History
UNSW was established in 1949. It celebrated its first trailblazers such as the first international student in 1950 and the first female graduate in 1952. The university was originally named ‘New South Wales University of Technology’. Finally, in 1958, the university’s name was changed to the University of New South Wales. Then, in 1960, the faculties of Arts and Medicine were established and the Faculty of Law came into being in 1971.
