Master of Public Health (MPH) is a degree course that aims on training the aspirants in the science and art of protecting and improving public health by the means of spreading community awareness. The jolt of the pandemic from 2020 has shaken the world from its roots. MPH caters to areas such as health promotion, health economics and policy, public health management, epidemiology and biostatistics, demography, and social sciences among other important topics related to the promotion of public health in general.

Masters of Public Health (MPH) Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to pursue Master in Public Health programme in India is:

1. Candidate should have completed graduation in either of the following programmes such as Medicine, AYUSH, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Veterinary Sciences, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, or Allied and Health Sciences.

2. Graduation in courses such as Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Management, Engineering, Demography, Population Studies, Nutrition, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Social Work, Economics, Law or any equivalent qualifications is also considered valid for admission to MPH programme.

3. Candidate should have passed graduation with at least 60% marks.

Masters in Public Health Admission Process 2022

In order to seek admission to MPH programme, candidates will have to follow the admission process mentioned below. Most of the institutes offering MPH generally follow the given route to select candidates:

1. Visit the website and register by creating a unique Login ID and password on the admission portal.

2. Fill in the necessary details required for the purpose of admission such as personal details; academic qualifications; work experience if any.

3. Upload the required documents mentioned by the institute on the admission portal.

4. Pay the application fees either through online or offline mode as mentioned in the admission prospectus.

5. Appear for the entrance exam in case the institute offers admission on the basis of an aptitude test.

6. After the announcement of the result, appear for the personal interview or any other selection rounds as decided by the admission committee of the institute offering the MPH programme.

7. Final merit list is released by every college, post which candidates need to participate in the counselling and later pay a fee to confirm the allotted seat.

2. Only regular government employees with at least one year of service experience can be admitted under the "in-service" category for five seats. The rest of the seats are open to general candidates, and two seats are available for NRI applicants.
3. The applicant needs to have a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks from a recognised university.
4. The admission will be done on the basis of merit. This merit will be based on a score in the O-CET Entrance Test plus the total aggregate of marks obtained at the graduation level.
5. Finally, a merit list of shortlisted candidates will be published on the same notice page.
6. The in-service candidates have to produce a "No Objection Certificate" at the time of admission along with other documents.
