The best college of my life.
Placements: For now, I have not seen any campus placements, but I know from seniors that the average package is 33 LPA for the DSAI batch, and the maximum is 96 LPA, where the median is 25 LPA. Top companies include JP Morgan, Samsung, Microsoft, and many more MNCs. Most people are placed.
Infrastructure: Everything is good, but the buildings of hostels are too old for new students, so you have to wait for new hostels. Meanwhile, everything is available, like Wi-Fi with good speed. All sports facilities, including cricket, tennis, football, and many more.
Faculty: It has an advanced syllabus, including AI. Teachers teach every topic in a very exciting way. The syllabus is updated every year. As industry demands grow, our syllabus is also not steady with old topics. Teachers are well-qualified and experts in their domains.

The review of IIT Guwahati BS degree.
Placements: IIT Guwahati's first-ever BS in Data Science & AI batch got 91% placements with offers from big names like Google, Microsoft, and Warner Bros Discovery. Students also went for higher education/studies (e.g., Carnegie Mellon University, United States of America).
Infrastructure: IIT Guwahati's infrastructure is a bit far away from bigger IITs. But still great enough compared to many colleges and universities in India as IITs are the biggest and most prestigious chain of Indian colleges. It has modern classrooms, AC-enabled labs, and other facilities.
Faculty: Faculty, curriculum, and exams are among the best in most of the colleges in India. Many of the professors have PhDs and master's degrees in their respective fields, and the curriculum is up to date according to the generation and needs of companies and brands.

Great experience overall, with supportive teachers and a lively campus.
Placements: Out of around 93 civil students who registered, about two thirds 66% landed a job. Placements are decent but not 100%. The highest package is 65LPA this is an outlier, usually non core. The lowest package is around 6LPA. The average package is around 18 to19LPA. Big tech & non core companies like Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, etc., and core & infra side such as Larsen & Toubro L&T, Tata Projects, Adani Group, Afcons, NBCC, and HPCL/ONGC., visit the campus. Many civil students actually take non core jobs in tech, finance, and consulting, but core recruiters do come. IITG students together got 230 PPOs pre placement offers from internships. Typical internship companies are Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Tata Projects, Schlumberger, Adani, TVS, HPCL, etc.
Infrastructure: In civil engineering, we have all the labs and classrooms we need, with Wi-Fi and a great library to study from. I live in the Siang hostel. The rooms are decent with LAN and Wi-Fi, and the mess food is okay, with the canteen for variety when we get bored. The campus has a 24/7 medical center, so health is not a worry, and sports facilities are really good. Grounds, courts, gym, and even a swimming pool are available. Overall, its a pretty comfortable place to live and study.
Faculty: Most of the professors in civil are really qualified and quite helpful if you reach out, though, like anywhere, some classes feel more engaging than others. The curriculum itself is solid and covers the basics well, but to be honest, if you really want to feel industry ready, you need to back it up with internships or extra skills outside the classroom. Semester exams are usually on the tougher, concept based side, but they are not impossible. If you study regularly, you can manage fine, and almost everyone passes, probably around 90% or more.
Other: I chose Civil Engineering because I want to become an IES officer in the future. The best part of the course is that it gives a good foundation through labs and projects. I feel could be improved is adding more industry oriented training. Campus life is lively with big fests like Alcheringa and Techniche, a friendly crowd, and a beautiful location by the Brahmapur. The hostels, sports facilities, scholarships, and extracurricular activities make student life comfortable and balanced.

IIT Guwahati - A great college .
Placements: Almost 85-90 percent students from my college got into one or more companies. Many big companies like IBM, Google, Amazon visits for the campus placement as it is an IIT. So we got benefit for being an IITian. The average package bagged by students in M.Teach was around 15LPA.
Infrastructure: The building and infrastructure of our college hostel is very great. Also the mess is great we get variety of food through out the week. The hostel is very NEET and clean also there is separate hostel for girls and boys and each hostel have security guards .
Faculty: The professor in our college were highly professional and knowledgeable. They helps a lot not only in our college exams but during the placement season. They possess high practical experience in the field of computer Science and engineering. I am very satisfied with the faculty here.

IIT Guwahati is an awesome college.
Placements: IIT Guwahati campus is very large. Since I am a Ph.D. scholar, the research facilities in this college are very good.  Around 80-85% of students get placed in our course. The highest salary package in our college is 57 LPA, the average salary package is 11 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 6 LPA. Companies like Aditya Birla, Tata, and PhonePe recruit students from our course. Every student gets an internship in the 2nd or 3rd year through hard work.
Infrastructure: Facilities available in our hostel include Wi-Fi, drinking water, light, fans, and beds. Fully air-conditioned classrooms are available in our college. A central library is also available on our campus, and books can be issued by students. The quality of food in the mess is average. There are three canteens on our campus, and the fast food is good. We have a small ground to play different sports like volleyball, football, and cricket.
Faculty: Professors are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. All of them are PhD holders. The course curriculum is relevant to industry needs. Besides, one has to prepare themselves too. Each semester has 2 exams, mid-term and end-term. One needs to have at least 35% in order to pass the course.

Commonly asked questions
On Comparisons
Q:   How do the tuition fees for the MBA programme at IIT Guwahati compared to those at Great Lakes Guwahati?
A:

Upon a comparison of fees for the two-year MBA programme at Sushant University and Great Lakes Guwahati, Sushant University charges a fixed fee of INR 5.5 lakh for the course. In comparison, Great Lakes Guwahati offers a variable fee ranging from INR 3.7 Lacs - INR 11.5 lakh based on the specialisation offered.

NOTE: The mentioned fee is taken from the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to change and, hence, is indicative.

Q:   What makes CAT tougher than other MBA entrance exams?
A:

CAT exam is a national level MBA entrance exam conducted by the IIM. Every year, over 2.3 lakh candidates apply for it. Since the last two years, the competition has increased further with oveer 3 lakh candidates applying for the exam.

The CAT score is accepted by the Iims and all top MBA colleges in India. To select the best candidates from over 3 lakh test takers there is a need for stringent criteria. That's why, the CAT exam is tougher than other MBA entrance exams. Even though the syllabus of CAT is same as that of other MBA entrance exams, the question paper set by the IIM faculty always has tough questions. Moreover, CAT has sectional time limit for each section which is not there in any other exam except XAT. Having a time limit for each section adds pressure on candidates to complete solving adequate number of questions in a section within the time limit. If a student is weak in a particular subject, they can't use the time as per their need. CAT's Reading Comprehension passages are long and dense unlike other MBA exams. This is one more reason why most candidates feel CAT is tougher than any other MBA entrance exam.
