If becoming a doctor has always been your goal, you shouldn't question your abilities. If not, you can enroll in a BDS college since it is a well-liked career after MBBS. You can become a dental surgeon, also known as a dentist or doctor, by pursuing a BDS degree. Again, the decision is yours. Let's say that becoming an orthopedic surgeon has always been your ideal career. Consequently, you won't ever be satisfied with being a dentist. A BDS degree can make you a dentist, but if you'd rather specialize in another field, you can take a break and retake the NEET exam. If you are confident that you will be accepted to the MBBS programme after receiving a drop, you should not hesitate. However, sometimes students who decide not to join their allotted BDS college end up pursuing a B.Sc. In nursing or another course because they fail to obtain an MBBS the following year. Furthermore, given the competition for this exam, enrolling in a government-sponsored BDS college is preferable to dropping out and reapplying as a NEET.

1. Course curriculum: With a BDS degree, you can become a specialist in dental surgery and treatment. You study electrotherapy, physiology, exercise therapy, and related courses in BPT.
2. Fees: The fees for the BDS are comparably higher than the BPT fee. In government colleges, the cost of a BDS programme can reach Rs. 6 lacs, whereas the cost of a BPT course at private medical schools ranges from Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 6 lacs.
3. Career Pathway: A BDS can be used to become a prosthodontist, dental hygienist, or dentist. With a BPT degree, you can work as a physiotherapist in hospitals, as a sports physiotherapist, as a fitness instructor, etc.
4. Pay: With a BDS degree, you could earn a yearly salary of about Rs. 4.5 lacs. While a BPT degree can earn you an annual salary of approximately Rs. 2.25 Lacs. There are some professions that can pay up to Rs. 4 Lacs, like sports physiotherapy.

3. Career Options: A BDS can be used to become a dentist, dental hygienist, or prosthodontist. After earning your MBBS, you can apply for medical officer jobs in the government, like in UPSC CMS, but private hospitals and clinics demand a master's degree in any field of medicine, including surgery.
4. Salary: An MBBS degree can earn you up to Rs. 1 lac per month, while a BDS degree can earn you an average annual salary of about Rs. 4.5 lacs. When it comes to NEET counseling, the majority of students who receive high marks opt for MBBS, though BDS is an excellent and less hectic choice.
