Out of this, over 10 lakh candidates were male and over 13 lakh candidates were female. This is the highest number of applications so far. As compared to NEET 2023, there was an increase of approximately 14 per cent in the number of applicants. <p>In 2024, NEET cutoffs for government medical colleges in open category ranged from 630–710 marks, depending on the state. For private colleges, it ranged between 460–570 marks. <p>The CENTAC NEET UG counselling process is conducted in online mode only. Candidates will have to register and fill choices in online mode. The counselling authorities will also release the seat allotment result in online mode. However, the last round of the counselling, which is the institute reporting, or the document verification, will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates will have to be physically present at the allotted institutes, or the venue specified by the counselling authority and get their documents verified and complete the admission formalities.&nbsp;</p>

<p>No such requirement has been mentioned. But it is compulsory to complete a 12-month compulsory rotatory internship by the date specified by the NBE. The internship completion certificate will be asked to be presented during the document verification process and at the time of admissions. But you will have to mention the date of completion of your internship in the form, which must be by the date specified by the NBE (previously was 31st March).</p>

A separate exam is conducted for admission at these institutes, i.e INI CET. The exam is conducted twice in a year in computer-based mode.</p>

In a letter written by the Government of India to NBEMS, the exam conducting body, it has been requested to revise the cutoff marks for each specialisation as per the NMC recommendation. At times, cutoff is reduced to fill seats remained vacant after counselling. MCC had reduced cut off for NEET SS 2022 by 20 percentile for each speciality.&nbsp;</p>
