Nevertheless, the majority of the courses require an entrance examination and an interview. At NSHM Kolkata, there is no provision of direct admission without examination.

These courses do not demand ENPAT, but examine the student on basis of his/her performance in class 12. Short listing of candidates is made based on merit in the final qualifying exam. After selection, the students are required to pay the fees to verify their admissions.
