GMAT Pattern

The GMAT exam pattern for the GMAT Focus Edition significantly differs from the old or 10th edition of the GMAT. In 2023, GMAC released the GMAT Focus Edition. The then existing GMAT test was accessible until January 31, 2024, and the GMAT Focus Edition was tested from February 1, 2024. A change in the exam format will result in a change in the GMAT syllabus. The GMAT Focus Edition syllabus differs greatly from the standard GMAT syllabus since a new GMAT subject, Data Insights, has been included. At the same time, several GMAT topics have been eliminated.

GMAT Focus Edition Exam Format (Latest)

The GMAT Focus Edition's syllabus is distinct from the GMAT's current syllabus. SC (Sentence Correction) and AWA (Analytical Writing Assessment) have been eliminated. Additionally, a brand-new section called Data Insights (DI), based on IR (Integrated Reasoning), has been introduced and will also include DS (Data Sufficiency). The syllabus for the GMAT Focus Edition is provided in the table below:

Q:   Is GMAT exam syllabus vast?
A:

Yes, GMAT exam syllabus is quite vast and despite some topic slashes like sentence correction, geometry and AWA (essay), the syllabus still has lots of topics. The Quant section has the maximum topics and is one of the biggest sections. Followed by Verbal Reasoning section where reading and critical analysis is tested. Finally, the latest Data Insights section is the next the biggest section with graph interpretation, data interpretation and tables along with other topics. Thus, GMAT includes a wide range of topics to test its applicants for admissions.
