In order to secure an admission, overseas audience must fulfill the Kyoto University admission requirements for international students listed below:

  • Completion of 12 years’ schooling abroad, or equivalent (including those who are expected to graduate by the end of the year preceding the year of admission) as specified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology;
  • High school or equivalent Diploma recognised by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology such as the International Baccalaureate;
  • Academic transcript for all academic years of university attended;
  • Certificate of graduation or degree certificate of the university attended;
  • Proof of English language proficiency;
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP); and
  • Letters of Recommendation (LOR).
