Sculpture is a fine arts course and a branch of visual arts. Sculpture can be defined as the art of moulding, carving, welding and modelling in different materials like clay, metal, wood, stone etc. Sculpture is often related to monumental sculpture, which is either large sculpture or related to a building. It is also defined as the form of public art. In the modern era, sculpture includes a number of non-traditional types of sculpture. These non-trational forms of sculpture includes environmental sculpture, kinetic sculpture, light sculpture, street art sculture, sound sculpture, environmental art and many more. The person involved in creating this art forms are called as the Sculptors. They are the fine artists, who is responsible for making 3-dimensional art pieces using different materials like metal, clay, wood etc. A person with a Sculpture degree can work both privately or in a museums, galleries etc.
Eligibility Criteria to pursue Sculpture Course
In order to make a career in the field of Sculpture art, candidates need to get a degree in Sculture. Ahead of applying for the course, candidates should be aware about the eligibility criteria needed to pursue the course.
UG Courses: To pursue, BFA in Sculpture or any other undergraduate course in Sculpture, candidates should have passed class 12th or a equivalent course from a recognised board with a minimum passing marks.
However, admission to many colleges and institutes are done on the basis of entrance exams.
PG Courses: To get admission in postgraduation course in Sculpture, candidates are required to have a graduation degree or an equivalent degree with a minimum passing marks of 50%.
