The XAT percentile is calculated based on the performance of a candidate relative to all other test-takers who appear for the XAT exam in a particular year. The percentile is a measure of the percentage of test-takers who have scored less than the candidate in the exam. XAT cut off is the most important factor in selection of candidates for XLRI Jamshedpur’s Personal Interview or PI round. Those who do not meet the cut off are not even taken into consideration for PI shortlisting. The two main parameters upon which candidates are short listed for the PI round are academic scores (class 10,12 and graduation) and XAT cut off.

XAT Cut Offs: XLRI Shortlist and Selection Process

XLRI Jamshedpur MBA admission is based on certain parameters that an aspirant has to meet. The admission committee selects candidates for admission to its MBA/PGDM programmes on the basis of XAT score and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates who meet the XAT cut off for XLRI, are required to fill an online form at the institute website. The institute then shortlists the applicants for PI round. The XLRI shortlisting criteria includes academic scores such as Class 10/Class12 and Graduation marks.

The XLRI PI round is conducted in February and March at Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Jamshedpur. After this rigorous personality assessment round, candidates are shortlisted for admission. The offer of admission is sent to candidates by the end of May. In the final phase of selection, candidate's academic and work profile are also taken into consideration. The process of XLRI admission begins with XAT registration. XAT 2025 registration has started and candidates can apply till November 30, 2024.

Other XAT accepting colleges too follow the same selection process, i.e. Personal Interview. Many colleges conduct Writing Ability Test or Group Discussion as well.
