Requirements for Studying in the UK after 12th for Indian Students

It is an important point to note here that the total duration of the Graduate Visa in the UK will be reduced to 18 months for students who graduate from a UG or PG course, starting from Jan 01, 2027. So, this means that students who manage to apply for a Graduate Visa before Jan 01, 2027 will still get 2 years on their post-study work permit in the UK.

1.  University Admission Entry Requirements

1. Class 10 and Class 12 board marksheets (CBSE, ICSE, or State Boards) for undergraduate applications. Note that Tier 1 institutions (such as Russell Group universities) generally look for score aggregates between 80% and 95% in Class 12.
2. For postgraduate courses, a recognised Indian Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA/percentage is mandatory.
3. Scores from either of the accepted English language tests, i.e. IELTS Academic, PTE Academic, or TOEFL iBT.
4. A comprehensive and uniquely written SOP
5. Two official references on institutional letterheads

2. UK Student Visa Application Documents 

As soon as the university verifies your documents and if it finds your profile suitable for their course, the university will release an offer, to which you must respond within the given amount of time (the same will be described in the email that arrived with your offer). You have to reply to the university's offer by paying the deposit and replying to the email with a positive response if you wish to accept it.
