Master of Psychology (Clinical)

• Hold a good Honours degree (at least second class and above) or equivalent (i.e. four-year Bachelor's degree with an average of at least B or equivalent) in psychology or closely related field (counselling, applied psychology, etc.). This can be either a three-year or four-year Honours degree; OR
• Hold a good Masters degree in a sub-discipline of psychology or a closely related discipline (i.e. counselling, applied psychology, etc.). Under these circumstances, the candidate will qualify, even if they hold a lower Honours degree as well.
• Completion of Honours research thesis to indicate that the candidate possesses the required research skills and can carry out research projects. Where candidates have not done an Honours thesis, then alternative evidence is required (i.e. carried out independent research projects, worked as a research assistant later; published research papers in peer-reviewed journals; completed research project/thesis in subsequent postgraduate courses; etc.).

A minimum of One year full time or equivalent part time (does not have to be continuous employment) of relevant psychology practical/applied and/or relevant clinical research experience (i.e. working as a psychologist, assistant or associate psychologist, therapist, learning support assistant, research assistant or researcher etc.; in applied psychology, psychiatric, special needs, social service or VWO settings), ideally supervised by a Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist. Both the duration and quality of the work undertaken are considered in the overall evaluation.
