Few points told by my brother who did his studies from LPU that will help you to make your decision:
A Mechanical Engineering student goes through an experiential learning process surrounded by high-end the latest labs and equipment including robotics and automation. International tech-fests and competitions encourage all-round development in our students in addition to giving them international exposure. Frequent guest lectures/ workshops are also organized for them by the university. , Ministry of Science Technology Advisory Monitoring Committee Meeting was held where 42 Scientists from various top universities like IITs, NITs, top Central and State Universities including (LPU) from across the country presented their research proposals. The syllabus is updated every 6 months which personally, It has separate lab facilities available for each course like robotics Lab, research lab, postgraduate lab, aviation lab, lab for fashion designing, advance kitchen lab etc. Faculty members are highly qualified, most of the faculty members have done their Ph.D. and others are pursuing, They have at least minimum of 5 years of experience and ample amount of knowledge, both theoretical and practical knowledge. They are cooperative and whenever you need their help they are ready to help you out. PEP classes start right away from the first semester itself in form of Communication Skills and continue till the final semester covering: Analytical Skills (Logic Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning) Quantitative Aptitude Skills Technical Aptitude Skills Presentations and Soft Skills Mock Exercises (Mock Interviews, GDs, Mock Tests, etc. ). All a student has to do is to maintain a good academic record and personality to ensure his/her placement. Mechanical Engineering students at LPU are provided with enormous opportunities of placement drives. I can SEE my few friends getting placed in reputed companies like Hyundai, Reliance Energy, Godrej, Sandhar Technology, XL Dynamics and many more. Even IT industries recruit Mechanical students here. Companies like Microsoft, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, etc. Are prominent recruiters here. LPU alumni are working in top MNCs across the globe like Voltas International, Honda Two Wheelers, Asahi India Glass Ltd. , Indo Farm Tractors Ltd. etc.

Actually speaking as well as b e both are done after the 12th standard. How were the subjects taught in this courses are quite different. In addition a person needs to get licence from DGCA to work on any aircraft as maintenance person and for this the course of A.M.E. Is a must. But it's three years course that you must remember and I do not think any concessions are given for the engineering graduates who join this course. From the perspective of job employment I feel that A.M.E. Has got better chances than a fresh engineer. I feel that instead of going for A.M.E. Should prepare for MBA entrance and go in for MBA. This fort open up many more employment opportunities for you. But then the choice has to be yours. Best wishes to you.

As you are already a Diploma holder in mechanical engineering and pursuing your AMIE, I would suggest that you complete this since it is in fat equivalent to graduation. Once you do this then you will become eligible to seek admission for or any course in management in any discipline. Best wishes to you.

In India at least at the moment admissions to any graduation course is based on the marks obtained in 12th examination. Diploma holders do not do their 12th hence they have used problem on their hands. However many states have declared Diploma courses as equivalent to 12th examination. You just need to approach the administrative staff of the institute from where you did your Diploma and get the requisite equivalent Certificate. Once you apply in this then you can go in for graduation in any subject of your desire. Best wishes to you.

The most prominent and wide tech fest for mechanical students is GO Kart race that took place in LPU for consecutive years and LPU is bagging the top position in the race. There are more than 100 companies that are coming in LPU for recruitment of mechanical students. The packages varies from 3 Lacs to 12 Lacs per annum. On an average, the packages are 5 Lacs in a very core company which gradually sees a couple of rapid promotions based on your handwork. Students have got top packages from leading tech companies.

As far as Mechanical engineering is concerned, I can tell you this course carries extra baggage and it is very fruitful if you choose LPU as a medium. I would like to share their experiences:-

Yes, even at 27years you can definitely and surely think if becoming one. A scientist is one who carries out research in her chosen field. Right? So, you will have to find a field or a subject that interests you the most and can think of studying this subject in detail. Then proceed to obtain forts graduation and then post graduation in this subject. Then register yourself for doctorate in any speciality in this subject. Then you need to obtain job in one of the DRDO labs or government establishment doing research in this subject. Once you get job, you are called as scientist. Best wishes to you.

It's very nice to hear from you that you are interested in doing your post graduation M.Tech in mechanical engineering. A student needs to do graduation in engineering before he can think of doing post-graduation. These days many of the institutions controlled by the government accept GATE scores for giving admissions for postgraduate courses. There are many Deemed-to-be universities which are functioning in India and almost every one of them conducts its own entrance exam for giving admission to the students for post graduation in engineering. You perhaps need to decide as to where you want to do your post graduation and then definitely everyone will be able to help you to know what exactly is the procedure. Best wishes to you.
