To send your TOEFL scores, you can do it either before or after taking the test. If you choose to send them before the test, you need to create an account on the ETS (Educational Testing Service) website and select up to four colleges to receive your scores for free. After taking the test, you can log in again to send additional scores, but this will cost you USD 25 for each extra college.

When it comes to timing, TOEFL scores are usually sent electronically within 4 to 12 days after your test date, depending on the method you choose. This means that if you plan ahead and send your scores early, colleges will receive them in time for your application deadlines. Candidates have the option to edit (add or delete) score report recipients through their ETS account until 10 p.m. (local test centre time) on the day before their TOEFL test. If you make selections after 10 PM, then you will have to pay USD 20 for each additional score report. 

When are TOEFL scores available? 

The official TOEFL iBT scores will be made available to you approximately six days from the test date and test-takers who opt for the Special Home Edition of the TOEFL test would receive their results in 4-8 days from the date of their TOEFL at Home test. If the candidate has requested a paper copy of their score report before appearing for the test, it would be mailed within 11 days after the test date. Delivery times will be subject to local postal services.

When Will My TOEFL Scores Be Sent?

TOEFL Score Validity 

Your TOEFL score validity is for two years after the declaration of your result. If you are not satisfied with the scores on your first attempt, you can try again as there is no limitation on the number of retakes. However, there must be at least a three-day gap between your retakes; i.e if you have a test appointment for today, you cannot register for another appointment for the next three days. 

How to send TOEFL Scores to Universities abroad?

As informed to our readers earlier, candidates who register for the TOEFL exam will have the opportunity to select up to four universities that would directly receive their TOEFL scores once available with ETS - the conducting body of the TOEFL exam. There is no additional charge for this facility as this is covered under the TOEFL registration fee. Steps to Send Your TOEFL Scores

1. Create or Log into Your ETS Account: Visit the official ETS (Educational Testing Service) website and log into your TOEFL iBT account. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one.

2. Select "Order Score Reports": On your account homepage, find and click on the option labeled "Order Score Reports." This section allows you to manage where your scores will be sent.

3. Choose Your Test Date: Select the test date for which you want to send scores. This is important because each test has its own set of scores.

4. Search for Colleges: Use the search feature to find and select the colleges or universities where you want your scores sent. You can add multiple institutions at this stage.

5. Review and Confirm: After selecting the institutions, review your choices carefully. Make sure all information is correct before proceeding.

6. Payment for Additional Reports (if applicable): If you are sending additional reports beyond the four free ones, provide payment details to cover the fee.

• Before Test Day: You can add or remove institutions until 10 PM (local test center time) on the day before your test.
• After Test Day: Scores are typically sent out around 4-12 days after your test date. However, universities in the U.S. usually receive them within 20-22 days, while those outside may take up to 4-6 weeks.
