If you wish to pursue a diploma course in Canada then you should have all the documents required for admission. An academic transcript, proof of funds and a scorecard of language proficiency exam are necessary documents. Universities and colleges use them to verify your details provided in the application form.

Canada is a famous study destination for Indian students. Universities in Canada offer UG, PG and Diploma courses related to different streams. Unlike UG and PG courses, Diploma courses in Canada are affordable and professionally oriented. Also, the duration of Diploma courses is shorter than that of UG and PG courses. 

Many students from India and other countries apply to enrol in Diploma courses in Canada. Apart from fulfilling the eligibility, submitting the required documents along with the application is mandatory. The document requirement may differ from college to college as the application process/requirements are different for all institutes. 1. A Valid Passport

Ideally, you should have a passport that is valid till about 6 months after your intended course completion date. For instance, if you are applying for a 2-year course, starting in August of 2024, which would end by August 2026, then your passport should be valid at least until February 2027.

2. Academic Transcripts

You would need your marks/results for all classes from Class 9 and upwards. If you are still in class 12, then you would need the results of classes 9, 10 and 11. If you are applying for a PG diploma, you would also need the mark sheets or your bachelor's degrees/diplomas (all-year scores, as well as a cumulative score, would be required).

3. Proof of Funds

This is an important part of your application. You need not provide actual proof that you can cover the expenses during your study in Canada. This proof can be anything such as education loan or scholarship documents or Guaranteed Investment Certificate. GIC amount for Canada is 20,635 (INR 12,71,619 Approx).

4. Language Exams

IELTS or TOEFL are usually not mandatory in Canada for diploma courses, if you have studied English up to standard 12. If your scores are satisfactory, you may get admitted without the additional requirement of appearing for any language exam. However, depending on a case-to-case basis, the college may ask you to provide IELTS or TOEFL scores.

For a PG diploma, you need to have a bachelors degree i.e you need to complete your graduation first.

re apply for your IELTS, as the minimum criteria is overall bands 6 and no less than 6 in each of the individual modules. Also make sure your previous graduation degree aligns with the Diploma you wish to pursue
