You need top Class 12 or A-level grades in Chemistry and Biology, a UCAT score, and an English test score. Apply via the UCAS application by 15 October to UK universities. Only 7.5% of admission seats in England and Wales can go to international students. Do not compare UK pay with Indian salaries on the exchange rate alone. Income tax, National Insurance, NHS pension contributions and UK rent take a large share. Parents funding a ₹3 to ₹6 crore degree should look at the 10 to 15-year earnings path to consultant, not the FY1 figure.

Is MBBS in UK Valid in India?

A UK medical degree is accepted in India only if it meets the NMC (Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate) Regulations, 2021. The main conditions are:

• Course duration of at least 54 months.
• A 12-month internship in the same foreign institution where the degree was obtained.
• Being able to register with the medical regulator of that country (the GMC in the UK).
• Qualifying the NMC's licensing test (FMGE, to be replaced by NExT) and completing the internship required in India.

If you already hold an MBBS from India, you cannot join the Foundation Programme as a UK graduate would. You first need full GMC registration with a licence to practise, then NHS experience, then a speciality training application.
