- MPT (Masters in Physiotherapy) includes one specialized subject and detailed analysis about the same with research published articles and internships of at least six months.
- Doctorate degrees are mandatory for applying for the post of a lecturer.s.
Eligibility Criteria for MPT courses
The essential eligibility criteria for Masters in Physiotherapy in India.
- Completed 10+2 with Biology stream, with a desire to solve physical problems of humans and have an excellent knowledge of Physiotherapy and relative subjects.
- Candidate must be qualified for a bachelor’s degree from the recognized universities having a 50% more aggregate score in it and six months of internship experience in the same field.
A candidate can apply under the various categories General/ OBC/ SC/ ST; NRI students have the same opportunity with NRI categories in the Foreign/NRI category.
A student may apply for the same masters course before an internship. However, admission is guaranteed only after completion of an internship. One has to be a graduate from reputed colleges or universities affiliated with the Indian Physiotherapy Association for better enhancement and salary package.
Most Universities/Colleges conduct an entrance examination for admission One can appear for various examinations as follows:
- NEET PG (National Eligibility Entrance Exam for Post-Graduation): An examination is conducted annually for students who want to study medicine anywhere across India. Students have to clear the cutoff for getting admission in recognized colleges.
- All India Post Graduate Physiotherapy Entrance Test conducted for aspiring students for Masters in Physiotherapy.
- CET: IPU CET, students who are interested in the MPT course, can apply for Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University entrance exams.
- JIPMER: Jawaharlal Nehru research institute allows MPT aspirants to do postgraduate courses in India.

Some entrance examinations are written below: (a) NEET PG It is a national level entrance exam conducted to provide admission to PG courses in the medical field. Based on the scores in this entrance exam, the colleges offer admission seats to the MPT course. (b) IPU CET IPU CET is an entrance exam conducted at the university level for admission to all PG and UG courses of the university. Students can get admission to the course either through the marks obtained in BPT (graduation) or qualifying in the entrance exams. But, before all that, aspirants would have to fulfil basic eligibility criteria set by the institutes.
