The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is an entrance exam that students in 11th and 12th standard typically take to evaluate their readiness to provide evidence of academic skills necessary for college entrance abroad. Students from India must take the SAT to apply for undergraduate college and universities in Canada, USA, UK, Italy and others. This provides colleges with a means to assess students' academic skills against those of students applying to similar programs, competing for the same college admission.
The SAT, as an exam, is typically administered in an online format and consists of multiple-choice questions. It is taken on the Bluebook App and can be taken on a computer, laptop or iPad in India. The SAT has two sections: Reading + Writing and Math. Each section has a score of 800 which gives a maximum score of 1600. Many colleges and universities require or highly recommend students to submit SAT scores with their admissions application

Studying abroad includes high tuition fees along with high living expenses. This in turn hampers international student applications. However, students can avail various scholarships and education loans to study abroad. The College Board, in association with a few Indian universities, has started SAT scholarships for Indian students.
Apart from this, scholarships are available on the official website of every college, along with other fellowships and grants awarded to deserving students regularly. For instance, Colorado State University - GPA & SAT Scholarships are offered around USD 10,000, which is a one-time payment over four years of bachelor's, if applicants have scored 1200+ on SAT and have a GPA of 3.3 or above in high school. There may be other schools which would offer SAT score-based scholarships.
Students can also opt for education loans from financial institutions for studying abroad. Check out: Merit Scholarships for SAT and ACT High Scorers.
