XAT cut offs 2024 for XLRI's PGDM Business Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM) programmes will be declared in February 2024. Those who shall meet the XAT 2024 cut offs, will be selected for admission rounds on the basis of the same. The selection round will include Personal Interview (PI) round which will be held in the month of March. The XAT cut offs usually range between 95-97 percentile. For female candidates, the cut offs for XAT are lower by 1-2 percentiles.

Registration process for XAT 2024 is underway and the exam will be held on January 7, 2024. The XAT 2024 registration last date is November 30, 2023. Read below to know XAT cut offs for XLRI - 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015 along with other details.

Q:   How is the XAT percentile calculated?

A:
The XAT percentile is calculated based on the performance of a candidate relative to all other test-takers who appear for the XAT exam in a particular year. The percentile is a measure of the percentage of test-takers who have scored less than the candidate in the exam. The formula used to calculate the XAT percentile is as follows: Percentile = [ (Number of candidates who scored less than the candidate / Total number of candidates who appeared for the exam) x 100] For example, if a candidate scores 80 marks out of 100 in the XAT exam and 20,000 candidates appear for the exam, and out of those 20,000 candidates, 18,000 candidates score less than the candidate, then the percentile for the candidate would be calculated as follows: Percentile = [ (18,000/20,000) x 100] = 90 Therefore, the XAT percentile for the candidate would be 90. It is important to note that the XAT percentile may vary from year to year depending on the performance of all test-takers in the exam. Additionally, each participating institute may have its own cutoff percentile based on which candidates are shortlisted for the next stage of the admission process.

Q:   What is the XAT 2023 cut off?

A:

XAT cut off is released category wise. The cut off percentile for female candidates and male candidates are different. The cut offs for engineering and non engineering candidates are different and XAT cut offs for PGDM BM and PGDM HRM are different.

The XAT 2023 cut offs for PGDM HRM program, for male engineering candidates was 93 percentile while that for female engineering students, it was 91 percentile. XAT cut off 2023 for male applicants from a non-engineering background was 90 percentile and for women candidates from a non-engineering background is 88 percentile. For the PGDM BM program, the XAT 2023 cut off for male engineering candidates was 95 percentile and for female engineering students it was 92 percentile. Male applicants from a non-engineering background required a 95 percentile and women from a non-engineering background required 92 percentile. The sectional cut off percentiles are also different for different categories and courses. You can check the official XAT 2023 cut offs in detail here: https://www.shiksha.com/mba/xat-exam-cutoff

Q:   How important is XAT cut off for selection to XLRI's PI round?

A:

XAT cut off is the most important factor in selection of candidates for XLRI Jamshedpur’s Personal Interview or PI round. Those who do not meet the cut off are not even taken into consideration for PI shortlisting. The two main parameters upon which candidates are short listed for the PI round are academic scores (class 10,12 and graduation) and XAT cut off.

Aspirants must note that they need to score as much or above the XAT cut off and should have a consistent academic record of high score to have greater chances of getting selected. It is not necessary that they will be called for the PI round if their XAT score matches the cut off. If any candidate with the same score has a better academic record, he/she will be selected over the other.

Q:   What is sectional cut off for XAT?

A:

Sectional cut off for XAT refers to the minimum percentile fixed for each section of the exam that candidates have to meet. For example, if the Quantitative Aptitude cut off is 85 percentile for XAT, that means a candidate must have scored 85 percentile or more in the section of XAT to be eligible for group discussion and personal interview shortlisting. Check the below tables for PGDM BM and PGDM HRM for XAT 2023.

Q:   What is the cutoff score required for BIMTECH, Noida?

A:
The Birla Institute of Management and Technology (BIMTECH) fills up its seats on merit. With its two campuses in Greater Noida and Bengaluru, BIMTECH has been providing management education to young graduates to help them MEET the corporate challenges. Its location offers a strong advantage in terms of industrial linkages and exposure for its students. Admission is granted to those applicants who fulfill all the admission requirements. The BIMTECH cutoff figures are not fixed, but all the shortlisted applicants are evaluated through GD/PI, academics, CAT/ MAT/ GMAT score and extra -curricular activities. The candidates performance in PI, GD, Write-up, CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT percentile, marks in graduation, 10+2/Higher Secondary Marks, Matric - all these things count towards final admission in BIMTECH. Suitable weightages for Work Experience, Academic and regional background, professional qualifications etc. Are also given at the time of assessing suitability for admission. The cutoff figures though an important primary filter, is not the end of the story as a candidate has to perform well in the second round of interview, writing and group discussion. The expected figures is likely to remain the same this time as it was last year, though there could be some minor changes. CUT-OFFs - 75+ Test/s - CAT/XAT/SNAP/CMAT/GMAT/MAT/ATMA.

Q:   How will I know if I have converted the XLRI interview call or not?

A:

Every candidate is informed by XLRI Jamshedpur about their selection via email. The interview round is held in February-March and the offer letter are sent to selected candidates in April-May. Those who would not receive the confirmation letter, may consider that they are not selected for admission. Candidates must keep a check on their emails. They must keep checking spam folders too. It is also very important use the correct and fully functional email ID for XAT registration as that is the main contact point for communication from the institute.

The admission authorities will consider both sectional and overall XAT score while shortlisting candidates for group discussion and personal interview round of XLRI admission. Candidates must perform well in all the sections of XAT exam as well as in the for group discussion and personal interview to be selected for admission.

Q:   Are XAT cut offs same for all participating colleges?

A:

No, cut offs of XAT participating colleges are different from each other. These colleges fix cut off percentiles for admission individually basis certain criteria determined by their respective admission cells. XAT cut off for XIMB is different from XAT cut off for TAPMI. XAT cut off for XIMB is usually around 90-93 whereas XAT cut off for TAPMI is 80-85. On the other hand, XAT cut off for KJ Somaiya-Mumbai is 85-90. Most of the MBA colleges shortlist candidates for admission on the basis of overall XAT percentile. However, the candidates must aim to meet sectional XAT cut offs too in the exam to avoid an unwanted situation at the time of admission. Before applying for admission, candidates must check the selection criteria of their target colleges to be sure of requirements.

Q:   Can I join Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai without XAT?

A:

Saveetha Engineering college is one of the best technical colleges which has a NIRF Ranking of 64 .Yes, you can join Saveetha Engineering college without XAT, it depends on different Quota from which you will enter the college like management Quota etc. but the fees structure will be different for those people from the people entering the college from XAT. So it will be good if you get a seat from XAT. The placement in this college is amazing with about 200+ companies visiting the campus every year.

Q:   My graduation score is less than 50% in aggregate. Am I eligible for XLRI admission?

A:

Yes, candidates with less than 50 per cent in aggregate in graduation are eligible for admission to PGDM courses in XLRI. Candidates need to have minimum passing marks in Graduation. They must have however, completed their graduation from a recognised university only. Candidates planning to seek admission to an MBA college other than XLRI must check its eligibility criteria as the minimum score requirement of AICTE approved colleges is 50 percent (45 percent for Reserved categories). But having 50 per cent and above score is not a guarantee for getting selected for admission. You will need to clear the admission round which is based on XAT cut off percentile. If you do not meet the XAT cut off percentile you will not be selected for XAT personal interview round, which is the main parameter for MBA admission in XLRI.

XAT 2023 Cut Offs: XLRI Shortlist and Selection Process

XLRI Jamshedpur admission committee selects candidates for admission to its PGDM programmes on the basis of XAT score, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). For this purpose, the institute fixes category-wise minimum cut off for HRM and BM programmes. Candidates who meet the XAT cut off for XLRI, are required to fill an online application form on the institute website. The institute then shortlists the applicants for GD/PI round.

This GD/PI round is conducted in February at Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Jamshedpur. Since 2020, the GD/PI round is being conducted online due to COVID-19 pandemic. After this rigorous personality assessment round, candidates are shortlisted for offer of admission. The admission offers are sent to selected candidates in May via email.
