CMA/CWA is much more exclusive and knowledge based as per Indian Standards. CMA US is like a mini MBA - one year course and 2 exams.
Whereas CMA India has its course equivalent to CA or CIMA UK. A much tougher course with pass percent around 1% , duration (excluding foundation) min - 2 years, No of papers 16.
Moreover, Indian companies , mostly the PSUs doesnt value CMA US as such when compared to CWA/CMA. Also , the field of practice is not open to CMA US.

There are plenty of professional courses available for you to choose from.
For commerce students, one of the easiest things to do is go for B.Com then M.Com and then maybe Ph.D or professor.
There's also an option to go for CA, CS, CMA and at times LLB. The mainstay of commerce students for years now.
Together with B.Com. you can, for the time being, go for various certification courses conducted by many institution across the country.

Following is the minimum qualification for CMI exam, if you wish to take admission into UG course
1. Candidates who have passed or appeared/appearing for the Class 12th or an equivalent examination are eligible to apply.
2. There is no age limit for undergraduate courses.
3. Candidates who have appeared for National Science Olympiad and secured exceptionally good marks are exempted from appearing in the CMI Entrance Exam.
