TOEFL Registration Fee 2026

The TOEFL exam fee in India for 2026 is INR 17,999.72. This is the standard fee for both the TOEFL iBT test taken at a test center and the TOEFL Home Edition taken from your home. You must pay this fee at the time of registering for the exam on the official ETS website. If you choose to take the TOEFL Essentials Test, which is a shorter version of the TOEFL exam, the fee is around INR 10,000 (this may change depending on the dollar exchange rate).

TOEFL Late Registration Fee

Candidates should remember that TOEFL online registrations close seven days before the exam, and late registration closes four days before the test date with a TOEFL late fee of INR 3,900. 

TOEFL Rescheduling Fee

If you want to reschedule your TOEFL iBT test, you need to do it at least four days before test date or else your TOEFL exam fee will be lost. You have to pay INR 5,900 as TOEFL rescheduling fee. You cannot reschedule by mail, email, or at test centre. You can login to your ETS account online to reschedule any upcoming tests.

TOEFL Cancellation Fees (TOEFL Refund Policy)

Candidates who wish to cancel their TOEFL Test must do so no later than four days before their test date to be eligible to receive a refund equivalent to half of the TOEFL exam fee. Candidates should note that there are no cash refunds and the refund amount would be in US Dollars and be credited back to the original credit/debit card or bank account via which the payment was made.

TOEFL Exam Fee: Refunds

• Test-takers are eligible for a refund if they cancel their registration by the deadline of 4 (four) days before their Test (“4-Day Deadline”). For example, if your Test is on Saturday, you must cancel by Tuesday;
• For cancellations before the said 4-day Deadline, you would be eligible to receive a refund of 50% (Fifty Percent) of the test fee paid by you. The remainder of the test fee will be retained to cover expenses for processing your registration and holding space at the test centre.
• Refunds are limited to Tests and are not processed for other products or services, such as test preparation materials, additional services, international test site fees or service fees.

TOEFL Score Sending Fee

At the time of your TOEFL registration, the TOEFL test fees also include the candidate’s TOEFL scores being sent to four universities/institutions. Candidates who wish to send their TOEFL results to additional universities than the pre-designated four can do so by paying an extra TOEFL fee for sending additional scores. The TOEFL score reporting fee per recipient is $20.00. The TOEFL score sending fee in Indian rupees is approximately INR 1639.71 (US $1 = INR 81.99)

TOEFL Fees in India: Payment Methods

As per ETS, the conducting body of the TOEFL exam, the following methods of payment are acceptable for TOEFL Exam Fee.

• Visa, MasterCard, and Maestro credit and debit cards
• Rupay credit and debit cards
• UPI and QR payments
• Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) for Visa and MasterCard cards issued outside India will also be supported.
