Business Analytics as a process can be understood as combining data analytics and business intelligence on a given set of data to make future business strategies and plans. It is taught as a specialisation in Master of Business Management (MBA).
This branch of management involves the exploration and analysis of present data to gain insight for the planning and execution of future business strategies and goals. There are four types of business analytics - Descriptive Analytics, Diagnostic Analytics, Predictive Analytics, and Prescriptive Analytics. These help in optimising operations, increasing revenue by saving on operational costs, improve better customer relations, and predicting future trends in the market thereby enabling accurate strategic decisions and business plans.
MBA in Business Analytics offers training and knowledge to develop skills for making business plans and strategies of the future based on accurate analysis of the available data. The average salary of a Business Analyst is INR 8 lakh and upwards.
Business Analytics Eligibility Criteria
Any Business Analytics aspirant must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to pursue the programme:
