Film & TV

Ritika SrivastavaAssociate Senior Executive, Editorial
Film and television are one of the most important mediums of entertainment. To produce a film or television program, audio and video are combined in such a way that they turn into an understandable and entertaining scene. Talking about history, people enjoyed watching TV programs for the first time in the 1950s. Then gradually the TV changed from black and white to color and by the 20th century, TV became the need of every household.
At the same time, films started in the 19th century and gradually with the development of technology, there were many changes in the way of filming this art. People became so obsessed with movies and TV shows that they were glued to the television screen and hence TV was also called as 'couch potato' and 'idiot box'.
Several departments work together to produce film and television programs. Therefore, to make a career in this field, you need to specialize in one or several departments. These departments include sound recording, script-writing, production, set designing, direction, audio-visual effects, video editor, editing, cinematography, production, choreography, action direction etc. Many renowned universities/colleges/institutes offer admission in courses related to film and television. Some full-time courses include subjects related to film and TV as a part, while others focus entirely on separate departments of film and TV.
