UK student visa, which has replaced the Tier 4 (General) student visa costs £524 for students applying from outside of the UK. The UK student visa fees is also £524 for students applying for an extension on their existing student visa validity or switching to a student visa from another visa category from within the UK.

Proof of Funds for UK Student Visa: Money You Need to Support Yourself in the UK

To apply for the UK student visa, you must show the authorities that you have sufficient money to support yourself and the cost of your education in the UK. This condition can be exempted if you have been staying in the UK on a valid visa for the last 12 months on the date of your application.

The money you need to show must be available in your bank account for at least 28 consecutive days within 31 days of the date of your application. The amount of money you need to show varies and depends on the place you choose to study in the UK. The financial requirements for a UK Student Visa are given below.

Indian students are required to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) to access the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK. They can avail of the NHS from the day their UK student visa validity starts, given that they have paid the IHS.

Dependants of the main applicant of the UK student visa also need to pay a designated amount of IHS for their stay in the country. If the dependent is 18 years or older, then they need to pay the same amount of IHS as the main applicant.
