What is RF & Microwave Engineering?
RF (Radio Frequency) & Microwave Engineering is a subset of electrical engineering. These specialists design, construct and operate devices that transmit or receive radio waves. These devices include radios, wireless equipment, mobile phones etc.
An RF (Radio Frequency) & Microwave Engineering programme is most suitable for individuals wanting to develop their expertise and grow in the field of  RF, microwave, millimetre wave engineering.
RF & Microwave Engineering Eligibility and Entrance ExamsÂ
A background in general electronics, physics and mathematics is a must to pursue a postgraduate degree in RF & Microwave Engineering. Besides this, candidates must also have completed their BE/ BTech or equivalent degree in relevant disciplines (preferable in electrical engineering), with aggregate marks of at least 60%.
RF & Microwave Engineering Exams
Since RF & Microwave Engineering is a part of electrical engineering, there are no particular exams for it at the undergraduate level. However, at the postgraduate level, GATE is one of the most popular exams for admissions to colleges offering MTech inRF & Microwave Engineering.
RF & Microwave Engineering Courses
In India, a course in RF & Microwave Engineering is offered only at the postgraduate level. Most of the colleges offer an MTech in this field. None of the colleges in India offers a BTech in RF & Microwave Engineering.
