 16 business days from the day of the OET exam. OET test takers are required to enter their OET login credentials on the official website: https://www.occupationalenglishtest.org/ to access their online OET accounts where their OET scores would be published. Furthermore, candidates can also download the hard copy of their OET statement of results from their online profile.
What is the validity of OET scores?
OET score validity: A lot of times, test takers are under the impression that their OET validity is limited to two years. This is not entirely true. The OET validity is not determined by the Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment Trust (CBLA) - the conducting body of the OET test like other tests but by the regulatory authorities that are going to require your OET scores would determine OET validity.
The OET official website does not provide a duration for the validity of the OET exam. Candidates are required to check with the concerned authorities (e.g. boards and councils, government departments) that recognize the OET exam about the duration of the validity of the OET results pre-determined by them.
What is a good OET Score?
Perhaps one of the most searched queries for healthcare professionals appearing for the OET exam revolves around a good OET score or an average OET score. The OET exam does not have a good score or average score benchmark. However, candidates are expected to comfortably get well over the 350 marks in each sub-test to be eligible for the best opportunities. Candidates are always advised to check with the significant council or board to stay up-to-date with the current demand of the market.
How is OET Exam Scored?
Answer booklets of Listening Part A and Reading Part A are assigned to OET Assessors at random for marking. Answer booklets of Listening Part B and Reading Parts B and C are computer scanned and automatically scored. Audio files and scripts for Writing and Speaking sub-tests are assigned and rated by multiple-trained OET Assessors at random to avoid any conflict. Candidates can check the OET official website, link provided above, for the detailed score reporting procedure. Candidates who are unsatisfied with the outcome of their results can appeal for a reevaluation of the remarking of their answer sheets.
OET Score Reporting (section-wise)
The OET exam is made up of four subtests (Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening) and each section is marked on a scale of 0 - 500 in ten-point increments. Candidates should note, that OET does NOT publish an overall grade for your OET performance. The numerical score received by the candidate is further mapped to a separate alphabet grade for each subtest ranging from A (Highest) to E (Lowest).
