History
University of Toronto was founded by royal charter in 1827 as King’s College as the first institution of higher learning in Upper Canada. It was originally controlled by the Church of England, the university had assumed its present name in 1850 after becoming a secular institution. University of Toronto was granted a royal charter status on March 15, 1827 by the King George IV for the education of youth and for instruction of different branches of Science and Literature that is to be called King’s College. Toronto University application fee for graduate courses is CAD 130 (INR 8.6 K) (Exceptions applicable). This is a non-refundable and non-transferable fee.
