Q: Is it mandatory to study Mathematics at a higher secondary level to pursue Medicine?

A: No, it is not mandatory to study Mathematics in Class 11 and Class 12 to be eligible for studying Medicine course. However, it won’t act as a hindrance in case students study Mathematics as an additional subject along with Biology being a core subject.

Q: What are the entrance exams for the Medicine course admission?

Q: Is there any age limit for studying Medicine courses?

A: The minimum age limit for studying undergraduate Medicine courses is 17 years as of the year of taking admission. However, there is no minimum age limit for studying postgraduate Medicine courses.

Q: Can I pursue a Medicine course without taking NEET UG?

A: For the top Medicine courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, etc. it is mandatory to take NEET. However, there are a few other allied Medicine courses such as Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, wherein NEET is not mandatory.

Q. What are my options following my 12th medical?

A. In addition to MBBS and BDS, which are the most popular choices for students, there are additional medical specialities that candidates can follow after completing their 12th-grade education, including nursing, paramedicine, physiotherapy, veterinary medicine, and AYUSH.

Q. Can I do medicine without NEET?

A. A passing score on the NEET UG admission test is required for a doctoral degree in MBBS, BDS, or AYUSH programmes. Although you cannot obtain a degree directly without passing the NEET, you can pursue any bachelor's degree and then a PHD to earn a doctorate.

Q. Is the NEET test difficult?

A. There is no doubt that the NEET exam is rigorous and challenging. We are referring to the nation's single-level medical admission examination, which attracts thousands of applicants but only offers a small number of desirable college seats.

Q. What is superior to MBBS?

A. The second most common medical course option, after MBBS, is BDS. You will be referred to as a registered and licenced doctor if you have successfully completed the BDS programme. You can choose from any AYUSH (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) course in addition to the BDS programme. Practitioners of AYUSH are licenced medical professionals.

Q. What occurs if we don't pass the NEET?

A. You might not be able to apply for MBBS, BDS, or AYUSH programmes if you fail and are not eligible for the NEET exam. You can choose to study Allied Health Sciences such as BPT (physiotherapy), BOT (occupational therapy), etc., or you can choose to major in B.Sc. Nursing. Another option is a B.Sc.
