Due to high cutoffs it is difficult for an EWS candidate with a NEET UG score of 309 to get a seat in the majority of government medical colleges for MBBS. You might however look into other government-funded medical schools which frequently have lower cutoffs. For example government schools may provide free or heavily discounted tuition for BAMS (Ayurvedic Medicine), BHMS (Homoeopathy), or BUMS (Unani Medicine). The cutoffs for reserved categories may also be lower at some state-run dentistry schools.

Hi Nanish,
The cut-off varies every year according to the number of students applying for examination and number of seats available. It would be advisable that you get in touch with college authorities/official page directly for accurate cutoff which can help you in figuring out the appropriate college and seat.

With 122 NEET marks in 2024, your son can be considered for a B-category (management quota) seat in private medical colleges, although it all greatly depends on the individual college and the cutoff for management quota seats. The cutoffs for B-category seats are generally lower than those for government quota seats, but they have higher fees. The cutoffs and eligibility for such seats are different from college to college, so it is better to directly talk to the private medical colleges for knowing their B-category seat availability, cutoff marks, and fees structure to ascertain your son's chances.
