UC Merced, Las Positas College alliance to enhance educational pathways

The significant agreement between Las Positas College and UC Merced marks a landmark moment for both institutions. The partnership aims to bridge educational gaps and promote positive academic outcomes for all students, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Las Positas College announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of California Merced to add to its commitment to facilitate seamless transitions for students. Through this agreement, both institutes have pledged to prioritize the smooth progression of students from Las Positas College to UC Merced. The partnership will ensure that these students get essential resources and support to excel in their academic endeavours.
“This MOU signifies our shared commitment to student success and academic excellence. By working closely with UC Merced we can provide our students with expanded opportunities for higher education and empower them to pursue and achieve their educational and career goals,” said Las Positas President Dyrell Foster, as reported by Pleasantonweekly.

Las Positas College International Admission Requirements, Application Process
An applicant who is a high school graduate or equivalent thereof, or who is 18 years of age or older and who can profit from the instruction offered is eligible to apply for admissions to Las Positas College.
The following are the steps to apply for the college:

- International Student Supplemental Application which includes - a Certificate of Financial Responsibility, Bank Certification (showing more than $23,428), International Student Agreement, and Negative Tuberculosis Test.

The new arrival in the US must provide:
- Copy of U.S. visa, passport biographic page, and Form
- Proof of Medical Insurance

The University of South Dakota expects a GPA score of 2.5 from undergraduates and 3 from postgraduates on the 4-pointer scale.
