US colleges and universities are also working in this direction so that students can attend in-person classes this fall (2021). As the COVID-19 threat is still not over, so, countries are taking a cautious approach to allowing travelers from other nations to enter their boundaries. As universities are planning to resume in-person teaching from remote classes, candidates around the world are hopeful that things will be better this year. Currently, US universities are not following a uniform policy regarding opening their campuses to students. Brown, Northeastern, and Cornell universities have told students to get vaccinated before returning to campus next fall. The University of Florida is vaccinating its enrolled students and does not require vaccination for new international students who will be joining USF this fall. 18th-Oct-2021: US has lifted pandemic restrictions for fully vaccinated individuals beginning Nov 8 White House has announced that fully vaccinated foreign visitors will be able to travel to the US by air and land from Nov 8, 2021. Unvaccinated travelers are still not allowed to enter the US. According to the US health authorities, all vaccines approved by the World Health Organization and the Food and Drug Administration would be accepted for air travelers. These include the AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, and Sinovac vaccines.

Indians traveling to the US will need to show proof of vaccination before taking their flight and also need to show proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test.

  • It has announced that students and employees on campus need to get vaccinated

  • U of California are planning to students and employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the fall

The University of Michigan

Require vaccines for students who live on campus

  • It will require vaccine for students who plan to live on campus this fall

Colleges in Northeastern Iowa

Not required students to be vaccinated

  • Colleges in Northeastern Iowa do not require students to be vaccinated as it is their personal health decision

Johns Hopkins University

Require students to be vaccinated before fall

  • The university wants students and faculty to be vaccinated before returning to campus

Few universities have also made arrangements to administer vaccines to students on their campus. Rutgers has said that they will vaccinate their students, staff, and faculty according to public health guidelines. They will also vaccinate international students once they arrive. Also, students will not be allowed on campus until two weeks after the final dose of the vaccine.
