The duration of the Dental courses varies from course to course and also according to the levels. BDS, which is a full-time UG-level course is of four-year duration. MDS or the Master of Dental Surgery, which is a postgraduate course, is of two to three years duration. The Dental Diploma level courses are for two years, whereas the duration of Dental Certificate courses is six months to one year.

- For undergraduate Dental Diploma courses, candidates should pass Class 12 with a minimum 50 percent aggregate
- They must have studied Science stream, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biochemistry as core subjects in Class 11 and Class 12
- Postgraduate dental diploma should have completed BDS or undergraduate Dental Diploma course and completed a compulsory rotatory internship by the time of admission
