Good facilities and helpful faculty.
Tips: Taking admission at the University of Birmingham was an enriching experience. While I initially experienced a cultural shift, I adjusted over time. I also received a merit-based scholarship with allowance support and am very satisfied with the university, course, and overall UK experience.
Likes (Safety): I felt secure both inside and outside of the college. Besides campus security, there are CCTV cameras, well-lit streets, emergency help, and regular police patrols. My overall experience in the city has been positive, with locals being helpful and friendly.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are limited choices from my home country. The area has a mix of cafes, fast-food chains, and some mid-range Asian restaurants. While prices are moderate, regular dining out can be expensive, so I prefer cooking at home.

Tips: You need to learn to manage your time well. In my course, we hardly had any breaks, and during term time, it was difficult to have a work-life balance. I came across some people who are not mentally prepared for it. I did not get any time for a part-time job during my term times as I had multiple exams, assignments, and a dissertation along with a tight lecture schedule from 9 am to 6 pm. However, it's not the same for all courses. Most of the courses have only Assignments and absolutely no exams at all, and their lecture schedule is also quite flexible. In other universities in Birmingham, such as Aston, the lecture schedule is quite flexible, which gives students ample amount of time to pursue part-time jobs.
Likes (Student Life): For those who are proactive, believe in taking initiative and want to excel in their career, the University of Birmingham offers endless opportunities for growth. They host various job fairs, career seminars, personality development and skill enhancement seminars, intercultural awareness workshops for international students and formal English modules that you can add to your course and all without any additional fees.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Recently UK has updated their post-study work visa policy, amending the duration for PSW from 2 years to 1 Year 6 months. The time limit for getting citizenship has been increased from 5 years previously to 10 years now, which makes the UK a tough call for someone looking for settlement. Moreover, taxes are super high, which makes the UK unfeasible as an option to settle abroad.

The road to pushing and knowing your limits.
Tips: It taught me a lot of things. I used to be an introvert and had no confidence in talking to strangers, but it brought me out of my shell. I learned how to cook, take care of my finances, look for a house, etc. I am now a much more confident person. Not a lot, but just that people here are pretty self-involved in both good and bad ways. There aren't a lot of scholarships for B-Schools, but like 2-3 people in our class got them from the University. I didn't get one. I believe the university holds a good reputation, and the course was newly launched, so I wouldn't judge it yet because they are improving their curriculum, but it was quite easy, not as stressful as I had thought.
Likes (Public transportation): The University is quite well connected, which was one of the most comfortable aspects. The campus is huge, so you'll have to walk a little, but it's quite good, actually. Buses are pretty convenient, and there is even a train station on the campus itself. Buses and trains cost fairly okay if you take the monthly passes, or if you are in a group, they are even cheaper, so travelling should not be an issue.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Not a lot of companies are willing to give you a visa sponsorship. While some graduate roles might provide that opportunity, even then, there is a 30% chance you'll land a sponsored job as companies prefer candidates who already have the right to work. Salary packages can range anywhere between 28-50,000/annum. There can be many titles for a job role, but the work varies from company to company.

Tips: Before joining the University of Birmingham, it is essential to manage their time well, especially with dividing the academic workload, networking with professors and peers, and getting involved in campus activities. Also, be prepared for a different teaching style and expectations compared to home. The city is generally safe and the campus facilities are good. There are occasional cons in certain parts of the city particularly at night. The overall crime rate is low, but it's always important to stay alert and follow safety tips. Dislikes (Indian Food): While it is sometimes difficult to find authentic dishes from my country, I have been able to find local stores that serve familiar flavours. Likes (Quality of faculty): Well-experienced faculty members from all over the world. They were easily accessible and ready to help at any time. Classes were conducted in seminar halls with a video recording option, so we can access them at any time after that throughout our lifetime.

Tips: The faculty is the major highlight of the university. Everyone was an expert in their own fields. Their ability to blend theoretical concepts with practical applications made learning engaging. The feature of assigning a personal tutor to every student helped everyone get the academic guidance and support they needed. The best experience for a student.
Tips: There definitely was a cultural shift for me. But nothing most people can't handle. It took me a while to learn certain things that India didn't teach us. I got a commonwealth scholarship of 2000 pounds. About the university, the infrastructure and technology blew my mind. It is the perfect place to study.
Likes (Safety): Birmingham is a very safe city. Even through the night it is mostly alive. One thing to keep in mind is to avoid the canals. In the year and a half that I lived there, I did not have any bad experience. As long as we don't go out of line, I'd say we will have no trouble.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): They have no placement drives like the ones we have in India. We have to look for jobs ourselves. Given that the UK is in a recession, it is very difficult to find jobs in the country. They prefer hiring a fresher who is from the UK or EU rather than someone for whom they would have to sponsor a visa.

Tips: There are many cultural shifts once you arrive here in the UK. Coming here is one thing and starting living and sustaining here is another thing, From managing studies, and exam pressure to financial hurdles, and homesickness an individual has their journey uniquely. In the UK, people tend to be more individuals and have fewer family links and social organisations. India's culture is more closer and conservative than Britain's. No, I did not avail of any scholarships, though advised to apply for them as quickly as possible. I am quite satisfied with the university, programme and country. We just need to stay focused and keep working hard until we find some good full-time opportunity.
Likes (Student Life): A typical day starts early in the morning, getting ready for either a lecture to attend or a sports session such as swimming, badminton, basketball, gym or tennis etc. Then after coming back, prepare food for lunch and evening, then study and go to sleep after some fun time with friends. The most enjoyable thing that I used to do in my college life was going to play sports and get myself involved in activities such as fitness and sports. There are diverse events organised by various societies under the Guild of Students, ranging from cultural fests to simple events on going on campus or student accommodation. I used to participate as maximum as possible if I had spare time to socialize and have fun in those events. Student clubs are there for all types of interests, academic programs, backgrounds, nationalities, religious beliefs, etc. Such as business societies, photography, gaming, Hindu, Islamic, and Sikh societies, International Students Club, volunteering and UNICEF communities, dance clubs, etc.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The only opportunities for students available on campus are Career Fair, where recruiters and companies visit campus and interact with the students directly. Very few sponsor visas, for the rest, students have to take up graduate visa route on their own. Most of the roles are for freshers such as graduate scheme roles, graduate management or trainee, financial auditor, etc. The starting average annual salary is 30,000 pounds.

The faculty is very friendly and the classes are very interactive and engaging.
Tips: I have grown as a person, become more independent, and more mature since entering university. There were some cultural shocks and differences, but mostly how kind and accepting most people were. That feels like the norm now. I did not receive any scholarships, but I am very satisfied with my university experience.
Likes (Safety): I have a very active social life at the University of Birmingham. I spend my time studying, attending class, and working out at the gym. If I have any energy left, I like to go out with friends. There are many social events on campus that I can attend. The student body is very diverse, and everyone is kind and accepting of everyone else. The staff is very helpful and always there to support and talk to new students.
Dislikes (Student Life): The staff at the University of Birmingham are very kind and helpful. The university is incredibly inclusive and diverse, and the staff is very attentive to everyone's problems. Tips: Coming to study at the University of Birmingham is a good place to get accustomed to changes in your lifestyle. I have not applied for Permanent Settlement in the country, but I would consider staying here if I could. The University makes you aware of many opportunities that could help you transition into settling down here. Overall, I am very satisfied with the University.
Likes (Part time work): The University of Birmingham provides several opportunities for part-time and casual work. You can manage both academics and part-time work, but off-campus opportunities may require more time and effort. You get paid on an hourly basis, at an average rate of 11 per hour.

Thriving at the Univeristy of Birmingham: Independence, diversity, and opportunity.
Tips: As for the University of Birmingham, it is a great university that prepares you well for the world where you are no longer a kid who only has to worry about grades. Coming here has taught me to be independent financially and mentally. The campus is very diverse which lets me immerse in different cultural experiences. The student union is always there to support you from safety to mental well-being. The University also celebrates every cultural festival from Diwali to Ramadan, which never gives you the feeling of a home away from home. I did secure an academic scholarship for my course which is funded by the university themselves. Although the cost of living is quite high at the moment. But other than that, this is an amazing opportunity for me where I get to do a course I love at an exceptional Russel group university at the heart of Birmingham that offers all the support and advice.
Likes (Internships): The University has a huge careers network, with each college having its own. They provide excellent one-to-one advice on getting work experience, internships, volunteering, full-time jobs, etc. They also provide several other services like mock interviews that prepare you for the real challenge in the application process. For students with zero or very limited experience, the University offers a programme called B-Experienced, through which internships provided by companies offer special spots for students from the University of Birmingham. Hence when it comes to work experience and career in general, the University of Birmingham is a great choice.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The current UK government has tightened immigration policies, which might make permanent immigration options a bit harder. Also, if you secure a good job in a company that is ready to sponsor you, then that's great. However, most postgraduate students struggle with this aspect.

Tips: It is always better to connect with multiple people and faculty members to know what's going on near you and what opportunities exist for the future. I also think joining societies is a great option to keep the stream off while enjoying your university experience. Public transportation in Birmingham is good. It connects the whole city and buses are frequent. However, buses may be delayed due to various reasons, which can be a problem for students commuting to lectures or work during peak hours. I suggest checking the routes and buses beforehand so that you know the average commute time.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I was an international student at the University of Birmingham. I found that there were no jobs at all for international students. I faced extreme competition in finding jobs, and the university didn't provide any guidance or help with these issues. This made the situation worse than it might have been otherwise.

Tips: The campus is beautiful and there are a lot of activities to do, so you won't feel bored during your initial couple of weeks. After that you get busy with assignments and academics, so you'll spend most of the time going back and forth from the lectures to your accommodation, and part-time work. Like in India, there's not much pressure on studies, which can either be a good or a bad thing. I'm happy with the fact that the university is well-recognised and gives students career guidance. The current job market is tough in the UK to get a job, so only time will tell whether it's worth it or not.
Likes (Safety): Safety can be a matter of different experiences for different people. I never had safety concerns even when walking down the street late at night. Of course, you need to be a bit cautious of your surroundings. The campus does provide an app, and some safety gadgets during the welcome week, as well as a free bus to Sell Oak to travel when it gets dark during winter.
Dislikes (Public transportation): You can travel by train or bus. Buses are usually more connected than trains but are generally late, and it doesn't matter if you check the scheduled time on Google Maps or bus stop, they will make you wait for 15-20 minutes 90% of the time. I also don't think public transport is very affordable. It's 2 pounds for a ticket whether you want to get off at the Next bus stop or after the 15 bus stop. A monthly bus pass is now 49 pounds for students, but they keep increasing the price every year. Last year it was 46 pounds.

An amazing experience that needs a closure.
Tips: Students should be open to everything the university has to offer. Embrace the life that comes along with it. It's simple but effective in the long run, and you won't regret it later on. Of course, there will always be things you couldn't be a part of, but that's okay. Cherish the rest of your time there, and you'll look back and cherish it all for sure. I'm pretty satisfied with my time at University College Dublin.
Likes (Part time work): They've got a pretty good system for roles within the university and I'm a recipient of them. If going through the right channel and succeed in your interviews/assessment centres, the opportunities within the university are crazy for part-time. It is quite manageable with your coursework given the fact that you have good time management skills. The average payout is 12/hour.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It's pretty fragile and extremely difficult to obtain sponsorship after the course commences and the Graduate visa is granted. I wouldn't likely want to permanently immigrate here as I've got other preference in life and this country doesn't fulfil them all.

Tips: Before starting university, make sure you're comfortable with basic household tasks like cooking and cleaning. Students spend a lot of time studying, and learning these skills ahead of time can save you considerable time and help you keep up with the assignments, attend classes, and still enjoy university life. Birmingham is a fantastic city with access to nearly everything you might need, from Indian utensils and spices to food and there's almost nothing you won't find. However, if your mood is affected by the weather, be prepared for long stretches of gray, rainy days, with little sunlight for 6-7 months. The climate can be challenging, so building emotional resilience is helpful as well.
Likes (Public transportation): Buses are very frequent and you can get a bus in 5-10 minutes. The university has also its own bus service which is run for specific routes every day. The university has an integrity rail on the campus which also connects to the major and minor stations of the city.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): All the big 4 and MBB companies visited the university for the job fairs and offered internships and advice for the proper route for full-time jobs and with several on-campus activities to polish your soft and hard skills. The starting salary of a Business analyst with no or little experience at all is 338500 to 346000.

The people here are generally nice, and there are always security guards and police officers around to keep everyone safe. If you are thinking about moving here, I would say that you should consider it. The city has a lot to offer, and I think you will be happy with your decision. Tips: My transition in this country was generally good, but sometimes I encounter difficulties sending money. There is a bit of a cultural shift, but not much. I was awarded a scholarship, but it was not at my university, which makes things difficult. The total cost of living allowances is 250 dollars per week in New Zealand dollars. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience.
Likes (Student Life): The University of Auckland has a lot to offer students. The campus has a wide variety of facilities, including sports facilities, common rooms for eating and sleeping, and computer rooms. The library is housed in a separate building, and the campus is located within a 3km radius of the city centre.
Dislikes (Internships): There are not many internships available, and the available ones are difficult to get. To cover the cost of living, students should apply for scholarships. Another benefit of getting a scholarship is that you can get university housing at half price, and if you live in university housing, your recreation is free.

The city is expensive and it is difficult to find part time job.
Tips: This college is nice, and most of the faculty are really nice. However, some teachers have a very memory-based teaching method, which makes it difficult to learn the concepts that are being taught. Also, Auckland is very expensive, especially rent, so students should do their research on the country and the college before deciding to study here. Finding a job is very difficult, both part-time and full-time, so students should consider all their options, including studying in Australia.
Likes (Indian Food): Auckland has a large Indian community, and as a result, there are a lot of Indian restaurants and grocery stores in the city. Indian restaurants cost about 30-40 dollars per meal. The restaurants are expensive, but if you buy groceries at Indian stores and cook at home, you can save a lot of money. The grocery stores also have a wide variety of Indian ingredients that you can use to cook your own meals.
Dislikes (Part time work): The job market in Auckland is very tough as the country is deep in recession, and there are no part-time jobs. Students might find some casual jobs, but those are one-offs, and the students cannot rely on them. Barely any student in my Cohort has a job yet. It has been around more than 5 months and everyone is just relying on the money from parents. Living costs are through the roof so surviving here as a student is stressful and tough.

University Of Auckland: Opportunities, growth and adaptation.
Tips: Students should be aware that the coursework here is intensive, so time management is crucial. They should explore the resources available to them such as the library, labs and student clubs. One should also do a thorough research of the cost of living in the respective area. I am also a recipient of the University of Auckland India Achievers Scholarship, which partly covered my tuition fees for a year. I applied by submitting my academic transcripts, statement of purpose and recommendation letters. Overall, I am very happy to be a student here and look forward to gaining work experience after completing my studies.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation system in Auckland is very convenient. Buses and trains run frequently and the routes are well-connected to major areas. Students can easily commute to and from campus using a Transportation Card that can be used on all public transport with just a tap. The card needs to be recharged once it gets exhausted.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The University of Auckland has a diverse faculty, but the quality of the teaching faculty varies greatly from department to department. The faculty in my department is comprised of some of the most highly skilled mathematics professors in New Zealand. They are knowledgeable and experienced, and use innovative teaching methods. However, it can be difficult to reach out to them because of the large number of students they have to handle.

Tips: Adapting to a new academic environment and living independently has been a valuable experience for me. There was a cultural shift, but I found it exciting and enriching to learn about new traditions, interact with diverse people, and adapt to a different way of life. I am very satisfied with my decision. The course has provided excellent academic exposure, and living here has been a transformative experience. The people are friendly and always ready to help. The faculty are highly talented and will guide us throughout the semester. There are many networking opportunities on-campus for students. I chose the right course, university, and country for my aspirations. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.

Tips: The culture itself is very diverse with a lot of clubs and event always going on. I did not apply for any scholarships, however, there are plenty to apply for and always advertised in and outside of class. I am, overall, very satisfied with the University of Auckland, the quality of my engineering courses, and the kiwi atmosphere as a whole.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty are all easily accessible by email, in-person after classes, and via office hours which they all offer. Teaching methods vary across faculty members however they all ask for feedback and cater to each class to meet the class's wants and needs. The teaching faculty is incredibly diverse in both nationality and gender.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The campus is very well connected with the rest of the city, in fact it is in the centre. Public transport is everywhere, and you can use it to get anywhere, however, the prices have gone up, so I highly recommend applying for a Tertiary Study discount.

Overall, I’ve loved my experience here.
Tips: I found the transition easy as everyone was super friendly. I stayed in halls in my first year. I was able to make friends easily, as I have always been a very social person. The halls were the right place for me to be, and I would recommend it to all of you.
Likes (Part time work): I work as a student ambassador and editor of our magazine, both of which pay me around 25 dollars an hour. The work is hectic but manageable. The magazine is a 5-hour-a-week work, and student ambassadors let me pick up shifts according to my convenience.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I usually cook for myself. I just haven't found the best authentic Indian food. I'm sure there are many restaurants, especially outside the city, but I tend to cook at home because I enjoy it more. There are a lot of good Asian restaurants that I often go to.

Stressful but great support from the faculty.
Tips: I have lived in New Zealand for a while, so I did not experience any feelings of cultural change. However, I do believe that within my field of studies, some races can be less privileged than others. On the positive side, there is a lot of support from teaching staff. On the negative side, the workload can be very stressful, especially near the end of the semester. Also, it is becoming increasingly difficult for immigrants to settle in New Zealand. It was difficult for them to come here, but based on more recent times, it is even more difficult for individuals to come here and build a life.
Likes (Student Life): I usually go to class and then get something to eat. Recently, I went to a student market day, which was a lot of fun. There was music playing, and the atmosphere was very lively. Even when I'm just on campus, there's usually music playing, and the atmosphere is always lively. Sometimes I even get free stuff.

A simple university with a diverse range of students and different faculties.
Tips: There wasn't a cultural shift for me. However, some things that are native to New Zealand can be a bit of a shift. The university is a little boring, and the country doesn't have many things to do. On the other hand, the people are very friendly, and it's easy to make friends. The lifestyle is very relaxed.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The University of Auckland has a great building and a nice space to work. The faculty members are very diverse. The teaching includes labs, tutorials, and lectures. Most classes have three lectures per week, an hour or two hours long. Commerce labs are one hour long, and science labs are three hours of practical work. Tutorials are one hour long and are held biweekly.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I'm not sure what the job market was like before the recession, but it's difficult to get an internship these days. Retail stores usually hire people if they have working visas, and sometimes companies offer internships that lead to graduate jobs at "Big 4" companies.

Very limited internship and job opportunities.
Tips: The only thing I would recommend is to practice academic writing and be aware of referencing while completing the assignments. I've seen people being penalized for not citing relevant sources. There are many scholarships available at the University of Auckland but you just have to make sure you put your best foot forward.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a lot of Indian restaurants and takeaways available in the city but to cut down on the expenses, I prefer to cook at home. The amount you'll spend on eating out for one time can be enough to cook for 2 days at home. Some restaurants serve food at lower prices for students as they run promotions and offers to attract students.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are a lot of international students coming to New Zealand, so there are more people than jobs. The University does hire students for roles like Students Hub advisor and international students ambassador, but those roles are highly competitive. The part-time jobs available for international students are usually in hospitality, retail, and small businesses around the city and are paid a minimum wage that is sufficient to manage expenses.

The university provides a fun and eventful environment.
Tips: The university does not provide internships or post-study jobs. The students are sent to find work on their own. The university only helps with CV checks and interview trips. There are not a lot of jobs available at this time, so much so that even part-time jobs are hard to find. A lot of students don't pay attention to other students unless they are in a group project with them. Overall, I am satisfied with my university and course but not satisfied with the country.
Likes (Indian Food): There is a large variety of restaurants and convenience stores. They are either cheap or expensive and are near campus. I prefer to cook myself since it is essentially cheaper and I get to eat what I enjoy. Many people choose to spend money on food and it is more expensive near campus because more students will buy from them so they raise prices.

A bit expensive but good experience.
Tips: Scholarships are tough to get, there aren't enough scholarships for international students. There is a cultural shift for sure. UoA is focused on research so there's a lot of self-study involved compared to the Indian education system. Plus New Zealand has strong cultural roots so good to know about it a little beforehand. The university was good, good course but highly-priced.
Likes (Public transportation): Good connection to university via buses and bike. Plus there's plenty of accommodation around the university so it's east to travel. Public transport isn't the cheapest, students get some discount though. It's easier to purchase your own bike or scooter for better travel experience.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Good chances of getting a permanent residence after your Masters if you land a full-time job. The work visa after Master is for 3 years so most students apply for PR in that time frame. I'd like to permanently immigrate because of the work culture. The pay scale can be better.

They create a welcoming environment for seeking help and guidance in studies and academic matters. They have conducted lectures, discussions, hand-on activities, and technology integration.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are different types of restaurants like casual dinners which cost $10 to $20, cafes cost around 5 to 20 dollars, seafood costs around 20 to 40 dollars. If you are vegetarian or vegan then you should pay 15 to 25 dollars at one-time meal. I generally prefer to cook myself.

A supportive place for both academic and professional growth.
Tips: It is not as easy as it sounds. Someday, you'll be so lonely that you’ll want to fly back home, but that process will strengthen you in the long run. Your suffering will depend on what kind of circle you get. I did not apply for any scholarships. It is pretty decent. Everything seems pretty good here.
Likes (Value for money): The quality of the study is excellent. They don't expect us to memorise long content; instead, they focus on ensuring we understand the concept. I am still not sure whether the fees are justified. I’ll find out when my course ends and if I end up in a decent role.
Dislikes (Part time work): For a small country like New Zealand, you need a lot of connections for a part-time job in your field. It doesn’t matter what you know; it matters who you know. So it is difficult to find a part-time role if you don't have any connections in this country, but it's not impossible. Average payout is 23.5NZD. If you work 20 hours a week, that is more than enough to pay for your bills and food.

Tips: New Zealand is a relaxed country with a commendable work-life balance. I received a scholarship from my supervisor, paying me around $1000 weekly. My university experience was very positive. While NZ is expensive and has strict immigration laws, it's interesting how it presents itself as a large country despite its small size.
Likes (Value for money): Doctoral students are considered domestic students and charged domestic tuition fees. However, New Zealand is an expensive country to live in compared to other European countries, such as Germany and the Netherlands. The cost of living is increasing daily.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The immigration laws are comparatively stricter in New Zealand than in other countries. However, I plan to settle here because it's a peaceful and beautiful country, and I love living here as a permanent resident.

Friendly people, fun learning and finding my way.
Tips: The culture here, in comparison to the Indian education system, is pretty laid back. Everyone is respectful and friendly to everyone else. The expectation from students here is fairly basic. Academic integrity and timely-submissions. I did not avail myself of any scholarships. I am very satisfied with my university, course and country. Auckland as a place to live in is absolutely perfect.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty in my department is very approachable and they are passionate about the subjects that they teach. They are genuinely interested in helping the students academically. Most of the teaching that I have experienced here has been interactive. The professor and the class engage in very useful, intense and interesting conversations and discussions with regard to the subjects. The faculty is as diverse as it can be in terms of nationality.
Dislikes (Part time work): Most part-time jobs on campus are already taken, and we need to figure out on our own as to how to look for part-time jobs, where to look, how to apply etc. The jobs outside campus requires retail experience, which most Indians do not have, so it makes it slightly difficult. Academics, specifically LLM, are not very time-consuming, so managing part-time jobs with academics is not really a problem. Most available part-time jobs pay minimum wage only, which honestly is just enough for everything you need and a little bit of leisure as well.

Great university and highly qualified faculty.
Tips: I would recommend coming to the University well prepared. Before joining the university, make sure you have all of your necessities and make an effort to make new friends on campus as soon as you can. You will want to know as many people as possible to be able to ask for help with anything you might not understand. Seniors are particularly helpful in this regard because they have all of the knowledge you will need, and they are willing to teach it to you. Of course, the most important thing to do is to reach out. Asking for help will always be more helpful than trying to figure things out on your own.
Dislikes (Part time work): I really enjoy the way the faculty teaches the subject. They give assignments, which helps students feel like they are on the right track. There are a lot of first-timers or students who are coming from different cities, places, or even countries, and I think it’s difficult to figure out what’s happening. I’m grateful for the faculty being so helpful.

An amazing yet stressful college life.
Tips: Apply for scholarships. There may be scholarships that can help you with the cost of your education. Apply for an allowance. This is money that you can use for your tuition fees and other educational expenses. Create a degree plan before joining the university. This will help you stay on track for graduation. Figure out what kind of job you’ll be applying for and where. There are many job opportunities in Auckland. If you come from a less privileged background, you might want to find some contacts in the area and stay with them while you search for a job and find a place to live.
Likes (Safety): I'm quite pleased with the university's general safety. Like any other city, there can be a little rowdiness during nightlife, but that is normal. In general, I find New Zealand to be a very safe place to live. However, it's important to be careful during public holidays, when there are drunk students and other people out, as they can be dangerous if you are not careful.
Dislikes (Indian Food): As a vegetarian, I don’t have many options on campus. There’s Pita Pit and some burger places, but that’s it. Food in the city is also expensive. Unfortunately, even the limited vegetarian options are not always good, and I sometimes don’t like the taste.
