BITSAT 2021 is an entrance exam conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses (BE) at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Admission will be offered to the candidates into BE, BPharm and MSc programmes after qualifying the admission test. The exam is conducted online and around 3 lakh students apply for this entrance exam every year. BITSAT, a computer-based entrance exam, is expected to be conducted in the third or fourth week of June 2021.

BITSAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Mentioned below are BITSAT 2021 eligibility criteria that aspirants need to fulfill in order to appear for the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test.
For admission to any of the First Degree programmes of BITS except BPharm (Hons): Â
- Aspirants should have passed the class 12th examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English.
- Aspirants should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
For admission to BPharm (Hons):Â Â
- Aspirants should have passed the class 12th examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCMB in Class 12 can also apply for the Pharmacy programme at BITS campuses.
- Aspirants should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects.
Additional Eligibility Criteria to keep in mind:
- Only students who are appearing for 12th class examination in 2021 or have passed in 2020 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT 2021. Students who have passed 12th examination in 2019 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT 2021.
- If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in the 12th class or its equivalent, only his/her latest performance will be considered, provided this attempt had been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
- Students who are presently studying in any of the BITS campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT 2021.
- Admissions will be made purely on merit basis. The merit position of the candidate for admission is based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT 2021. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the Class 12 board exam, as mentioned above.Â
BITSAT 2021 Direct Admission to Board toppers
First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2021 will be given direct admission to the programme of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2021 score as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above. Further details about this scheme will be available at the BITS admission likely in the month of May, 2021.

Note: The candidates who will join the MSc programme are eligible to apply for the dual degree in Engineering at BITS Pilani after completion of one year. This assignment is made by competition on their performance at BITS at the end of the first year. (For more details refer Admissions Modality available on BITS admissions website.)
BITSAT 2021 Admission Process
Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps in order to appear for BITSAT 2021.Â
Step 1: Fill BITSAT 2021 Application Form
Candidates need to fill BITSAT 2021 application form online on their official website.
- Candidates also need to pay the application fee (Rs 3300 for males and Rs 2800 for girls) for the BITSAT 2021exam. It is only after paying the application fee that the application process for the exam would be considered complete.
- Candidates also need to give three preferences of Test Cities where they would like to take the exam.
Step 2: Book BITSAT 2021 Slot
- BITSAT will allot a Test Center that is in one of the three city preferences given by the candidate in the application form.
- Then candidates need to book a slot (Morning slot or Evening slot) on the official website of the exam. You can learn more about the BITSAT 2021 slot booking process.
Step 3: Download BITSAT 2021 Admit Card (Hall Ticket)
- Candidates who will book their slot for the exam can download their BITSAT admit card from the official website.Â
- BITSAT admit card is a mandatory document to appear for the exam.
Step 4: Appear for BITSAT 2021 Exam
- Candidates will need to thoroughly go through BITSAT exam pattern, take mock tests, and practice previous years Question Papers and Sample Papers to fare well in the exam.
Step 5: Check BITSAT 2021 Result
- BITS Pilani will declare BITSAT Result on the official website of the exam. BITSAT result contains the admit list as well as a waitlist.
Step 6: Appear in BITSAT 2021 Counselling
- Candidates who qualify the exam and make it to the merit list will need to appear for the BITSAT 2021 counselling/iteration. During the counselling, students will be allotted seats as per their ranks and choice of course/institute.
BITSAT 2021 Slot Booking
Dates for BITSAT slot booking 2021 will be announced tentatively in the month of April or May, 2021. BITSAT slot booking is a mandatory process for every candidate to appear for the exam. The slot booking will allow students to book the date, time and slot for BITSAT 2021 entrance exam. Candidates will be required to log in to the official website using their BITSAT Application Number, Gender, Date of Birth, and Email ID for booking their slots. Candidates must also note that the students will only be allowed to download their admit card only after booking the slot.

BITSAT 2021 Admit Card
BITS Pilani will make available the BITSAT 2021 admit card on the official website soon after the slot booking will be over. Candidates aspiring for admission to different campuses of BITS Pilani will need to log in to the official website using their credentials to download it. The BITSAT hall ticket 2021 is an important document as, without it, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. BITSAT admit card 2021 will be issued only to those candidates who complete the slot booking procedure in the stipulated time.

BITSAT 2021 Result
BITSAT 2021 result will be declared by the exam conducting authority online on the official website of BITS admissions. The institute will declare the BITSAT result in two steps. Firstly, every candidate will get their scores immediately after the exam gets over. It will include the number of correct answers, incorrect answers and total marks obtained by a candidate in BITSAT 2021. Secondly, the BITSAT result 2021 will be announced by the BITS Pilani in the form of iteration which will comprise of the waitlist and admit list.

Q. When will the BITSAT 2021 be conducted?
A. BITSAT 2021 will tentatively be conducted in the month of June, 2021.
Q. When is the process of BITSAT 2021 application form filing is likely to begin?
A. BITSAT 2021 application form are available from February 23, 2021. The last date to fill the application form is May 29.
Q. Is there any provision of direct admission to BITS Pilani and its other campuses?
A. First rank holders of all national and state boards are eligible for direct admission to BE courses offered by the BITS Pilani.Â
Q. Is BITSAT score mandatory for B.Pharma admission at BITS campuses?
A. If you are aspiring for BPharma admission in any of the campuses of BITS, you will have to clear the BITSAT exam.
Q. Does any private college (expect BITS) accept BITSAT score for B.Tech admission?
A. BITSAT score is valid only for BE admission offered by BITS Goa, Pilani and Hyderabad campuses.
Q. Is BITSAT tougher than JEE Main?
A. According to previous trends and experts' feedback, the difficulty level of JEE Main and BITSAT is almost similar.Â
Q. I have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2. Am I Eligible to Apply for BITSAT?
A. Candidates with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2 can attempt BITSAT 2021. However, they will be eligible to apply only to the BPharm programme.
Q. I passed the class 12 exam in 2020 with less than 75% aggregate in PCM. Am I eligible if I reappeared in the class 12 exam to improve my marks?
A. If the candidates are repeating the class 12 exam, they should do it for all the subjects to pass 12th again as mentioned in the BITSAT brochure. If they have taken improvement exams in PCM/PCB only, they are not eligible.
Q. Are the candidates appearing in the class 12 exams eligible to apply?
A. Yes, candidates appearing for the class 12 exams are eligible to apply for the entrance test.
BITSAT 2021 Student Reaction
BITSAT 2020 student reaction and review is now available. Shiksha covered the exam on September 16 at a BITSAT 2020 test centre in Noida. Most of the students whom we spoke to shared that despite the exam being of moderate difficulty level, time and speed were two factors that would influence the score of candidates in the exam. Dhwani, an engineering aspirant, shared, “ The paper was easier than JEE Main but the overall difficulty level of the BITSAT 2020 question paper was easy. The Chemistry section had easier questions but they involved a lot of calculations."Â

I'M a BITSAT aspirant but I could not join in bits in 2020 so I wanted to join in bits 2021. Will there be any droppers at bits?
