For English, Hindi, physical education you should only focus on the main textbooks. For physics you can go for S. L. Arora if you are unable to understand NCERT and Pradeep is also a good reference book but it is too lengthy and you should keep in mind that you have only 8 months to complete your syllabus.

UGC NET Exam is conducted every year in the month of June and December. If you are preparing for the National Eligibility test you have enough time for preparation. Well most of the candidates prepare for the exam by enrolling in coaching institutes and many do preparations by self. Well the self-doing preparations is the best method for the exam. It is a good that you want to prepare for Government Exam. But, it is not easy to crack these exams because every year lakhs of students apply for the exam and vacancies are only in thousands. You have to study 8 hours daily. Refer good banks, give mock test and improve your speed to solve questions.

Both Akash and Pathfinder have good names in market. There are others too like Allen, Topper, Resonance, etc. I would advise you to select that coaching institute which is either nearer to your home or easily accessible from your home.
