FAQs related to Distance BE/Btech Programme

Q. Is it compulsory to attend classes under distance education mode?

A. Students, in their own interest, are advised to attend the classes. However, attendance is not mandatory.

Q. I have completed a Diploma Course in the engineering stream after completing 12. Can I enroll for the distance BE/BTech programme?

A. Yes, the eligibility for enrolling in the distance BE/BTech programme is to pass class 12. A diploma in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.

Q. How much time in a day/week should I spend to study to complete the distance BE/BTech programme?

A. To complete the program within the stipulated time-frame, candidates should put in around 2-3 hours a day as study time regularly and about 4-6 hours on weekends.

Q. Are there any negative marks in the examinations?

A. No, there are no negative marks in the examinations.

Q. Do companies discriminate between regular BTech candidates and those who pursued a distance course?

A. Employers do not discriminate against any candidates until and unless their degree is approved by the regulatory authorities like AICTE and UGC.

Q. Is there a convocation at the end of the course?

A.The universities conduct their convocation once in a year. It depends on the university/institute that how many numbers of distance education students are invited/selected for it.
