What is JoSAA?

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate joint seat allocation for admissions to over 100 institutes including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admissions to all these institutes will be done through a single platform. The idea behind introducing a single counselling platform was to reduce thousands of seats going vacant in engineering colleges across the country. The Joint seat allocation process was introduced to make the whole process of admissions smoother, effective, efficient, transparent and a lot faster.

Renowned institutes including Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh; Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi; and International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar, also conduct their admission process through JoSAA counselling.

Candidates who qualify for the JEE Main or JEE Advanced must register for JoSAA 2022 to participate in the counselling and admission process for various renowned engineering institutes across India. The admission process for admissions in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 28 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) is managed by The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates will be allotted seats in seven rounds of JoSAA counselling 2022. The seat allotment through JoSAA will be based on the merit of candidates and their preference of courses and colleges.

All JEE Main and JEE Advanced qualified candidates are eligible for admission to various participating institutes. Over 50,000 undergraduate engineering seats (BTech/BE) will be open for eligible candidates. The article will help engineering aspirants to know more information about JoSAA 2022.

NIT+System : Rank change of 5000 to 50000 can be seen for most of the NITs academic programme. There are some top institutes in which CSE, IT or ECE can have very less change. On the other hand lower ranked NITs may show changes up to 2000 ranks. IITSystem No such great change will occur in most of the institutes. You may SEE changes of 300 to 400 in branches like Chemical, Biotech, Geophysics etc. In some IITs. So large changes will occur in 7th round for NITSystem as compared to the previous rounds. I hope this will help.

JoSAA choices has been locked. So you can not go for JoSAA counselling. But you can think of CSAB once it starts after JoSAA in which only AIR is considered for counselling. Since your SC rank is this high then your AIR would have been too high so it's like very tough to get CSE/IT. Hope it helps.

But if your aim is just to get admission in NIT no matter which NIT and which branch, then you msy get admission in it. Like you may get NIT Agartala, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Goa, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Mizoram, but not any branch, some branch like chemical engineering, civil engineering, And if your domicile of state of these NIT, then you will get it, otherwise there is tough to get it.

At this rank you can get admission in many NIT, IIIT, you just have to wait till round 6,7 or even spot round if you want to get a good branch. In top NIT, IIIT you can't get CS with this rank but you can still try your luck in spot round. In NIT which don't come under top 5 you can get admission...At this rank you can get admission in many NIT, IIIT, you just have to wait till round 6,7 or even spot round if you want to get a good branch. In top NIT, IIIT you can't get CS with this rank but you can still try your luck in spot round. In NIT which don't come under top 5 you can get admission in ECE, EEE, civil and many more and if you have a Home State quota then you can surely get admission in 1 of the top 5 NIT. Just refer to the previous year cutoff from the respective NITs website you will get a much better idea about cutoffs.
