A Philosophy Professor, David Kolb developed a new model of learning styles and new learning theory in 1984. His theory can be broken down into two parts: A cycle of learning which comprises four distinct stages and four distinct learning styles. Concrete Experience, Reflective Observation, Abstract Conceptualization and Active Experimentation are four stages of learning.
