What is M.Sc. in Humanities & Social Sciences?
A Master of Science (MSc) is a postgraduate degree which is pursued after students successfully completing their BSc in any specific discipline. However, in order to pursue an MSc in Humanities and Social Sciences, students generally take this up if they have knowledge about the two streams – Science and Humanities and Social Sciences. This type of programme is taught in Liberal Arts courses. Liberal Arts allows students to take up more than one course, or pursue a discipline of a different field.
A classic case of combining two disciplines together is Psychology. Psychology can be taught as a Humanities subject and also a Science subject. Psychology is a vast field which has various sub-branches and sub-fields and applying Science in Psychology, people can learn about Biological Psychology, Applied Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Forensic Psychology. Here is where Science subjects are applied. Liberal Arts merge two different subjects together where students can explore the subject from different perspectives, hon their skills and have knowledge about multiple subjects.
An MSC degree can also be pursued in Economics, where students apply science to learn about mathematical cases, theories and research work in finance, accounts and other fields. Geography is also a part of the Humanities and Social Sciences subject and a Science subject.
