Update: The Government of Canada announced the end of the Student Direct Stream (SDS program) on 09 November 2024. This fast-track visa program was introduced in 2018 to make Canada student visa process smoother and quicker. The sudden policy change will impact future students planning to study in Canada.

Alberta is one of the most popular Provinces in Canada. There are multiple top-ranked universities located in this province, which offers a fantastic opportunity for Indian students seeking quality higher education in Canada. The University of Alberta is the largest and oldest university in Alberta which offers excellent academics but the University of Alberta acceptance rate is quite competitive. 

Other than universities, students can choose to enrol in the courses offered by SDS colleges in Alberta. SDS colleges in Canada are Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) which take part in the Student Direct Stream program of IRCC. This program allows students from certain countries, including India to get Canada student visa faster.
