Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will not conduct the entrance examination for BTech admissions from this year. All BTech admissions will now be done on the basis of JEE Main scores. The authorities will prepare the merit list for admissions according to the secured JEE Main scores. Registrations for UPSEE 2021 counselling will commence tentatively from June. During the counselling process, the candidates will have to select their preferred course and college. Seat allotment will be done on the basis of secured JEE Main score and submitted preferences by the candidates.
What is UPSEE 2021?
UPSEE is a gateway for candidates seeking admission to various professional courses offered at undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level at all the UPSEE colleges. Through UPSEE, candidates can secure admission in about 841 institutions/colleges affiliated to AKTU along with other universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Around 93 colleges in Ghaziabad and 75 colleges in Gautam Budh Nagar are affiliated to AKTU.

UPSEE 2021 Eligibility Criteria
For admission to the first year of BTech programmes:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should clear Class 12 from UP board or any other recognized board/ university with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST candidates) in aggregate in the required three subjects.
- Subject Combination: The combination of three subjects that candidates should have in Class 12 in order to be eligible for UPSEE admissions are:

- Age criteria: There is no age limit for UPSEE 2021 admissions.
- JEE Main: Candidates should have secured a valid score in JEE Main 2021.
UPSEE Eligibility 2021 for admission to the first year of BTech Agriculture programme
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should clear Class 12 in agriculture discipline from UP board or any other recognized board/ university with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% marks for SC/ ST candidates) in total.
- Age criteria: There is no age limit for UPSEE 2021 exam.
UPSEE Eligibility 2021 for admission to second year (lateral entry) of BTech programmes (Any branch)
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should complete a three-year engineering diploma recognized by an institution located in UP or Board of Technical Education, UP in any branch of engineering (except Agriculture Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture).
- Minimum qualifying marks: Candidates should score minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ ST candidates) aggregate marks in their qualifying exam.
- Age criteria: There is no age limit for UPSEE 2021.
UPSEE Eligibility 2021 for admission to second year (lateral entry) of BTech Agriculture
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should complete a three-year Agriculture engineering diploma recognized by an institution located in UP or Board of Technical Education, UP.
- Minimum qualifying marks: Candidates should score minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ ST candidates) aggregate marks in their qualifying exam.
- Age criteria: There is no age limit for UPSEE 2021.
Notes (Applicable for all BTech Lateral Entry Courses)
- Candidates who have cleared BSc and Class 12 with Mathematics as one of the subjects are eligible to apply for any lateral entry BTech course. However, the official website informs, “These candidates shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with the candidates belonging to the Diploma stream.”
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam in a state other than Uttar Pradesh and whose parents are not domicile of UP State are not eligible to apply for BTech lateral entry course.
- Admissions to BTech lateral entry courses are open only in the institutions affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow.
UPSEE 2021 Reservation Criteria
Through UPSEE 2021, AKTU offers two types of reservations to candidates: vertical and horizontal. Candidates can check reservation of seats under both types below:

Note: The official website informs, “Candidates can be given only one type of horizontal reservation out of UPFF/ UPAF/ UPHC. However, the female candidates can also claim for any one of UPFF/ UPAF/ UPHC along with UPGL.”
UPSEE 2021 Application Form
To participate in the counselling session, the candidates will be required to fill the application form of UPSEE 2021. Registrations will be open at the official website tentatively in June. No other mode of application will be accepted by the authorities. Candidates who qualify JEE Main 2021 will be eligible for admissions into the participating institutes of UPSEE 2021.
Step 1 - Registration: The candidates will have to visit the official website and enter their basic details such as name, mobile number, email address, gender and more.
Step 2 - Filling of Form: Personal, academic and communication details have to be entered by the candidates. Detailed JEE Main information also has to be provided.
Step 3 - Uploading of Documents: The scanned photograph and signature of the candidates have to be uploaded. The scanned documents should be as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities.
Step 4 - Payment of Fee: Candidates will have to pay the required application fee in online mode i.e., net banking/credit card/debit card.

UPSEE 2021 Merit List
AKTU will release the merit list of UPSEE 2021 after the counselling registration process is over. On the basis of JEE Main scores, the merit list will be prepared. Candidates who are listed in the merit list will be able to participate in the counselling and seat allotment process of UPSEE 2021. In case there are two or more candidates who have secured the same JEE Main score, then the tie will be broken by the following the guidelines in the given order:
- Candidates with less incorrect responses will be given a higher rank.
- If the tie is still not broken, then the candidates with the highest total marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be given a higher rank.
- If the tie still persists, the candidate who is older in age will be given a higher rank.
UPSEE 2021 Counselling
All candidates who are listed in the merit list will be able to appear for UPSEE 2021 counselling. AKTU will conduct the counselling session in online mode. During the counselling session, candidates will be allotted seats in their respective courses and colleges on the basis of merit. JEE Main scores will be taken into consideration during allotment. Selected candidates will have to submit their documents and pay the fee for confirmation of admission

UPSEE 2021 Student Reaction
UPSEE 2020 exam was conducted on September 20 by Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. Students reaction and exam analysis is available after the conclusion of the exam. According to the students who appeared in the test, the overall question paper was moderate. UPSEE 2019 student reaction & review
UPSEE 2019 was conducted on April 21 by AKTU (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University) in 57 cities across India. The exam was held for 8 papers in multiple sessions starting from 09:00 am to 05:30 pm. Paper 1 (BTech) for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology was held from 11:30 am to 02:30 pm. Paper 3 (BArch, BDes) for Mathematics, Aesthetic Sensitivity and Drawing was held from 03:00 pm to 05:00 pm. Paper 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8 (MBA, MCA, Pharmacy & BTech lateral entry) were held from 09:00 am to 11:00 am.
