SPP Colleges in British Columbia (BC) with Cities
The Student Partner Program (SPP) was a program started by the government of Canada to streamline the student visa process. Later, this process was replaced by the Student Direct Stream in the year 2018. Some well-known former SPP colleges in British Columbia include Douglas College, Langara College, Vancouver Community College, and Camosun College.
Update: The Government of Canada announced the end of the Student Direct Stream (SDS program) on 09 November 2024. This fast-track visa program was introduced in 2018 to make Canada student visa process smoother and quicker. The sudden policy change will impact future students planning to study in Canada.
Note: The Student Partners Program (SPP) has been recently replaced by the Student Direct Stream (SDS) program in India.

Overall, BC is a very diverse province with at least 30% of the population being immigrants. Employment opportunities in BC are expected to grow by 1.8% each year, which would create around 450,000 new jobs. In October 2022, the unemployment rate in British Columbia stood at 4.2% and the labour force participation rate stood at 64.9%. This means improved chances of getting job placements after finishing college. Major economic sectors in British Columbia include agriculture, clean technology, construction, film and television, fisheries & aquaculture, forestry, manufacturing, etc. Since most of the courses offered at SPP colleges are skill-oriented, it makes a lot easier to apply for PR ultimately as Canadian authorities prefer taking in ‘highly-skilled’ professionals as citizens.
