Russia: Tver State Medical University Announces 300 Seats for Indian Students
Russia is a popular destination for Indian students who are interested in pursuing medical courses from abroad. Recently Tver State Medical University of Russia announced 300 seats for Indian students this year.
Tver State Medical University conducted a webinar yesterday aimed at prospective Indian students and their parents. Rector of Tver State Medical University, Professor Lesya Vasilyevna Chichanovskaya talked about various aspects of the university’s offerings and admission procedures.
Professor Chichanovskaya revealed that the university plans to admit 300 Indian students this year. The applications for admission are expected to start on May 2 with Rus Education serving as the designated International admission partner for Indian students.
The education for Indians will be primarily in English but the university will also offer Russian language classes during the initial year so that the student will be able to effectively interact with the patient after the course.
The Rector assured the attendees that the practical training would be imparted through the university’s robust clinical base.
Tver State Medical University hosts approximately 1400 international students, with 850 hailing from India. The university has established specialized departments for adaptation and safety to address the safety concerns of international students.

Tver State Medical University MBBS admission to start soon for 2024
The university is soon going to start MBBS admission for the year 2024.
Moreover, the period of study of the educational programmes is 6 years for the Faculties of General Medicine and Paediatrics and 5 years for the Faculties of Stomatology and Pharmacy.
The documents required for admission are - a certificate of education and its supplement with grades, a translation of the certificate of education with a supplement, verified by the notary (a copy of the document and the translation should be sewn and notarized), a passport, registration, migration card, visa, translation of a passport page with personal data, verified by the notary (a copy of the passport and the translation should be sewn and notarized), three matte and coloured photos 3×4, one photo in case the documents are submitted through the personal account of the applicant, application for admission, consent to process personal data, consent to share personal data, and a certificate of the preparatory department completion (if any).
The Tver State Medical Academy has 6 faculties including the Faculty of General Medicine, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Pediatrics, Pharmaceutical Faculty, Faculty of Advanced Nursing Education, and Faculty of Postgraduate Studies.
The Medical Academy of the university is a home for 4700 students simultaneously. Every third student in the Academy is a foreign national. The Academy consists of 63 theoretical and clinical departments. It occupies 6000 beds in 10 various hospitals, including specialized hospitals for oncology, tuberculosis, infectious, skin and sexually transmitted diseases. The Academy owns a dental clinic of more than 200 chairs, the clinic is considered one of the best and most advanced in the country, according to the official website.

Indian applicants must pass the NEET UG Exam, along with scoring a 50% in physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in their 10+2 exams. NEET-UG is a mandatory entrance exam or UG medical programs in India and abroad. Thus, while BSMU doesn’t administer its own entrance exam, NEET UG qualification is necessary foe eligibility to study in Bashkir State Medical University.
