History
King’s College was founded along with the traditions of Church of England in 1829 as a royal charter by the Duke of Wellington and King George IV. Later when the University of London was established in 1836 then King’s College became one of the founding colleges. Some of the mergers of the college include the Chelsea and Queen Elizabeth Colleges in 1985, Institute pf Psychiatry in 1997 and United Medical and Dental Schools in 1998.
